Sarenza Shoe(s) of the Week: Mellow Yellow

So, it would seem that my Sarenza A-Z and my Sarenza shoe of the week has kind of merged itself in to one post.
This week my heart is skipping over some fabulous boots from classical/quirky brand Mellow Yellow who take a well loved, basic shoe and then add their own snazzy touches with great success.

The recent cold snap led me to being instantly drawn to the Mosaic boot; a beauty in brown and knit. Don’t they look snug? They’ll be brilliant with bare legs on a warmer day if we get it, but also super cute with berry coloured tights when the chill really sets in!
The gold heel on the Madras ankle boot adds a touch of luxe to this wardrobe staple. I think these will earn their keep come party season as they will effortlessly travel from office to party.
And finally, embracing this season’s trend for all things metallic I had to feature the Magnify; a real multitasker by being practical AND on trend- not something you see every day! In fact these also nail two trends as the burgundy colour is the colour du jour…(just incase you needed to justify a cheeky purchase!)

What are your thoughts on my selection? I shall be keeping a beady eye on Mellow Yellow, a brand to watch for sure!

Sarenza Shoe(s) of the Week

This week I bring you not ONE shoe style from Sarenza but five; please don’t blame me if you end up falling in love with these epic designs from Kat Maconie like I have!

Cecilia, Hazel, Valerie, Ruby, and my personal favourite; Gwyneth…too fabulous!

And with Kat’s killer designs being showcased on several London Fashion Week runways (hello Felder Felder!) there is no better time to snap a pair up!

Which style is your favourite?

Those Days

Yesterday was one of “those days” where six outfit later you still feel a mess and in a fit of frustration you throw on jeans and the baggiest top you can find (Oasis jeans and Bershka top). The redeeming factor to this was my new and slipper like comfortable Desigual Flats c/o Sarenza who ensured my feet, at least were happy in their attire.

I’m trying hard not to let “those days” drag me down. We all get them right? A sudden wave of insecurity over how we look and nothing looks right. I’m getting that a lot lately and it’s a learning curve to push through. I’m on an adventure to gain my weight and health back, pushing some boundaries I haven’t pushed before…it’s understandable that those days happen and slowly but surely I am getting there.

How do you deal with those days? My current and somewhat impulsive solution is to want to rush out and by a whole new wardrobe of clothes to drape myself in; unrealistic and impossible (and somewhat pointless if my shape is going to carry on changing for a while). Just because I feel bloated and that nothing fits anymore does not make it true.
What I AM doing is not putting pressure on myself to dress up, to embrace what feels comfortable and on the days I feel better…those are the days were I’ll be prancing around in a shorter dress and killer heels.
Blogging is theraputic too, getting perspective by seeing how I actually look in the photos I take, rather than the warped image I see in the mirror…it sounds odd, theraputic blogging, but I’m probably not the only one.

Mind over Matter.
I’ll get there…we’ll all get there.

Sarenza Shoe of the Week

One day my taste in shoes might become more practical but right now I have drawn, like a magpie to all things sparkly.
So whilst browsing Sarenza, trying to find my top pick of the new arrivals to share with you, I bypassed some beautiful boots and sensible heels in favour of Marquis by Mellow Yellow despite knowing I’d have no true occassion to wear them (I already have a few too many pairs of glittery shoes)
But still, they are beautiful and I am sure with a little bit of attitude I could turn them in to a day time shoe…where there is a will there’s a way! At £126 these really will be wishlist only but those beautiful blue sparkles will call me for months to come
(There is also a Black version and a very on trend Burgundy for me to obsess over)

Are you drawn to impractical shoes? Trying to find something suitable for work is a nightmare, I possibly own one sensible pair of flat loafers and the rest kind of border on acceptable, but not really office friendly, oops!

((And to think, just two years ago, I owned perhaps seven pairs of shoes and thought that a lot! Shoe size stays a lot more stable than clothes size, that’s my excuse!))

P.S. Joy of joy, I found a flat version that I COULD pass off as a work shoe for real!

wonsuponatime

How gorgeous is my little owl ring? Kindly sent to me by the folk at newly launched wonsuponatime; specialising in all things fairytale. I have a lot of love for this shop, they have some seriously unique pieces for sale including these quirky unicorn earrings.

Worn with New Look dress, Superdrug tights and shoes by Bertie c/o Sarenza. The arrival of September has bought with it the departure of decent morning light. Hello poor(er) quality (than usual) photos *sigh*

Had you heard of wonsuponatime before now? Which piece/s do you want in your happy ever after?
