Holiday Wishlist

My holiday countdown has been going on for quite some time now (since it was booked in January if I’m honest)
Now there is only a month to go I’m realising how little swimwear and other holiday essentials I actually own. I’ve stocked up on some cheap bikinis but would also like something a bit more…high quality (no disrespect to the cheaper retailers). This has led to an awful lot of bikini browsing which has led to discovering Holiday Wardrobe a bit of a must visit if you’re going away any time soon (or just for a browse). Stocking a huge array of brands at really good prices, this site has everything you could need for a break in the sun (or rain) and more!
Anyway,
I allowed myself an indulgent moment to compile a little wishlist…
Mari Meili- £29.99

Havianas- £24.99- so worth the money, I live in my pairs during summer

South Beach- £29.99

Ichi- £24.99

Traveller- £12.99- not just headwear, also makes a rather useful fan.

Roxy- £59.99
What do you think of my little wishlist? Are you planning a holiday in the sun, or have you already had one? Tell me holiday tales, please…feed my excitement for Spain!

half the year just passed me by

Top: Asda (last year)
Jeans/Leggings: Uniqlo
Shoes: Bertie @ Sarenza
Uniqlo has become my new online shopping obsession- I’ve placed a couple of orders in the last month during my mission to stock up on basics. One of those purchases were these jeans/leggings- so far out of my comfort zone they may as well be residing in Australia and yet oddly, I like them. Perhaps it was the £14.90 price tag, perhaps it is the fact they are so damn comfortable, or maybe it’s simply that I am becoming more confident in my own skin. Either way I’ll be investing in more pairs of these at some point, they do so many colours and prints that it’s near impossible to choose.
My best Uniqlo buys however have to be their basic v-neck tees; I first bought some years ago and they wash and wear so well that I didn’t really need replace them. I’m also a fan of their collaborations with designers and companies, from Cath Kidston to Pixar there are fun, good quality and affordable designs for all, even the boy has benefited with a Monsters University tee.
Anyway, I digress as this post isn’t about Uniqlo (and I’m not being paid to talk about them I swear) it’s just a dull outfit post showing what I currently live in when slobbing around the house, time spent doing which is rare these days. It’s been a blissfully chilled out (boiling hot) weekend spent with the boy and one of my Aunts and cousins (+ two very young babies) and I’m ready for another week although the rate they are passing is a little disconcerting. I’ll be off to Spain in a few weeks, for 13 days this time- I cannot wait.
Well,
I hope everyone else had a good weekend, was it the promised heat wave where you were?

Sarenza Sunday- Super Supra

Since injuring my foot last October I’ve been forced to embrace sporty shoes as they are more supportive and generally more comfortable than other types of flat (and I’m still sulking that after the steroid injection I’ve had no relief and I’m still not back in heels!)
Thank goodness for Sarenza and their wide variety of casual yet stylish footwear- from the ever popular Converse and Vans to the more up and coming brands like Supra. I’m currently coveting these new in Skytop w high tops in the cheery Acid Yellow/Light Grey combo. Priced at £68 these are middle of the road of the sports shoe price range, I’m seriously considering these. Supportive, stylish and versatile; jeans, dresses…the only place I couldn’t/wouldn’t wear them is work!
I’ve heard Supra  is becoming a BIG deal right now although until recently I didn’t know they existed! Were they on your radar? Will you be sporting (haa) a pair any time soon?

daisy chain dreaming: literary emporium

It was actually my Mum who stumbled across this little gem of a shop- the Literary Emporium sells, as the name would suggest a wide array of gorgeous gifts for book worms and literature lovers.
I’ll let the owner, Rio take over here and tell you a little bit about the brand as I can never find words to do such places justice…
“Literary Emporium is a giftware brand that specialises in handmade jewellery, stationery and gifts inspired by great works of literature.
Literary Emporium was born after I completed my English degree and was a result of my love of classic literature and beautiful books. The range started with a single postcard featuring a famous quote from Wuthering Heights, in homage to my dissertation subject. My interest in crafts then led me to create handmade necklaces with a literary twist. I was lucky that other people seem to like literature as much as me and started to buy my jewellery and postcards.
I have now created lots of different items for the Literary Emporium brand including wedding confetti and bracelets. I am always working on new designs and looking to my bookcase for inspiration”

There is SO much on the site that I have bookmarked to buy, namely jewellery I must admit. My first purchase (and I don’t know how much longer I can hold off) is this Keats Silver Dewdrop Necklace on sale for just £9.60. Keats is one of my favourite ever poets so it goes without saying that I need this in my life.

Are you an avid reader? Take a look at the Literary Emporium– have a favourite book or author that isn’t on the site? You can make your request in the custom design section. Brilliant. Utterly brilliant.

(I must mention that Rio is super friendly and helpful too!)
