Tech: Top Three Phone Cases

The second I had an iPhone in my possession I started frantically collecting cases and covers for it. I don’t think I’m alone in my obsession with tech adornment though as I spend rather a lot of my time scouring blogs for where to find the coolest designs. Today I thought I’d pop together a little post on my top three cases, as despite having a rather large collection by this point there really are only a handful I switch between on a regular basis (any one else a case hoarder?)
As you can see, I mainly opt for a cat theme when I’m shopping for accessories. It’s not intentional but always seems to happen. Dedicated to my feline friends for life!
This rose gold crystal bumper case came c/o mobilefun and is the case I use for when I don’t want to make a massive statement but still want my phone to look well dressed. With a flexible clear cover and rigid rose gold bumper this case offers the ultimate protection from my clumsy nature and chronic butterfingers. How I’ve survived 18 months with my current phone and not damaged it beyond repair is largely down to this addition to my case army!
This sparkly little number came via e-bay and cost me the princely sum of £1.29 and for novelty factor it can’t be beaten! The quality isn’t the best, which you’d expect at that price but considering it features unicorns, cats and glitter that moves I can forgive it a few little cracks.
It was thanks to blogging that my obsession with Skinnydip London began and the second I saw this mer-cat design I knew I had to have it. I’m starting to wonder if there is any blogger out there without a Skinnydip case for their phone, but with such a huge array of fun designs it’s no wonder!

If the Shoe Fits with Long Tall Sally

It’s probably hard to believe now but when I was much younger I dreaded buying shoes. As a tall kid with large (not to mention wide) feet the only styles available to me were incredibly clumpy and supremely unflattering. These days it’s much easier to find pretty shoes in bigger sizes and one of my go to places is of course Long Tall Sally who stock a huge array of footwear in sizes 7-13.
From today Long Tall Sally are running a campaign called “If the Shoe Fits” and as part of that they invited me to pick out a pair of shoes to flatter larger feet from their high summer collection. It was no easy task thanks to the huge selection of on trend styles but in the end I settled on the perfect sandals which look and feel amazing whilst preventing a dreaded “clown feet” type feel which often happens with the more trend-led styles available on the high street.

Aren’t they beautiful? I love the lace up shoes that are everywhere right now but have found the flat versions do nothing for me as they elongate my feet and make me feel quite self conscious. The heel on these is perfect height for getting a little bit of boost without leaving me towering alarmingly high over everybody else, and they are quite honestly the comfiest sandals I have ever worn. I’m pretty sure I’ve found my shoe of the summer and it’s one I’ll have no qualms about wearing to anywhere and for everything!

To see more of the Long Tall Sally “If the Shoe Fits” campaign you can click here and make sure you check out my social media (twitter and instagram) to see the Spring “Shoefie” I snapped whilst taking these for a spin.

Fellow tall girls, which shoe styles do you find most flattering and are there any that you avoid like the plague? Usually for me a pointed toe is a no go zone…

The Filofax Blogger Challenge

There are some brands that I’ve been obsessed with from a very young age and one of those has to be Filofax. I can’t explain what it is about what they do but I’ve always coveted their organisers and accessories so when they invited me to take part in a blogger challenge to celebrate the launch of their new range of tablet cases I couldn’t have been more flattered.
Filofax kindly provided me with a case for my (now practically retro) iPad3 and simply asked me to take it for a walk and snap some photos in an unusual location. Now, where I chose isn’t really that unusual but given that I have this location right on my doorstep and it was a gorgeously sunny day it made perfect sense to head down to the local beach with my best friend and iPad in tow an snap some shots.
I was sent the chic and sophisticated Saffiano Wrap Tablet case in a stunning Aquamarine colour which I just love. Sure, jazzier options are available but for me half the appeal of Filofax is their simplistic and minimal designs- for some reason I feel far more organised and efficient with something like this about my person! The case is great, it has an amazing luxury feel to it and holds my tablet securely with additional space for pens/paper/stylus which is perfect for on the go. I love the Aquamarine colour and how it seems to match in with Clevedon pier behind me. Because this acts as a stand and allows you to rotate the tablet by 360 degrees this has quickly become my go-to case both for at home and for on the go.

If you need me…I’ll be at the beach.

Wanderlust Wardrobe- Inspired by Thailand*

As holiday season kicks off I once again find myself in a serious state of travel envy. As it stands I don’t have any holiday plans myself yet but given that it turns out I HAVEN’T managed to shred my passport it’s not outside the realm of possibility that I might manage to get some Summer sun. It won’t be anything massively exciting, probably a long weekend in Spain but what I’d really like is to jump on a bandwagon and head off for a few weeks of sun, sea and exploration in somewhere more exotic like Thailand.

With some un-expected time on my hands at the moment I’ve spent a bit of time window shopping online (as you do) and have put together a little wish list of what I would be backing if I were heading off on the adventure of a life time.

Where are you heading off to on holiday this year, and where would your dream destination be?

Lotus

I am so delighted that the weather is finally warming up a bit and I can finally wear footwear other than boots! This season I seem to have fallen head over heels for a more sophisticated style of shoe, finding myself smitten with the kitten heel in the brightest colours possible.

Tee: Connected Generation | Skirt: Zara (similar) | Shoes c/o Lotus

Now, I know Lotus probably isn’t the first place to spring to mind when it comes to stylish shoes for a younger generation but trust me when I say they have some lovely bright, bold and beautiful pieces arriving in their shop and I was pleasantly surprised when picking out a pair.

I instantly fell in love with the Tessie style in blue as a new addition to my Spring/Summer footwear selection. I really liked the contrast between a more formal shoe style and an otherwise casual outfit, this skirt was purchased years ago for £3.99 in the Zara sale and it’s probably seen far better days by now but I don’t think I’ll ever persuade myself to part with it…

Back to the shoes though! I do struggle with pointed toe shoes quite a lot as I have wide (flipper!) feet and often find them far too narrow. These however are a perfect fit and 100% true to size too. With clever internal design these are really comfortable and at £50 a sound investment. I’m thinking of picking up a black pair for my work wardrobe- or buying some brighter clothes to wear in the office to clash these with…

It’s always great when a brand you’d previously written off as not for you turns around and surprises you like this, Lotus, I’ll be keeping an eye on you!
