Meet Marie Belle

Oh I do love a new shop launch, I appear to spend half my free time window browsing online so having something fresh to look at is always an exciting moment. This week I’m introducing new kind on the block Marie Belle who only went live last week! Stocking a whole host of gorgeous accessories at fantastic prices, they are currently constantly updating their stock so there is always something new to look at and lust after.
Above are just a few of my favourite pieces available on the website right now, from the gorgeous Daisy pink trim bag, £19.99 (clearly I’d be attracted to it given the name!) to the Lucy earrings in Periwinkle, £5, there is something for all tastes and all budgets. Right now my eye is on the Victoria necklace in Pink as well as most of the current stock of bags!
Marie Belle are kindly offering my readers 10% off your purchases with no minimum spend, valid until the 31st of May, what further excuse do you need to get browsing? Just use the code MBDAISYCHAIN10 at the checkout.

Crazy for Daisy

Despite the name of my blog and my many online handles, my name isn’t actually Daisy. Not that you’d know it- my Granddad and some other friends/family members rarely call me by my real name (Laura) any more and it can get a bit confusing from time to time- not least for me, who has to remember what I’m supposed to be answering to at any given moment!
I think because of this I do have a bit of an affection, or obsession with anything and everything Daisy related; this season has been heaven as there are so many Daisy themed bits and bobs on the high street and it went without saying that when I saw this jumper on the Topshop website I would find a way to make it mine. A shopping trip with Mum the weekend before last, when I had some birthday money to spend on myself was the perfect excuse and I’ve worn it with everything and anything ever since! A lot of the time I tend to skip Topshop, it’s mostly out of my budget and a lot of what they come out with is too short or doesn’t fit my frame very well, but there are exceptions and this was most certainly one of them.

Jumper: Topshop | Skirt: Primark | Boots: Miista @ Sarenza

You can see how I really have embraced the trend for all things pastel right now, perhaps a tad overly so? I couldn’t resist this chiffon skirt in Primark, a mere £10 and so girly and floaty and the most beautiful shade of blue. I couldn’t find any clean nude tights among my collection so opted for some shimmery pale pink ones instead and then finished the look with my very colour co-ordinated Miista boots which I love so much. It’s a shame I don’t get to wear them more really, the satin nature of them makes them not that practical for the British weather!
I’ve done rather a lot of shopping lately, thanks to my Birthday money so there will probably be several new things on the blog in up-coming posts. I’m totally loving the high street at the moment, I’m super happy with all my purchases (rare for me, queen of buyers remorse!) and could easily have spent a LOT more money if I’d had it available to spend!
Any one else feeling the high street love right now? I’m especially loving European brands like Zara and Pull & Bear for lots of clean cut, pastel goodness.

Tartan Winner

My obsession with tartan started in Winter 2012 and has been a constant lure for me ever since. I’m not always a big print person, but give me that Scottish wonder and I am instantly sold.
Tee: Motel | Skirt: c/o F&F | Boots: c/o Sarenza
I was sent this skirt as part of a style challenge by the lovely folks behind F&F at Tesco and it fast became one of my favourite tartan pieces. The problem I have is that I lack tops, I have oodles of dresses and skirts plus quite a lot of knitwear but not really any actual tops. I found this old favourite tee from Motel though and popped than on. I’m not the biggest fan of slogan clothing but this one gives me a real ego boost. Add in a pair of trusty black ankle boots and this is my standard weekend outfit.
So I guess my mission for next season is to find tops, and not just head straight for dresses. It’s going to be well in to May before I can afford to update my wardrobe so that gives me quite some time to compile a wishlist or six. Where do you lovely people find all your beautiful blouses and tees from? I appear to walk around with my eyes shut in that respect.

a little bit of winter warmth

Sorry I look a bit rough, I’m on strong pain relief for whatever is going on with my back and it’s wiping me out!

I’ve gone from not owning/wearing a hat in years to suddenly having quite the collection of them and wearing them as soon as the weather turns chilly.
And now the weather has turned extra chilly and so the arrival of this Stone Union bobble hat from soon to officially launch web store Brit Fash could not have been better timed. It’s probably the most warm and sensible hat I own (I tend to head straight for the novelty section and own one with ears, one that looks like a penguin and a faux fur trapper to name but a few) and so comfortable too. I think the last time I wore a bobble hat I was about eight but I’m ready to rock this one all winter through.

As the name would suggest, Brit Fash is the online destination for both established and emerging British designers. This really makes me happy as I’m thinking more and more about where the things I buy are produced and I think I’ll be a pretty frequent customer of the site. I’ve already got my eye on some Christmas Jumpers and this tartan number too.

What are your views on bobble hats? And what do you think of Brit Fash in general? I’m a fan already!

Blimey, BHS

When asked to think of high street stores BHS probably isn’t the first one that’s going to spring to mind; that’s how it was for me, everyone knows of the shop but I’m not sure I know many people (myself included) who shop there.
I’m gonna need to re-think that now though. They have launched a seriously covetable Autumn Winter collection which includes some perfect Little Black Dresses (an essential for this season), work wear to stand out and look smart in, shoes that have me wanting to run there right now and get some as well as coats, knits and, well, basically anything you could ever want.
I have so many memories of shopping in BHS as a child with my Mum and Nan. I believe I once owned several Lion King jumpers that came from there as well as some purple jeans and countless pairs of PJs. It’s a shop that has stood the test of time where many others have failed and it looks like now they’ve moved up several gears and given themselves a re-vamp.
High up on my wish list is this gorgeous fit and flare lace dress, I can’t get it off my mind now I’ve seen it.
I don’t believe I’ve mentioned the accessories yet either?! Jewellery to die for, sleek and chic gloves and some seriously snuggly scarves.
Whilst you’re browsing it’s probably worth checking out the Christmas shop too, oh and the homewares and the sale. I’ve been browsing for about half an hour.
To accompany the collection there’s this seriously seductive video…seriously, when did BHS get so cool?

What do you think? Will you be checking out BHS? What do you think of the video? Unexpectedly sexy, that’s what I think.
