HairX from Oriflame

As you can probably see, I’m having a bit of a hair nightmare at the moment. It’s become fine, lank and generally not how it was over the summer and I’m seeking desperately for a solution.
Part of that solution could well be the new shampoo I’m trialing from Oriflame (yep, hair care as well as fabulous mascaras!)

“New HairX Care has been specially developed to nourish your scalp, the birthplace of healthy hair. The new and improved HairX range is now formulated with powerful antioxidant 6-GINGEROL which helps to protect the scalp, giving visibly healthier hair from root to tip. Just as beautiful flowers need nourishment from the root, a healthy scalp is the foundation for beautiful hair”

For those who are wondering (I know I was) 6-Gingerol is a compound found in Ginger.

This combination of science and nature so far seems to be doing my hair the world of good. It smells delightful and lathers up well and my hair hasn’t felt so…clean and weightless as it does right now without compromising on what little volume is left.

The HairX range compromises of six solutions, to help everything from a flaky scalp through to frizzy nightmares.
I’m using the Volume Boost edition for fine hair right now.

You can purchase the shampoo, or other elements of the HairX range from the Oriflame website. Until the 18th October there are some fabulous deals on the prices too so if you want to try them I wouldn’t hang around. Not that Oriflame charge the earth anyway. Quality and value, now that’s what I like!
What are your hair solutions?
And…what shall I do with my hair next? I’m feeling a change coming on…

colours of autumn

Dress and Boots both New Look last year
Tights: Betsey Johnson
Welcome back non-boring tights! It’s been a while right? Autumn to me means the chance to work my way through my huge stash of tights. I have so many pairs (and yet no plain black ones for work without massive holes in the feet)
The colours in this outfit coincided with our first properly Autumnal feeling day- grey skies, drizzle and leaves littering the pavements. I do love this time of year, not as much as I love Summer but it’s so pretty and preferable to Winter’s bitter chills.
I really need to swap my wardrobe over, sort through the jumpers and other bits that I’ve stashed away. It’s also a good time to re-assess some of my warm weather wear and have a bit of a cull. Does anyone else do this? It’s a twice a year ritual for me and gives me an idea of what clothes I need to replace and what I can justify treating myself to. I don’t want to buy too much this season as things are changing but a few treats here and there never hurt, right?
I need to do the same with my shoes, too. With my foot showing no signs of improvement just yet I could probably stand to banish a few pairs to storage, or e-bay. Tough though, I hate parting with footwear.
Well,
off to work again. I’m on clinics most of this week which means uniform, uniform and more uniform. Just as well I suit navy right?

Blimey, BHS

When asked to think of high street stores BHS probably isn’t the first one that’s going to spring to mind; that’s how it was for me, everyone knows of the shop but I’m not sure I know many people (myself included) who shop there.
I’m gonna need to re-think that now though. They have launched a seriously covetable Autumn Winter collection which includes some perfect Little Black Dresses (an essential for this season), work wear to stand out and look smart in, shoes that have me wanting to run there right now and get some as well as coats, knits and, well, basically anything you could ever want.
I have so many memories of shopping in BHS as a child with my Mum and Nan. I believe I once owned several Lion King jumpers that came from there as well as some purple jeans and countless pairs of PJs. It’s a shop that has stood the test of time where many others have failed and it looks like now they’ve moved up several gears and given themselves a re-vamp.
High up on my wish list is this gorgeous fit and flare lace dress, I can’t get it off my mind now I’ve seen it.
I don’t believe I’ve mentioned the accessories yet either?! Jewellery to die for, sleek and chic gloves and some seriously snuggly scarves.
Whilst you’re browsing it’s probably worth checking out the Christmas shop too, oh and the homewares and the sale. I’ve been browsing for about half an hour.
To accompany the collection there’s this seriously seductive video…seriously, when did BHS get so cool?

What do you think? Will you be checking out BHS? What do you think of the video? Unexpectedly sexy, that’s what I think.

Music on the Move with Nude Audio

Since being with Ben I’ve become a serious music fanatic again. It started with the occasional listen on Spotify or when I was at his but now I can’t bear to be without music, especially when I’m falling asleep.
This was proving to be a problem as falling asleep with headphones in is a) uncomfortable and b) a bit dangerous so I had started to look around for some Wireless Speakers. Literally a day in to my search I received an e-mail asking if I wanted to try out a portable Bluetooth speaker from the folks at Nude Audio
Problem solved!

First up, I loved the look of this speaker, so bright and fun! It’s also really neat and compact meaning I can pack it in my handbag or backpack to take my music anywhere I please!
The size did make me wonder what the sound quality would be like- could it give a good playback being so dinky?
Yes, yes it can. This thing packs some serious punch and I’m loyal to it already! It’s super simple to set up and can be used for non Bluetooth devices too thanks to a simple cable. It has approx 8 hours of battery life which is pretty good and it charges up via a USB.
The speakers cost between £19.99 (for the S size) through to £99.99 (for the L). My speaker is the M variety.
All speakers come in a choice of two colours- the charcoal/coral like mine or a pretty grey/mint combination.
And what have I been listening to most lately?
This catchy little number that Ben introduced me to at the weekend.
He has seriously crazy guitar skills!

bright lights

Jumper c/o Skip n Whistle
Skirt: Glamorous
Boots c/o Shoe Zone
Ahh this skirt, I’ve only had the balls to wear it once despite loving it, it’s so bright it sends off a pink glow when I wear it and I’m always a bit nervous of attention when I’m out in public. However I did decide to brave it on Thursday, which was so grey and rainy it needed some serious brightness. I think I cheered up Tesco at least.
How was everyone’s weekend? I’m exhausted and on a long, long day at work. Winning combination I’m sure!
Grand designs live was fantastic though, as was trekking around Birmingham and having a gorgeous meal out with Ben so it was worth it. I wouldn’t be half as tired if it wasn’t for mega bus breaking down and causing us to be well over an hour and a half late getting back…that in itself can’t be helped but I was appalled at the attitude of one of  their drivers who we asked for help when he stopped off to drop off some passengers on his way to Leeds. I’m not one to complain but I did shoot off an angry e-mail to mega bus about that one!
Sunday at least was more relaxed, once we eventually woke up. The sun was out and the temperature balmy for October so we went to the nearby park for a walk and a picnic. We attempted to feed the ducks but they were having none of it.
It’s so nice to be living a normal life these days, so nice. This recovery journey may be tempting to give up on at times but weekends like the one just gone remind me what I’d lose if I gave up now…onwards and upwards eh,
to a fulfilled live and a heavier (do I need to be?! my head can’t decide) me.
Have a great week!
