Bath Time

Friday the 13th may be believed to be unlucky, but for me at least it was pretty freaking awesome. After much planning and anticipation Mum and I headed off for a hard saved for shopping spree in the beautiful city of Bath; it’s silly, we so rarely go there and yet it is just 25 minutes away by train (and cheaper to get to than it is to Bristol city centre!)

I took the oppurtunity to wear a new dress which I bought in New Look last weekend when I was with Becca.

The cardigan came via the gorgeous Jazzabelle who has my taste nailed.

The weather gods were shining on us and we were treated to sunshine pretty much alll day long!

There were lots of coffee stops…

(from weheartit)

Today is someone’s Birthday. A someone who is very precious to me. Someone who has seen me through the toughest times without ever losing faith. Someone who is like a best friend as well as a mother.

Happy Birthday Mum
(please don’t kill me when you see this post).

a well earned rest

Hello and welcome to a wet and windy Sunday! What happened to Spring? I am so glad that I’ve no intention of leaving the house today, it actually makes the weather more bearable…a sense of smugness that I can remain warm and dry in slobby clothes!

My busy week has finally ended! It was rounded off perfectly yesterday with an afternoon in Bristol spending Birthday money…I got a pretty good haul of clothes *and* have money left, which is you know..always good when your broke and in need of retail pick me ups from time to time!

Today is my Dad’s Birthday (Happy Birthday Dad, I love you!) and of course Birthdays call for cake,
so I made him one as part of his present from me. He’s a real chocoholic so I did a chocolate tray cake with chocolate buttercream and chocolate decorations. It’s a hit.

And here’s my outfit from Friday. I’m not feeling very inspired clothes wise at the moment so outfit posts will probably take a back seat for a little while, depending on my day to day mood!

Well, off to start my day of rest. I have a few little fun jobs to get done which includes catching up with everyone’s blogs (perhaps not such a little job!)

I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend, have you done anything exciting? Any fabulous shopping bargains?

26.12 aftermath

Hello!
I hope everyone survived Christmas and was spoiled rotten! I was, but details of that for another post!

We had a lovely quiet day, just Myself, Mum, Dad (slightly worse for wear!), Brother and Grandparents…and of course, Flash. Here are some photos of us all.

Myself and Dad

I think we have a very lazy day ahead of us here, I was the only one who didn’t drink, so the only one likely to feel like doing anything other than laze on the sofa!
I would go for a nice long walk, but I’m bruised and sore after a fall on the ice Christmas Eve, so I think I will be sloth like too!

Three days to go! As promised, here is the recipe for shortbread, found on www.allrecipes.co.uk

Photobucket

Ingredients:

250g (9 oz) plain flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

225g (8 oz) butter

100g (4 oz) caster sugar

Preparation:
1. Preheat oven to 170 C / Gas mark 3.
2. Sift together the flour, salt and baking powder. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the sifted dry ingredients and mix to combine. Chill until dough is easy to handle, about 10 minutes.
3. On a lightly floured surface roll dough out to 5cm (1/4 in) thick. Cut into desired shapes and place on ungreased baking trays.
4. Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes.

Have fun making it! I did.

And finally (I have no outfit to show from the past couple of days due to dressing to beat the cold and snow)
