the answers post

Well, here I am finally getting round to answering the questions that you lovely lot asked, I swear I don’t know where time has gone lately!
1. Any items of clothing you didn’t buy, then it was too late and you’ve regretted it forever? There’s a Lux coat from Urban Outfitters that will haunt me forever – I wish I’d bought it so badly.
Not that I can recall- there probably is but nothing that really sticks out which probably means it wasn’t that great anyway!

2. WHERE DID THIS BOY COME FROM?
The boy and I met online, on a dating site to be more specific. I think we’d both signed up for a laugh really and after chatting about nothing much at all for weeks/months we met for a coffee as we thought we’d make good friends. Well, we’ve ended up more than friends and I couldn’t be happier or luckier. Sometimes the best things happen when you aren’t really looking. Maybe one day he’ll appear on the blog. Maybe.

3. How did you come across the deliciousness that is the Nutella brownie recipe?
I don’t really know, it was a while ago I found it- I think I was just randomly browsing food blogs and found it on one of those, I spend far too much of my time looking for new recipes (and far too little time making them!)

4. How did you get into blogging?
Pass! General curiosity I think, I’ve kept online journals for many years and probably four or five years ago now started seeing fashion blogs pop up and decided to give it a go myself; it’s been crazy watching the blogging community grow- when I started there were only a handful of blogs, now there are thousands.

5. Favorite sweetie?
Ahh..it’s taken me far too long to decide on my answer for this, there are so many sweets that I love…but overall I think it has to be jelly beans.

6. What’s your favorite kind of music to listen to?
I am only just getting back in to music again, I don’t have a favourite kind as such, I prefer a variety to suit my mood- anything from Reggae to Folk, it really just depends!

7. If money was not an option where in the world would you live (family could join you of course if you wanted.
Spain I think, near Malaga but out of the way a little bit. There is something so laid back about the lifestyle there as well as the gorgeous buildings and general good weather.

8. You seem to wear something different in every post, it seems like your wardrobe must be huge soooooo, what is your most favourite item that you just love wearing over and over again?
Really? I feel like I wear the same things all the time! My wardrobe is quite vast, I admit but not as big as people seem to think! My favourite and most worn item is probably my Motel feather print dress, it’s perfect for work and for weekends.

9. If you could only shop in one store/online website forever, which would you choose?
ASOS, without a doubt, you can get everything on there now!

10. What would you say is you biggest regret and what are you most proud of?
I don’t think I have any regrets, everything that’s happened in the past has made me who I am today and I think who I am today, compared to what I could have been is probably what I am most proud of.
11. Who are your biggest blog-inspirations?
Any blogger who loves what they do and stays true to themselves is an inspiration, so if I read your blog (which if you’ve ever left a comment here, I probably do) then you are an inspiration. If I had to narrow it now I would have to say Hayley, the brains behind Bonjour Blogger for being awesome, inspiring and fantastic company.

12. What changes are you planning on making next?
I plan to get myself to a point where I am the healthiest and best version of myself I can possibly be. I want to work hard and progress at work, I want to change up the blog a bit…so many changes I want to make, none of them drastic but they will make a big difference. It’s hard to narrow it down!

13. If you were a kind of food what would you be and why?
I’d be a sweetie of some kind, a dolly mixture maybe? Everyone likes sweeties, and I’d like to be one!

14. Has your relationship with your mum always been so close? (It’s very sweet!)
We have always been close but never as close as we are now- our relationship has strengthened through me being ill I think, she’s been the most amazing support and I wouldn’t be alive now without her. I’m so grateful to her and we’re more like best friends than mother/daughter. I’m lucky in that my whole family is close, I’ll never take that for granted.

Thank you to everyone for taking the time to ask me questions- sorry I haven’t answered everyone’s, some I couldn’t think of answers to and one I didn’t deem necessary to answer. Got any more burning queries? Drop ’em in the comment box below.

tied up

Skirt: Zara
Shoes: Bertie at Sarenza
I’d already bought and worn this blouse in a boring fashion when I saw a mannequin in Urban Outfitters wearing it tied up like this. I really liked how it looked, although they had teamed it with denim shorts and decided to give it a go myself.
I’m not usually one for walking around like this- in fact I did chicken out and put it back to normal not long after taking these photos but I tried…at least I can say I tried.
I wore this outfit on Sunday, down to Sidmouth where we scattered my Nan’s ashes last year. These shoes may be ugly but damn they are comfortable and actually, there is something oddly endearing about them.
Today is going to be a good one, I can tell. I’m at work until one then coming home to chill with the boy, my brother and his girlfriend (bro meets boy for the first time) and then we’re all heading out to dinner with my parents and Grandad too. It doesn’t get much better!
What are you up to tonight?

Daniel Radcliffe returns to the West End

I haven’t really paid much attention to Daniel Radcliffe aside from his Harry Potter days but I have to say I’m curious about his latest adventure in which he makes his return to the West End in dark comedy The Cripple of Inishmaan.
The plot for the play is outlined as:
Set on the small Aran Islands community of Inishmaan off the Western Coast of Ireland, c. 1934, the inhabitants are excited to learn of a Hollywood film crew’s arrival in neighbouring Inishmore to make a documentary about life on the islands. “Cripple” Billy Claven, eager to escape the gossip, poverty and boredom of Inishmaan, vies for a part in the film, and to everyone’s surprise, the orphan and outcast gets his chance”

The production first opened in 1996 and now it is making it’s return at the Noel Coward theatre for 12 weeks only- running until 31st August.
If it were easier for me to get to London without the whole trip costing an absolute fortune I think I’d be going to see this, the plot sounds gripping and it’d be good to see if Daniel can move beyond the Harry Potter I see him as in my head.

What do you think? Would you go and see this, or have you seen it?

making waves

Vest: ASOS
Skirt and Shoes: New Look
Picked up a couple of these ASOS vests a few weeks ago now- £6 each and a dream fit, I’m trying to build up a few staples in my wardrobe so I expect I’ll be ordering more colours soon.
I’m so happy with how my hair turned out the other week, the hairdresser used a new (to me) product on it- Matrix Get Action spray wax which has proven to be a miracle worker. I never used to be one to splurge on hair products but this has swayed me and it’ll be a repeat purchase.
Have you discovered any little miracles? This and salt water spray keep my waves, well, wavy.
Wednesday again- I can’t believe it. Apparently we’re in for ten days of glorious sunshine which if true couldn’t be better time as my brother is home for a few days and I have a weekend planned with the boy which I hope can involve lots of chilling out in the park. That and of course we’re long overdue decent weather!
It’s been a good week so far, I’m writing this stupidly early from the comfort of my new bed- my first “grown up” furniture purchase. I feel happy, life is good and I hope it is for everyone else, too.
What’s going on?

Pepsi Max #LiveForNow

So, I’m not overly familiar with London Town but I know there are some pretty fun and exciting things to do there- some of which I have explored (hello M&M world!) and some of which are on my ever-growing “must do” list. This campaign from Pepsi Max, called #LiveForNow features Dynamo as he explores the sights of London in the most extreme and fun looking way possible…if only it was possible for us all to do it like that! I really like the ethos of this campaign, taking time to make the most of what’s around you and looking at it from a new perspective. It’s something that I’ve tried to employ in my every day life and so far, it’s working. The world is suddenly an exciting and freeing place to be and I can honestly say I’ve never been happier; I wake up each day curious to see what new adventure lays ahead, even if it does land me in stressful situations at times. As many of you know, I’m recovering (still) from an Eating Disorder and something I’ve learnt over the years is that life is too damn short and we really all do need to #LiveForNow
