Sarenza Sunday- double up with Dune

It’s like Sarenza is out to get me and make me skint by adding these Monochrome beauties by Dune to their latest arrivals. How beautifully chic are these? I love the fact there’s an option for both the heel lovers and the flat fans.
The heeled version is called Benefit (and I can see many to these shoes) and costs £80. These seem to me the perfect work shoe and cost per wear will be next to nothing by the time A/W starts arriving in the shops!
The flats are called Maddoxs and cost £50. Perfect for those who love the look but can’t master heels these will go with pretty much anything you want them do and negate the sore foot issue.
Well,
that’s my trend radar well and truly sated for now, three posts where I feature something that’s “in” right now?! It feels strange, but I like it. This doesn’t mean I’ll be dressing top to toe in every trend going but I may make more effort to pay attention to and embrace what I like rather than let it all pass me by like the bad blogger I have been!
Are you a flats girl or heels lover?

neon lights

Jumper: Matalan
Jeans: Oasis
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell c/o Sarenza (in the sale here)
On Tuesday best friend and I went on a post-work trip down to our nearest Matalan, I had in mind that I might buy a new dress for the office (they have some amazing ones on the website) but within seconds of walking in the store I was blinded by this neon pink jumper and after debating it (loudly) whilst pottering I was persuaded to make the purchase. At £14 it was hardly extravagant and despite my reservations over whether I could pull off the colour I’m smitten. I went up a size to get a more relaxed fit. I probably should have put a top under it, but what’s a little bra between friends? Like I said yesterday, I’m not usually one to jump on a trend bandwagon, but I am enjoying this one!

Off on more adventures with best friend today, I never tire of spending time with her. We’re only off to Sainsburys on a comic relief merchandise mission but it’ll still end up being a giggle. Other than that I plan a lazy Saturday- a bit of time on the air walker, a hair wash and I may go so far as to  paint my nails seeing as I keep finding new polishes to buy.

What are you up to?

Jumper and Skirt both New Look
Boots: Yull
Hat: H&M
So, these photos really are rubbish- an experiment with early morning lighting but at the same time they kind of fit the theme of the post and so I’m sharing them regardless.
I’m not usually one to jump on trend bandwagons, I barely pay attention to them and buy what I think suits me instead…this season seems to be a little different though, there are several trends I’m really enjoying and one of those is monochrome. There’s something about the clean cut styles and bold contrast between black and white that really appeals to me. I have very chalk and cheese taste though, my second favourite trend is neon.
Another change for me is that I’m not usually a Topshop girl. I can usually quite happily take it or leave it whilst other bloggers fawn over every new arrival (this isn’t a criticism folks!) However my search for my favourite monochrome items on the high street led me to one place and one place only…behold!

This was just the tiniest selection of what I’m craving. All I need now is the Topshop budget; I find their prices hard to swallow at times…how do other people do it?

Happy March people; Spring is on it’s way!

purple haze days

Top: H&M
Boots: Miista
I am running out of excuses for the blurred photos so I guess we’ll just have to deal with them until I work out my camera, I feel like such a third rate blogger!
Anyway, I was out shopping with Becca and Ellie on Saturday when I saw this top on a mannequin in H&M and practically squealed. You can’t even see it properly here but it features two cats with gems on their heads; clearly I had to have it! The £12.99 price tag might have swayed me too, plus the fact I am in desperate need of more non-knitted tops in my wardrobe. I was worried when I bought it that it’d be too short and sized up, now I realise it’s a pretty good length and could probably do with being more fitted, but all the better to hide food babies with right?
Continuing with my purple theme today (the skirt is purple, honest) I wanted to show you my new glasses c/o Specsavers. The other week I took part in Pass the Specs and having fallen in love with the glasses I was blown away when Specsavers offered me a voucher to get a pair for myself. My local store didn’t have the exact same model but I was soon smitten with these purple frames and having picked them up yesterday I don’t think I’ll have trouble with not wanting to wear my glasses ever again! Thanks Specsavers.
Sorry my blog content has gone majorly downhill lately, I’m feeling really uninspired and a bit down and out about the photo situation. I guess I’m feeling a bit down and out in general but I’ll get over it, I always do! Spring is on it’s way and that is a reason to smile.
Well, off to work I go, followed by being on the other end of a needle for a change…I’m the worst patient for blood tests since I started taking them myself!

girly girl

Dress: c/o Phase Eight
Shoes: c/o Sarenza
Whatever outfits I decide to wear on any given day I’m still a girly girl at heart and will forever be drawn to all things pink and shiney- even better if it’s both together. The second I saw these shoes by Tamaris (not a brand I’d usually look at, I admit) on Sarenza I knew I needed them to be mine. At £34.99 they aren’t exactly expensive and are the perfect subtle way to embrace this season’s trend for all things metallic. I paired them with my beloved Phase Eight dress for their first airing although I couldn’t wear them all day as they need a little bit of breaking in first.
How are we almost at the end of the second month of this year? It’s scary and it’s worse when I think back to this time last year, so filled with sad and worrying events in the family and how long ago that seems now. As soon as the weather improves I plan to visit Sidmouth where my Nan’s ashes are scattered as I feel a sudden need to be near her. That might sound stupid, but I suppose anyone who has lost someone close to them will relate on some level.
Anyway, to focus on happier things I am pleased to say this year as so far proven to be better, all we need now is the arrival of Spring; I can’t bring myself to start planning my S/S wardrobe fully whilst I’m still shivering in knits and complaining about the weather every two seconds. I’m really loving the new season trends- especially monochrome, metallics and neon and can’t wait to stock up. What will you be wearing when things warm up? I’m also starting to get excited for swimwear in anticipation of my August holiday. Black sequin bikini from Asos, you WILL be mine!
