bat girl

Top: ebay
Skirt c/o Ax Paris
Tights c/o Tabio
Dr Martens via Sarenza
I never thought I’d buy in to yet another trend but this top from ebay was SUCH a bargain at under a fiver and so fun I couldn’t not get it. This outfit was a bit OTT for a simple Saturday but it was fun so I didn’t care much…I think I’ve got to the stage in life where I really don’t give a crap what other people think anymore, as long as I’m comfortable then all is good.
I’m glad I didn’t jinx myself wishing for a calmer week because if yesterday was anything to go by it really won’t be. I’ll be glad when the long Easter Weekend rolls around so I can have a breather…I wouldn’t change it for the world though, I’ve never been so happy with, or in love with life. I’ve started to think more seriously about what I want to do job wise in the future and have some pretty exciting options to explore, it won’t happen for a little while yet…I need to get driving sorted for one thing but it’s something to look forward to!
Well, I hope you lot had a calmer start to the week! At least the sun shone.

Monday Blues

Dress c/o love struck
Boots: New Look
Back to earth with a bump this Monday after a lovely weekend. Technically I have nothing to grumble about as I don’t start work until 2pm but after such good times it’s hard not to feel a little disheartened.
It was one of those weekends that involved best friends, family and good food; every weekend should consist of those three vital ingredients in my opinion. My little cousin drove down to visit us from Birmingham and despite me being antisocial cow on Saturday, Sunday involved a wonderful carvery lunch (my first in, well, almost eleven years, yay recovery!) and time spent laughing and chatting.
This week I’m not even going to bother jinxing myself and hoping things will be quieter because they never are! I don’t have quite so much on as I did last week or the week before but life has a funny way of becoming chaotic when you least expect it!
Short and sweet post this morning, it’s early. I’m awake because my body thinks it’s working all day (and soon it will be on a Monday, yay!) and I’m desperate to crawl back under the duvet with a mug of coffee and my book. I can’t break this early morning blogging habit though. I just can’t.
What did you get up to this weekend?

WIN any dress you like from Chi Chi

Way back before Christmas when I was searching for the perfect party dress I showed off the gorgeous dress sent to me by Chi Chi and many of you admired it greatly.
I’m really pleased to announce that Chi Chi would now like to give a reader of my little blog the chance to win their own dress, of their choosing from the website (this does exclude the Couture range however).
Entering is really, really simple; there are just a couple of simple rules:

1. You must be a fan of the Chi Chi facebook page, so if your not already then pop along and click like.

2. You then need to leave a comment on this here blog post with the name you’ve liked the page under (so I can check) and a way for me to contact you if you win (e-mail/blog/twitter/facebook) as well as a link to which dress you’d choose if you won because I’m nosy like that.
3. The giveaway is open to UK residents only I’m afraid.
4. You have until Sunday 31st March to enter (Easter treat!)

And that’s it. Good luck ladies!

Sarenza Sunday: A Step too Far?

Believe it or not, the hi-tops above are by Converse; the brand I probably least expected to jump on the wedge trainer trend.
I’m not sure how I feel about this, I’m not against the trend in general, I do indeed own a pair of wedge trainers, but Converse? A brand I associate as a classic, who’s idea of following trends is to release some cool patterns and new season colours…I’m not sure I’m ok with this.
They aren’t offensive to look at, far from it, I just think my traditionalist instinct kicks in a bit here and says no. I guess they will be a marmite shoe, one that tears shoe lovers apart- what are your thoughts on this new venture from Converse? Maybe I’ll come around to the idea, maybe I’ll eventually end up owning a pair, but I doubt it. For me, my Converse-d feet need to stay flat on the ground and my next purchase will probably be something girly and pastel as a nod to Summer.
Should you wish to purchase them (and I won’t hold it against you) they are available here at Sarenza ((and this post is in no way criticising Sarenza, I was just scouring the new arrivals and saw these!))
I’d be really interested in hearing how you feel.
