Classical

My shopping trip on Tuesday may not have been a success for new season pieces, but for bargain wardrobe basics it couldn’t be beat…this “it’ll never date” shift dress was reduced to £10 in the Dorothy Perkins sale, and being the savvy shoppers that we are, my Mum snapped up the black version so we can mix and match.

I’m kind of loving these mid-season sales actually, yesterday yielded 2 pastel tees in New Look for a mere £3 each and an orange floral dress for £9.

So much for trying to curb my spending; I’ve noticed a lot of bloggers going on a spending ban of late and dammit, I admire your discipline!

Snapped up any bargains lately?

Full Repair

A few days ago I posted this little puzzle for you and I can now reveal to you the solution…

The full repair range from John Frieda; The range is a new innovation designed specifically for women who style or colour their hair on a regular basis. Not only will the range repair the look and feel of hair without weighing it down, but it will also protect against heat damage meaning you can style your hair without the guilt!

I was sent the range to review; as someone who both styles and colours her hair on a regular basis (my poor frazzled fringe and over-dyed ends) it’s exactly what my hair was looking for. I’ve only used the products once, so far as they arrived just the other day, but first impressions count for a lot..and the first impression these products made was GOOD. I’m a long term fan of John Frieda hair products, and these new additions to the range are most welcome.

Available in Boots, Superdrug and all the usual places.

Have you tried these yet? What are your hair care heroes?

YULL shoes; Made in England

Long time blog readers will know how much I champion Sarah, the brains and beauty behind shoe label Yull; I currently own two pairs- Chelsea and Primrose and I can’t speak highly enough of the design and craftmanship.

Sarah got in touch the other day to let me know that Yull is the only independent now manufacturing ladies’ high heels in the UK, which is really quite incredible! The photos above showcase a few of the newest styles from Yull, but I decided against sharing them all…because that means you’ll have to wait and take a look yourself!
The shoes are also being made as small as a 2.5 now for you petite ladies out there; I know this will be good news for some!

Watch a Yull shoe being made!

What do you think folks? Have I sold you on the wonder of these shoes yet? I really can’t speak highly enough, and yes, they may be more expensive than popping along to the highstreet, but I can personally vouch for the comfort and longevity of these shoes; coupled with the fact they are made with love and care!

Happy Saturday folks, enjoy your weekend

((and please note Sarah did not pay/bribe/maim/torture me in to writing this post. I just love her, and her brand a lot more than is healthy))

stand-in pet

Two days off work sick, moping around the house. Day two was an improvement in that I actually changed out of leggings and jumper dress in to something more presentable.
In the absence of a pet to cuddle (I miss you Flash), I popped on my Miss Selfridge bunny jumper as some kind of consolation. Worn with New Look supersoft skinny jeans and Bertie shoes c/o Sarenza, which really I only put on for photos as I hadn’t left the house in 48 hours.

Back at work today, I have an amusing “not quite there” voice, and a lovely cough, but I feel a thousand times more human than I did, and to be honest…as much as I moan about work sometimes, that place actually keeps me sane.

Happy Friday folks! Don’t forget the giveaway here
