Play Time with Long Tall Sally

Just recently I’ve become enamoured with the idea of owning jumpsuits and playsuits. This isn’t something that had ever previously appealed, partly I believe due to my height. Having tried numerous ones on from various shops on the high street I resigned myself to the fact that it wasn’t going to work; playsuits that cut you in half are not a good look, and neither is a jumpsuit that gives you camel toe.
I did recently manage to buy my first ever jumpsuit, from New Look and I got round the problem by going up a size, which works for the style I got but isn’t the ideal solution- nor great for one’s ego. Around the same time I also received an e-mail with Long Tall Sally’s new look book attached and I was delighted to see that they have several gorgeous jump suits and dungarees (my other current craving) in store right now.
From L-R
Price wise, these aren’t the cheapest pieces out there, but I’ve had clothes from Long Tall Sally before and you get what you pay for- that and there will be no indecency and the comfort of something fitting you properly. Long Tall Sally is designed for Women 5’8” and over and also caters for shoe sizes 7-11. As well as stocking it’s own brand you’ll find clothes from Ruby Rocks and shoes from the likes of French Sole and Converse. Brilliant!
I’m seriously needing those dungarees in my life, and the floral jumpsuit too…I need to put myself on a window shopping ban! Which one would you pick?

Metallic Madness at Mint Velvet

When it comes to accessories I’m not an obsessive, I tend to overlook new collections in favour of dresses or shoes, but sometimes you can’t help but take notice and that’s exactly what happened when I got an e-mail introducing a gorgeous range of metallic pieces from Mint Velvet.
Mint Velvet is a website that is reserved strictly for window shopping. I own a couple of pieces and can confirm they are well worth the price tag, but sadly that price tag is a bit out of my current budget. Accessories however, well those can be a little more justified in my eyes- I don’t own many and therefore it’s totally ok to collect a few more eh?
Ok, so these aren’t the cheapest accessories on the block but they are both beautiful and functional and going on previous quality from Mint Velvet they will last a heck of a lot longer than ones that cost a tenth of the price, probably so much so that their cost per use will actually be cheaper! How’s the for justification?
I’m especially loving the makeup bag and oversized purse, I can think of a million and one uses for both of them and just love how luxe they look without being OTT.
Are you an accessories lover? Do you prefer to splurge or save? I used to be a save/buy the cheapest kind of girl but now I’d rather own less and invest in quality.

Soda Pop

I think I’ve mentioned before my love of all the pink goodness around this season, so it was kind of pre-written that I’d fall in love with the latest collection from Pink Soda at Bank Fashion. I think this is one of the prettiest Spring/Summer collections I’ve seen so far and I’m going to have to save up my pennies super hard to be able to buy at least one piece, it’s too gorgeous to pass up!
I was pretty surprised when I saw the prices for these pieces, I thought they would be a lot more expensive based on how they look. Not everything is online yet but I have my sights set on the Caviar beaded skater dress which costs a pretty reasonable £40, I’m pretty confident I can save that up in not long at all!
Despite having heard of Bank Fashion before, Pink Soda is a new brand to me and from what I can see so far it’s one I will be keeping a close eye on from now. Let me know in the comments if you own any pieces or have any experience with the brand and it’s sizes etc…I’m all for learning a little bit more!

Desert Chic

Just as I was thinking it was about time Guess Jewellery bought out another collection I got an e-mail announcing the launch of “Desert Chic”. A vivid mix of turquoise, hibiscus pink, coral and sunny yellow teamed with safari inspired neutrals this collection is full of covetable wrist wear made up of tough-luxe chain and exotic python prints.
With turn lock closures adding city sophisitcation and the patterned leather bringing a touch of the wild this is the suit everyone piece for the summer, with some amazing colour combinations.
Each bracelet costs £65 and is available from the Guess website and stores as well as Debenhams, House of Fraser and H Samuel. I’m smitten (as usual) with each one of them. I’m thinking I might treat myself to one when I go shopping on my Birthday but I’m having a tough time choosing which colour combination….Which one would you pick?

Spring Wish List (John Lewis Edit)

I’m a creature of habit when it comes to shopping and I tend to stick to a favoured few shops and forget to browse elsewhere. I’m trying to break that habit now as I want to experiment more with what I wear and stop limiting myself to the same shops and same styles (I am very guilty of buying the same items in several colours if I like it).
With that in mind I’ve been browsing different stores online compiling wish list upon wish list for when I am back on full pay and able to stock up on some Spring/Summer essentials. Today I’m sharing the items I’m coveting from John Lewis, who I always forget stock an amazing array of women’s clothing. I do love John Lewis .
I tried to pick pieces I could create entire outfits with but as you can see I kind of failed, getting too distracted by seperates instead. Hover over the images to get the details and prices. I think the Daisy Print Skirt and the Sugarhill Boutique blouse with it’s adorable donkey print are the pieces I will aim to own by the end of the summer, with the Somerset by Alice Temperley and Ted Baker items being strictly wish list only for the time being. I’m not really a shirt person but I had to include the fabulous Mango denim shirt because I can see this being a brilliant cover up for cooler days and I am loving bleached denim right now!
Which items are your favourites? Any one else trying to expand their shopping horizons?
