Next Jumper, Matalan skirt, Primark tights, Forever 21 Necklace, New Look flats.

Gosh I’ll be glad when I can get my foot in to shoes again and wear the outfits I want to wear! A foot injury for a shoe addict? Worst nightmare! Fingers crossed it won’t be too long before I’m back in heeled boots and all manner of outfits; things just don’t look the same with a bulky bandage underneath!

Still, nothings broken and I have my latest beauty product favourite to brighten up my days:

NEW Jergens® Original Beauty Lotion Cherry-Almond Body Moisturiser 200ml
RRP £3.49

The smell of this lotion is INCREDIBLE, not overly sweet and sickly but enough to remind you of a Cherry Bakewell (smelling like baked goods is never a bad thing!)
I’ve raved about Jergens products before, I love how fast they sink in and how good they leave my skin feeling and this one is no exception. Although I was sent my sample for review I will totally be re-purchasing this time and time again, I’m a fussy bugger when it comes to moisturisers but this one ticks all the right boxes!

Jergens are also giving away a number of prizes including a designer handbag by Michael Kors, a designer scarf by Mulberry, a pair of designer shoes AND the complete range of Jergens moisturisers which includes 12 Jergens products. The prize is worth over £600!

Plus, Jergens is also giving 10 runners up the full range of Jergens moisturisers and a year’s Marie Claire subscription for the year.

Now, if you’ll excuse me I’m off to drown my sorrows in the Cherry Drops sweets that came in the package. I’m sure sugary goods heal muscles better than anything…

Have you tried this yet? Have you come across any other fabulous products that smell like sweet treats?

Holiday Essential from Sure

I’m a bit late to the game with this post, I was sent a sample of the deodrant to review, but it arrived after my holiday so I didn’t get to test it to it’s full potential;
however, we did have a “heatwave” here over the weekend, and eventually it did heat up down West, although nothing compared to London it would seem!

I am fussy with deodrants. Very fussy. Sure is a brand I come back to time and time again and I am yet to find a product of theirs I don’t like. This would be no exception. The Summery scent left me feeling fresh, and although I didn’t have a very active weekend I stayed dry and sweat patch free (I’m one of those folk who sweats a lot!)

I reckon this is a must have for those of you still to jet off, or if your heading to a late Summer festival.

Well done Sure. Well done.

You’ll find this in all leading retailers costing £2.19(RRP) for 150ml, a roll on version is also available.

my skin saviour from Jergens

A few weeks ago I was sent a tube of the brand new moisturiser by Jergens; Ultra Healing. Designed for extra dry skin and promising to nourish and heal I had mixed hopes. Could this product succeed where others have failed to make a difference to my extra, extra dry skin?

In short, yes.

I have a love hate relationship with moisturisers. I buy the latest wonder product hoping it’ll ease the itch and give me the super soft skin I covet only to discard it after a couple of uses because it’s too greasy/smells funny/hasn’t made the slightest bit of difference.

This is different. I’m already half a tube down (I don’t ever get that far!). The perfect non-greasy, fast absorbing formula with a heavenly scent, this is a hard worker and I love it!

Keep your eyes peeled in your local Boots.com and Superdrug stores for the new look range.

As an aside, the new look packaging for Jergens products is fabulous, don’t you think?

Give me a shout if you’ve seen this anywhere, and also…share your skin saviours!

xx

Blast from the past with Skin Art

The first time I used temporary tattoos I was five years old and they featured the power rangers. A few years on, further in to the 1990s when everyone was flashing their body jewellery I experimented a bit more, although those were those odd plastic choker type affairs in celtic designs.

Fast forward a few years and things have changed for the better Skin Art recently got in touch asking me if I’d like to take a look at their range of products, and as I’m considering getting another real tattoo (I have four so far) I thought it a good chance to try out some potential designs.
Skin Art is a collection of beautifully illustrated temporary tattoos, and sparkling glitter tattoos. First launched in 2011 as a limited edition Christmas line, Skin Art flew off the shelves and became a complete sell out in a matter of weeks. Following on from this success, Skin Art ihas launched a brand new collection that has been created for an instant festival / rock star look, with zero commitment.
The temporary tattoo designs are simple to apply using a water / transfer method, and the glitter tattoos are created using loose glitter and stencils, with simple step by steps for a flawless finish. The tattoos can last for up to five days, depending on the design, where it is applied and your skin type. The full range consists of 3 temporary tattoo kits, a sparkling glitter tattoo kit, plus a set of additional stencil designs. Available exclusively from Boots and Boots.com.

As you can see, I was sent quite a variety, my favourite being the “I’m a dreamer” collection.

The tattoos are super simple to apply and are really effective. They last up to five days, depending on where you apply them and what your skin type is which is the perfect amount of time to see if a design is really “you” or for a few days away…a festival perhaps?

I was really impressed by these, and as a pack retails at £7.99 and you get loads of designs I think they are excellent value for money, too. I’m looking forward to experimenting further over the summer and hopefully settling on my new piece of ink.

What are your opinion on tattoos; temporary or not?

reasons I am not a beauty blogger

A few weeks ago find-me-a-gift.co.uk got in touch asking if I’d like to review a couple of makeup products.
I love makeup, a few years ago I went through a phase where it was my “thing” and built up quite a collection. Since then I have shamefully become lazy and fallen out of the loop so I thought this might be a good oppurtunity to get some of that love back. I think this post proves I still have a long way to go!

Apologies for the shocking photos that are to follow (reason number one why I am not a beauty blogger/you should always read your camera instructions)

I was sent The Balm Makeup- Hot Mama Blush/Eyeshadow, £14.99 which is a gorgeous rose gold colour hideously portrayed by my less than amateur photographing. The colour payoff on this is amazing and as a pale girl the colour really compliments my complexion; as an eyeshadow it doesn’t work for me, the pink makes me look like I have sore eyes, but I am confident it will look stunning on people who wear pink eyeshadow well and the texture is a dream.

I also recieved The Balm Bronzer Powder Compact- Betty Lou Manizer, £17.99. Reason number two why I am not a beauty blogger is that I have never in my life tried Bronzer before; I am infact scared of it.
As with Hot Mama the texture of this is a dream, an utter dream, and the colour pay-off is impressive; the photo above is one gentle finger swipe worth of colour! It was trial and error getting this to work for my beyond the pale skin but with a light hand and some careful buffing I think I managed admirably for a first attempt

(And here’s reason number three why I am not a beauty blogger, the faces!)

I think both of these products will really come in to their own once I have had the benefit of some Spanish sun to lessen the bright whiteness of my skin; most of the time I love being pale, but sometimes I find it really, really hard work! That aside I really rate these products, and the colour payoff, retro packaging and luxury feel makes them worth every penny of their price tag.

Have you tried The Balm before?

And PLEASE PLEASE give me bronzer/general makeup advice!
