happy/sad

Tights: c/o mytights
Dress: Jane Norman (old)
Boots: Yull
Hat: New Look
I’m going to preface this post by saying how much I hate how the photos I have come out; grey days and grey moods do not make it easy for my already lacking photographic skills but I also lack motivation to retake them…

Anyway, since I have re-found my love of tights I was pretty damn excited when mytights.com e-mailed me and asked if I’d like to select a pair of tights to feature on this here blog.
I had a good long browse through their amazing selection before finally settling on these rather fantastic (if poorly represented by myself) happy/sad face ones by Pamela Mann. They are so cute and fun to wear, I’m a bit worried I’ll ruin them really quickly as they are so sheer, but I do find Pamela Mann tights are quite hard wearing and I never begrudge the price tag (£8.99 for this pair) as they aren’t a one wear and they’re buggered kind of thing.

Have you shopped with MyTights before? Take a little look and let me know which pair you’d have chosen. I can’t wait until I’m a) in a better mood and b) the weather improves so I can have a proper play around with these.

Until then you’ll find me spending as much time as possible in ridiculous hats, drinking tea and trying not to feel sorry for myself. Good days are ahead. They really are.

Mustard top: Bershka
Tribal cardigan: Matalan
Skinny jeans: Oasis
Boots: c/o Sarenza
This outfit was a result of Monday afternoon “can’t be arsed” type thoughts. Tired from a morning taking blood and freezing cold I just pulled out whatever clothes looked like they might go together and hoped for the best.
I don’t know why I don’t wear this cardigan more, it’s so warm and snug. I struggle with the draping- some people make it look so effortless but I just find it awkward.
I’m so happy it’s mid-week, it feels like the weekend was forever ago. It’s been an oddly satisfying week so far though, in a way I can’t really explain. I’m starting to feel a bit more positive again too although whether that will still be the case the other side of my 7:15am start at work remains to be seen.
I’ve spent my spare time lately browsing the new arrivals on all the clothing websites I frequently haunt, my wish list is growing by the second and I am happy to see florals will once again reign supreme.
What have you spied that you hope to buy for the new season? I’ve never really planned ahead before but I’m starting to rethink that…a slow and steady influx of stylish basics can only be a good thing, right?

daisy, daisy

Dress: New Look (old)
Tee: Peacocks
Boots: c/o Sarenza
Bracelet: c/o Charmed Soul
I should probably start this post with an apology to the lovely Abigail at Charmed Soul for providing such a rubbish photo of the gorgeous bracelet that she created for me. As a new company she’s doing a great job of making 100% one off jewellery at affordable prices, making the perfect personalised present or sneaky treat (go on, you deserve it!). I love my  bracelet a lot, it really reminds me of Spring flowers and that alone makes me a very happy girl!
This dress is an old favourite from New Look that I coveted for ages, put off buying and then bagged for something stupid like £7 in the sale. I do love a dose of shopping karma. It’s a bit too small now but on days where I don’t mind not breathing at full capacity it’s a fun feel good. I wore it during the day on Saturday that mostly involved chilling out and doing some food shopping with the bestie before heading to a belated Christmas gathering with some of my oldest and dearest friends- where I proceeded to forget all about acting my age and reverted back to my 18 year old self, yeah…I won’t be repeating that in a hurry!

I’m seriously counting down the days to Spring now, after thinking I’d got away without my dose of January blues and feeling super positive about the world it seems they have hit…that’s not to say I’m not still positive, it’s just a little harder to see some of the time.

Take care all, and keep warm!

sixties (not so) chic

This is an outfit I’ve worn before and I remember feeling really smart and put together at the time, so much so I chose to wear it when I knew I was feeling a bit rubbish about myself in the hopes it’d pull me back out of that black hole…

Did it work? Well it never does, does it? I’ve been feeling so scruffy and insecure lately, but I still love the combinations in this outfit so I wore it regardless.

The dress was sent to me c/o Matalan, the top was bought in Holland the my boots are from my favourite Yull Shoes (hands down the best money I’ve ever parted with)

Anyone got snow? I love watching the country go in to meltdown. We get off lightly in my area and for that I am thankful, I’m hazard enough with the threat of ice and crutches although hopefully I can get rid of those as soon as I’ve had a scan done.

Well,
it’s onwards and upwards from here, last week seemed to be a tough ‘un for many people so fingers crossed we see some improvement.

Sarenza Sunday- getting hi

Guess- £72

Nike- £119.99

Guess- £84

Vagabond- £68

Adidas Originals- £87.50

With the new year comes sporting resolutions with people worldwide vowing to get fit. Not for me though, I’m not adverse to a bit of excersise but I’m kind of stranded on the sidelines at the moment, instead browsing Sarenza and hoping to look the part with their fantastic range of Hi-top trainers. For some reason I’m attracted to hi-tops despite rarely wearing a sports shoe (with exception to my converse) top of my list are the baby pink pair by Vagabond which I can see me getting a lot of wear out of both now and as the weather improves but I wouldn’t say no to any of those I featured above. I think I might have to take the plunge soon, give in to my urges and invest.

What are your thoughts on Hi-tops? I used to live in trainers until my late teenage years and now I barely look at them, I have bad memories of baggy jeans and random band hoodies…thank goodness those days are over!
