It’s Back: Revlon Sweet Boutique

Back in the summer Revlon ran a very successful game on their facebook page called Sweet Boutique, giving fans the chance to win one of the gorgeous Lip Butters. Just in time for the festive season, the Sweet Boutique re-launches today and with 100 Lip Butters to give away between now and December 4th it is well worth checking out.

You can find the Boutique here.

To celebrate the re-launch Revlon sent myself and other bloggers a “party pack” to help us get on trend with this season’s berry colour trend. It contained two Lip Butters which I am now obsessed with plus a gorgeous dark nail polish which I am yet to try due to doing so many clinics at work.

They just so happen to tone in with my little Owl!

So, if your a fan of Revlon Lip Butters or are yet to give them a try, hop on over to facebook now to try your luck!
Let me know if you get lucky,
and for those that love these as much as I do, what shades do I need to add to my collection?

Smelling good with Burt’s Bees

I’m not usually a fan of toiletry gift sets as generally there is one product I will use and the rest gets overlooked. This beauty from Burt’s Bees is an exception, there is nothing in there that I haven’t tried and loved, the Pomegranate sugar scrub is especially gorgeous and the scent of the entire set reminds me of Christmas which is kinda perfect at this time of year.

A quick run through of the set, which retails at £19.99 (so worth it when you price it all up individually):

Replenishing lipbalm with pomegranate oil: perfect for the trials of cold weather and central heating. Burt’s Bees is one of the only lipbalms that makes a difference and the flavour of this is just divine.

Cranberry and Pomegranate sugar scrub which smells like Christmas. Oh hello silky smooth skin, I’ve missed you!

Cranberry and Pomegranate replenishing body bar. Again this smells festive and lasts all day. This has been great in lieu of shaving foam. I will be buying this again and again.

Naturally nourishing milk and honey body lotion…one word for this…LOVE. I do kind of wish this had a fruit fragrance too though.

The signature spa pouf finishes the set off perfectly..this would make a great Christmas gift or a pampering treat for yourself.

What do you think of sets like this? What other Burt’s products do I need?

Beauty: Naturally Nude with MeMeMe

It always feels a bit like I’m treading on other people’s toes when I do a beauty post but I was sent this gorgeous Naturally Nude gift set by MeMeMe via the lovely folk at findmeagift and couldn’t wait to share my opinion.

Consisting of Blush Me Blusher, Lipstick with Shea Butter, 2 pots of cream eye shadows and a beautiful natural-look nail polish packed up in a sleek black makeup bag and costing £26.99 (which is a bargain when you add up the cost of it all individually) this straight away struck me as my dream everyday makeup kit. Gone are the days when I was all about the bold eyeshadow and glitter liner (although I do like to have fun with that at times too) this kit is perfect for creating the “barely there” look I favour for work and a base for something more dramatic.
I’m not usually a fan of cream type eyeshadow but this applied wonderfully and lasted all day which is what I tend to dislike about them. The lipstick is a gorgeous pinky shade which will suit pretty much everyone as well as feeling wonderfully soft and caring. The blusher is a bold coral colour that applies quite lightly so you can really build the colour up to suit you; as you can see I’m super pale so went with a light hand and you can’t really see it in the photos but in reality I was left with a fresh, healthy colour to my face.
I’ve not used the nail polish yet, but having used others from the brand I can tell you now they are fabulous!

This set would make the perfect Christmas gift for any beauty fan and also a lovely little treat for yourself if your looking for an instant natural look. I may not be blessed with beauty talent and know-how but I really did think this was super.

What are your go-to products for a natural look? Would you use this set?

…and relax

Life has been more than a little chaotic lately, probably more so than it has ever been. I’m relishing this of course as it’s the ultimate testament to how far I have come in the last six months but it has left me exhausted and in need of some serious pampering. The idea of a day of pampering and relaxation is more than a tad bit appealing and I’m putting serious consideration in to putting in a request for Spa hotel vouchers from Santa! I actually live not very far from some wonderful Spas, including the very well known one at Bath but before now the idea hasn’t really appealed, or rather not seemed relevant to me, I’ve never craved total relaxation before and never felt like having some in my personal space providing a massage or facial but right now it’s all I can think about and it seems like a fitting reward for my hard work in changing my body for the better (it may help me come to terms with it more, too)

With my Mum’s 50th Birthday looming I’m loving the idea of a Mother/Daughter packaging…you can’t beat a gift with benefits!

Have you ever had a Spa day before? Where have you gone and how did you find it? What do you do when you are in need of some rest and relaxation and have you ever made any treatments at home?

TEACH ME HOW TO RELAX dammit, I am pretty hopeless!

Fashion Culprit

Dress c/o Fashion Culprit, Tights c/o welovecolors, Boots: Yull.

I do love a good little black dress, and even more so one that is versatile enough to be dressed down for day and up for night.

This one from Fashion Culprit ticks all the right boxes; worn yesterday for a mooch (hobble) around some shops, and I can also see ways to work it with a blazer for work and with some bold accessories for a girly pub night. Winner. All that and it only costs £15! Don’t let the cheap price put you off, this is made with good quality, thick material meaning it hangs nicely and keeps it’s shape. Of course, to sweeten the deal there is the heart cut out back, too. I want one in every colour!

I’ve been feeling sorry for myself with my injured foot all week so treated myself to a few new beauty bits too, making the most of the 3 for 2 offer in href
=”http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=2041&id=118255″ target=”_blank”>Boots.com. I always find new mascaras best after a few uses so when the above was the result after one coat of the first usage I was impressed. I haven’t had a chance to test the nail polishes yet but seeing other bloggers who have is making me excited!

Are you a Fashion Culprit?
