I’ve always had a soft spot for bags, not that you’d know it with the way I bang on about shoes. Now I’ve run out of room to house even one more pair of shoes (watch that stop me!) my affections have switched back over to handbags and more specifically clutch bags despite having only ever owned three in my life. I’ve been browsing them a lot lately as I needed to get one to take to my friend’s wedding this weekend and during that browsing I stumbled across the amazing (but sadly out of my budget) Lamb 1887.

Inspired by old school glamour icons and adored by celebrities like Fearne Cotton and Pippa Middleton Lamb 1887 delivers timeless elegance with a modern twist crafted from the finest leathers.

Founded by Charlotte Lamb the brand is grown from a business started by her artisan cobbler Great Grandfather in 1887. Charlotte was inspired to create Lamb 1887 after struggling to find elegant, on trend and affordable bags whilst working in the city. Spring/Summer sees a huge injection of colour and textures, with prices from £90-£260.

I’m already a huge fan of Lamb 1887 and I can’t wait to see more from the brand over coming seasons. I can see them becoming a fashionista staple in the British fashion world.

The pink clutch bag would be perfect for the wedding and if I had £110 to spare it would be coming with me. What brands have you discovered lately? What do you think of Lamb 1887?

Ok, so it’s taken me a long time to work this out, but following a decent skincare regime really does make the world of difference! I’ve been super lucky over recent months to aquire some lovely skin products that have quite literally made me glowing, and this latest lot are proving perfect for keeping my face looking fresh and natural now the sunnier weather has arrived.

I’ve waxed lyrical about Simple countless times on the blog, having been a fan since I was old enough to start pilfering Mum’s face wash (sorry Mum!) I’m prone to sensitive skin on my face and I’m always wary about trying new brands so having one I know I can fall back on, and that really works is such a confidence boost.

Lately I’ve been discovering some new products from the brand, and true to form, I love them. All from the Kind to Skin + range, first up is the Sun Kissed Moisture Cream- a moisturising gradual facial tanner. I usually steer clear of tanning products but this one hasn’t left me orange. Far from it, applied lightly under my makeup in the morning this has just enhanced my skin’s natural colour and left me looking really quite healthy. The only thing I’m not so keen on with this product is that it has that “fake tan smell”, but I can overlook that for the fact is hasn’t left me looking like I’ve been tango’ed.

Along with Heal Gel, which I recently reviewed, my nightly moisture boost has been coming from the Protecting Moisture Cream with SPF 30. This has a lovely, rich feel to it and applied last thing at night I’ve been waking up with baby soft skin. It’s so sensitive that I’ve even been able to use it on my eyes (although it does sting if you get it in your eyes, take it from one who found out the hard way) which often get dry and tight after a day in front of a computer screen. This is going straight on my re-purchase list.

For hydrating top ups during the day I’ve been spritzing on the Moisture Boost Hydro Mist, a new concept for me as you can literally just spray a fine mist of this on during the day to stop skin drying out. I’m not sure if this is the intention of the product but it works well for me as it doesn’t affect what makeup I’m wearing either. I have been keeping this in my handbag for work days where air-con and artificial light gets to me and it means my face feels far happier come the end of the day.

Simple products can be found in a multitude of retailers including Boots, Superdrug and most good supermarkets too. All at affordable prices there’s no excuse for me slacking on new skin mission…after all, I’m 27 in six days, I don’t want to look old before my time!

New season = new dresses, yes? They are my most favourite thing to shop for and one of the things I love most about blogging is that I end up looking in places I wouldn’t otherwise have considered. Take Joules for example- of course I was aware of the brand but I wasn’t convinced I’d ever find anything there for me. I’ve just been taking a look at their latest arrivals though and have found rather a few tunic dresses that I’d like to make my own.

These are just four of the beauties that caught my eye on my last browse. On the far left we have the pink & white Audrey tunic, I’m not usually a fan of tunics but there really is something about this one. Next to Audrey is the Francesca Peplem dress. I’ve fallen head over heels for the bright blue of this dress, as well as it’s gorgeous shape. Next comes Lorelliprint (what a name!) a beautiful linen dress that would be just perfect on warm nights- garden parties/lazy bbqs anyone? Last but by no means least is my personal favourite, the Marcie cotton dress. This is just so me and really high up on my current “what I’d buy if I was rich” list.

Ok, I’ve left it really late to post this one…my bad- the days are all kind of merging in to one at the moment, but as it’s only half way through Valenties Day I’m posting regardless.

Whether the object of your affection choses to celebrate it or not, us ladies like to feel special on Valentine’s Day. Having recently seen that one of my favourite online fashion brands, Goddiva, have released a Valentines dress range. I felt inspired to find a dress for each given Valentine’s Day scenario. So, here are some great Valentines dress ideas that will get you the attention you deserve this year.

Firstly, if you have pegged yourself a date on Valentine’s Day and the fella actually turns up you are already onto a winner. Any man brave enough to take a women out for the first time on this romantic holiday is clearly ‘that into you!’ That said, you don’t want to give off the wrong signals by revealing too much on your first date. Here are my top two first date valentines outfit choices:

If you want to go with a classic red dress on your Valentine’s Day first date, stick to darker burgundy tones like this wine colour Valentines dress (left). This will express more allure and elegance rather than brighter reds which can be a little too strong for the earlier stages of a blossoming relationship. Black mesh is also great for a first date. You can show off your chest and legs without coming across as inappropriate. I love this polka dot mesh evening dress. I’ve also suggested some cute accessories including this love heart bangle which would look great with the red number and diamante black velvet clutch bag that would look amazing with the mesh dress.

Having been with my gorgeous boyfriend Ben for almost a year now I have to say we are still pretty fresh. However, as it is our first Valentine ’s Day together I certainly want to look my best! You can afford to be a little more risky but try to dress appropriately for where you are going on your date. If it’s a posh restaurant then keep it elegant and sensual but if you are going out dancing then go for it with a sassy short dress or two-piece. They always say that you should only show your cleavage or your legs, never both. For me it is always about the legs so these are a few of my favourites.

I love the pearl detail on the first red party dress. There is also a vintage feel about this one that I like and would probably wear a white faux fur shrug with this one. The Kim Kardashian inspired evening dress in the middle is stunning. The swooped lace is really flattering and the teasing glimpses of skin from the red lace will certainly help spice up your evening with your man. I’ve written previously about the tartan trend and I say, why not bring it into Valentine’s Day with this red tartan top and pencil skirt?

If you are painting the town red with your single gal pals on Valentine’s Day this year, then feeling confident and getting noticed is probably your number one priority. Here are some attention grabbing dresses that are sure to get the lads hearts pumping:

When it comes to confidence you can’t go wrong with this red and black bodycon dress, I have included some matching red and black heels that will finish this Valentines outfit off nicely. If you want to shine then this off-the-shoulder metallic party dress is certain to turn heads. You can also sparkle from your toes upwards with these black sequin shoe boots.
