bright spark

Dress c/o Fashion Culprit
Tights: Matalan
Neon Vans c/o Sarenza
These neon vans aren’t as orange as my poor photography makes them seem, you can see the colour more accurately here. I guess these shoes show how much my style has changed, a year or so ago I wouldn’t have opted for something so casual, or so bright, thinking that styling them would be limited to jeans and jeans only but actually they are really quite versatile (not to mention comfortable) and go with more of my wardrobe than I first thought.
It’s quite clear now I’m well and truly loving the neon trend, I’m not brave enough to translate it to much of my clothing- I fear it’d wash me out even more, but shoes…well, bring it on. I’m game for all things bright and beautiful. This is my first ever pair of Vans and I’m a convert. Every bit as comfortable as my beloved yet scruffy Converse I wish I could wear them 24/7.
Time to embrace the Friday madness at work. I’m not sure where this week has gone, at all. I’m really looking forward to the end of the working day and the start of the weekend, I have some pretty awesome plans and a lot of sleep to catch up on!
What have you got planned?

back to school

Pinafore: ebay
Shirt c/o Glamour Magazine for Very
Boots: New Look
It can’t have failed to pass people by that pinafores are having a moment right now. I’ve been coveting once since they first started cropping up, well, everywhere but begrudged paying £20+ for something I’m probably not going to wear all that much.
A bit of random ebay browsing one weekend led to finding this little number costing under £12 including postage. I wasn’t expecting anything great to be honest, you don’t when you pay that kind of price but to my amazement this is actually really rather good quality so I’ll probably wear it more than anticipated.
I paired it with this shirt, the only white shirt I own and a recent acquisition thanks to the Glamour Magazine and Very collaboration that I featured last week. I knew there was a reason I didn’t own a white shirt though, I had been wearing it all of five minutes when I noticed a splash of black coffee and a smudge of makeup on it. I need to be more careful, I need more classics like this in my wardrobe.
Final stretch to the weekend,
it’s been a funny week once again, when aren’t they these days? Life is madness,
beautiful madness.

treasure hunt

Auctions have always fascinated me, the closest I’ve got so far however is ebay which I don’t think really counts!
Enter brand new website and concept Barnebys.co.uk where users can search over 10,000 ongoing auctions from some of the best auction houses in the UK.
Looking for the perfect piece of vintage furniture or something quirky for a unique gift? Just type in what it is your looking for and Barnebys will do the hard work for you.
Barnebys was first launched in Sweden in 2011 and finding great success there went on to launch across all the Scandinavian countries before launching just now in the UK.
Properly intrigued by this I had a browse for some vintage costume jewellery and the results were impressive! You can make your search more specific, narrowing it down to certain regions and auction houses and it’s good fun to look through what comes up. I’m yet to make a purchase but to me Barnebys.co.uk is a valuable addition to my online browsing repertoire and an excellent away to while away some hours. I’ll keep you updated if I do make any purchases…this really is the ultimate treasure hunt!
Have you bought from auctions before, be it real life or online ones? I want to hear stories and what you found.

(brit)stitched

Dress: Dorothy Perkins
Leggings: New Look
Boots: Jeffrey Campbell at Sarenza
Bag: c/o Brit-Stitch
Say hello to my most favourite bag ever (even more favourite than my beloved Marc by Marc Jacobs). It was bought in to my life courtesy of fledgling brand Brit-Stitch who only launched in December but, if this satchel is anything to go by are destined for greatness.
Currently Brit-Stitch don’t sell on their own website but they are stocked in an ever growing number of retailers including The Hut and Kuji Shop. There’s a bag for everyone, from the teeny tiny milkman style to the office satchel like mine in a whole rainbow of colours (mine is called Chintz Rose)
If you’re a bag lover and want to support a Great British Brand then watch this space. It won’t be long before everyone is talking about Brit-Stitch and you can follow their every movement on the brand’s facebook and twitter pages.
Take a little peek at the links I’ve provided, I’d love to hear what you think and which style you would go for.

I have a lot of love for these Neon Flash shoes from Chockers
at only £30 they are the perfect way to bring your feet in to the new season. I’m thinking they’d be perfect for the evenings on a beach holiday,
or to generally jazz up girly floral dresses and dark denim.

A bright bargain in my eyes!
