Lusting after; Tasty Cream

Once upon a time, well over a year ago now I did a series of posts featuring fabulously printed leggings from Black Milk whilst bemoaning the fact that no-where in the UK even came close.

Although I’ve somewhat toned down my style these days, I was utterly delighted to be e-mailed by genius Michael Rowland about his label, Tasty Cream and his range of latex fashion including leggings to make every addict weep tears of joy.

A few words from the man himself:

“I have been working with latex since 2006. Showing some of my latex dress designs meant I was able to acquire a place at the biggest latex design company located in London from 2009-2011, where we produced customized items for many well-known celebs such as Lady Gaga.
As you probably know latex is appearing more, and even more commonly.
Topshop had a trial run on their latex collection last year, which I have been informed was a great success, and they will be bringing back in the near future. However the collection had been sourced  from a low quality manufacturer and was priced very high.

So my aim with Tasty Cream is not only to bring latex presented in a ‘wear out’ way, but to provide a constant new look, partly by sourcing ‘modern look’ materials. I have only started working with elastane-based materials (shown on my site) from last year but find them much easier to work with than latex!

All garments are hand made with a lot of care, and I make sure the fabrics sourced are; safe, of an excellent quality, and look/feel good. I think the great thing about the high-waisted leggings/shorts on my site at the moment is that they can be combined with a lot of garments most girls have in their wardrobes, resulting in a stunning and a highly impacting outfit without even much effort”

If a genie could grant me three wishes from Michael’s designs they would be the above…

American Beauty, £43, Latex Dream leggings, £60 and Starstruck, £42.

What do we think folks? I remember a LOT of love for my previous crazy leggings posts…

I say “watch this space”, Tasty Cream is taking over.

What Nature Valley Did Next

Long term readers of the blog will know how much I’ve championed Nature Valley on here, with their fun events and delicious bars,
as well as getting involved with the 2012 Olympics they are currently running an Urban Gardens event which will take place around the country in coming weeks
“The events aim at bringing a bit of country fun into the city: charming fete games, lovely prizes and yummy Nature Valley bars… And you don’t have to be too good at ‘Splat the rat’ to enjoy a free Nature Valley bar”
Let me know if you pop along!

Green Bug

Since harvesting my first crop of tomatoes this year (after a somewhat uncertain start) I’ve been bitten by the gardening bug. I think I’ve mentioned before my desire to grow my own fruit and vegetables and now I have had some minor success this has become greater. Space in our garden is somewhat limited so I’ve been looking for tips and tricks for growing in confined spaces…

Container growing looks to be the best option, indeed our tiny little tomato plant flourished in a bag of compost in a small wooden trough and rapidly took over it’s little corner of the patio, apparently lettuce, cabbage and potatoes will also flourish in this type of environment, and if those don’t appeal I’d hazard a guess that with the right type of soil you’d get away with most things.

I’d love to hear from any readers who have had success with growing in containers…what have you grown and did it take much care (my green thumbs are lethal at times)
What about growing fruit and vegetables indoors? Does that work at all?
One day, I’d love an allotment,
until then…I NEED HELP!
Nothing beats the taste of home grown produce. I love when people at work bring in their crops for us to take home…
*trundles off in a day dream about making jam and chutneys from home grown things*

This is a sponsored post but very relevant to my current interests and dreams. I really do think I missed my calling in life as a farmer

Snacking Saturday: the review of a review

I don’t know about you, but when I see bloggers review products they have been sent, I wonder if their opinions would stay the same had they paid for it themselves. Most of my Snacking Saturday posts involve products that have been sent to me for the purpose of the series, and I think sometimes it might be good to look back and see what really did make an impression.

Back in May I review Metcalfe’s Skinny Topcorn  and it received glowing praise….did it really deserve that review though?

In short. Yes.

I have spent a small fortune buying Metcalfe’s products since then, most notably the Wasabi and Salt varieties

My Mum, one of the fussiest snackers known to man-kind ordered a bulk box of the salt variety, and I demand friends drive me to the local garden centre so I can get my wasabi fix! The man who works in the Bristol Pret (a stockist) now greets me with a smirk and a carrier bag!
I’ll admit I’ve not purchased the Chocolate variety since. It wasn’t my favourite, although still very, very edible!

Good news for those still seeking to get hold of this crack… Metcalfes have expanded their stockists to include Julian Graves, Sainsburys and Sainsburys Online!

On the website you’ll find a selection of NEW products including wasabi peas, chocolate edamame and coated rice cakes…all of which I am yet to try but are lined up for my next order.
