who wears the trousers?

I can count the number of times I’ve worn trousers to work on one hand…I just never really do. Yesterday, however I woke up with the urge to dig out this Topshop pair from last summer; I love their slouchy fit and spring/summer worthy colour.
I teamed them with this butterfly top from New Look and my favourite Jeffrey Campbell shoes c/o Sarenza. I really must wear trousers more often, I forget how comfortable they can be!

I am SO glad it’s the weekend. I’m off to Birmingham today, then have a few days chilling out before going over to Bath for the day to spend quality time with my Mum and spend my Birthday money (though it still baffles me that I actually had a Birthday!) I must resist spending alllll my cash on chickpeas in Holland & Barrett…my addiction is STILL raging!

What are you up to this weekend? Anything fun and/or exciting?

The Ultimate Swimwear from Rigby & Peller

I’m getting really excited over swimwear this season; for the first time in years I have plans for a sunshine holiday, and even though I am yet to book it I have already bought a bikini and a swimsuit!

When the press release introducing Rigby and Peller’s swimwear arrived I found myself wishing I had an unlimited budget and somewhere truly fabulous to wear these pieces! From top to bottom, here we have… Gottex (£163), Maryan coverup (£94.95) and Maryan swimsuit (£179)

As you’d expect, all of Rigby and Peller’s swimwear is made with the perfect fit in mind and their expert fitters will help you find the perfect suit without the need for a last minute panic fuelled crash diet (utterly pointless!)
You can book a complimentary swimwear fitting at any one of Rigby and Peller’s six stores, complete with expert advice.

Rigby & Peller’s stores are located in and around London in some of the most prestigious shopping locations, including Knightsbridge, Mayfair, Chelsea, Westfield, Cambridge and Bluewater, or view the collection online at www.rigbyandpeller.com.

What do you think? And where are you off to this year?

Forever Friends

Friendship has been on my mind a lot lately; perhaps because of the death of my Nan, and perhaps because of the up-coming wedding of one of my closest school friends…whatever the reason, I’ve been thinking, and thinking inevitably leads to me blogging because that’s just what I do.

I consider myself extremely lucky with friends. All through secondary school I had the most legendary group of friends and to this day we are (mostly) still in touch despite life having taking us separate ways. I’m very aware that at times I have been a downright nightmare, an anti-social stroppy cow who does stupid things…and yet still, still these people stick by me, support me time after time and let me know they care. I’ve lost count of the wonderful things they have done for me over the years; from surprise parties to surprise hospital visits (and err, helping me plant toothbrushes in a garden) and one day I hope I can do something to show them how much  they all mean to me.

And then there are the online friends, the ones I have met and never met. The bloggers, the tweeters and the e-mailers who are always there to lend an ear, dish out advice, make a decision or make me laugh. The ones who introduce me to Yo! Sushi and a proper G&T. Chances are that if you are reading this post you are among those friends…and so I’d just like to say thank you.

One thing the last month has taught me is never to take what you have for granted. Appreciate it, it can be taken away in the blink of an eye.

On that note, I am going to take my own advice, stop being so loner-ish and make more effort to show the people I care about most that I can still be that fun and happy girl…and show them ALL a good time. (And yes, that does mean trying harder to get to more blogger related things, too)

Thank you.

sunny intervals and explorations

Matalan dress (old), Shellys shoes c/o Sarenza…on the days I do my 7:15am start I have to chuck something simple to change in to once I’ve done my blood taking clinic so I don’t keep my colleagues on reception waiting as I change out of my uniform! Today it was my ever faithful floral Matalan dress, purchased for the bargain price of £16 and worn to death. Inspired by my Sarenza post the other day I dug out my Shellys “Whiskey Mist” shoes, embracing the non-forecasted sunshine and breaking away from the boots. As much as I love my collection of boots I am dying to break out the summer shoes!

Mae is loving this weather, exploring the garden! She’s calmed down a lot since we started getting her outside and by the time she comes in all she wants is some sleepy cuddles (especially when one is wearing black tights!)

Because I truly am besotted with this little beast, I am also sharing a video I got of her having a little play…excuse my lame voice and moments of dullness!

So glad it’s Thursday, the weekend is finally within reach!
