It’s a Seventies Thing!

As we step towards Spring it seems the fashion world has gone back for the Seventies trend and I’m going to stick my hands right up and say I’ve fallen head over flares for it too. I’m not doing much in the way of shopping right now but I have put together a wish list of pieces I’m loving on the high street right now for when I do have some pennies to spare.

Free People Dungarees | M&S Jeans | M&S Wide Leg Trousers | M&S Wide Tunic Dress | New Look Midi Dress | New Look Midi Jacket | New Look Midi Top | New Look Midi Skirt | Topshop Clogs | Zara Fringed Jacket

Which trend are you most looking forward to for the new season?

Forget about Roses, I want Rose Gold!

I was very late to the game when it comes to the obsession with Rose Gold. Whilst everyone around me was going potty with it, I was still stuck on my love of Silver and believed I would never stray. As each season passes by in the world of fashion there seems to be more and more collections featuring this favoured metal, and having seen some stunning new arrivals from lolaandgrace I will throw my hands up in the air and freely call myself a convert (or cliche).
Particular favourites from this selection include the slim line mini bar necklace and the square solitaire ring but if Cupid is taking notes then I wouldn’t object to any of this landing on my doorstep come February 14th…
How about you? Do you get the Rose Gold hype? To be fair, lolaandgrace can do no wrong in my eyes but I just adore everything they make in this metal…which piece(s) do you love best?

Guess my Valentine

It’s been a little while since Guess Jewellery last made an appearance on the blog, things got all kinds of crazy with Christmas content but now that’s done and dusted I can focus on shiny, pretty things for the year ahead, kicking off with their Valentine’s collection called “Crystals of Love”.

Ring / Necklace / Earrings / Bracelet / Skirt

I think this is one of the prettiest, most delicate Guess Jewellery collections yet, with each piece perfect for every day wearing. I’ll be dropping some serious hints as February 14th nears- I think I want everything in the collection and all in the super pretty Rose Gold colour (also available in Gold and Rhodium). Prices range from £35.00-£40.00 so it’s not a massive spend…perfectly priced for treating yourself I’d say!
Also on my radar right now is the gorgeous pink textured skirt from the Marks and Spencer Limited Collection. Perfect for a romantic date and for pairing with delicate jewellery this is just one of many amazing new pieces just arrived at M&S.
Be mine, Valentine?

The Cat Lady Wish List

I think the whole world knows how obsessed I am with our feline friends- it’s something I’ve inherited off my mother and try as I might I just can’t resist anything even vaguely cat related! I want to start doing more wish lists on the blog as I love seeing what other bloggers are currently coveting and what better way to start things off than one that I know will appeal to many.

Without further ado, here are some of the cat themed fashion items I’m currently wondering how I can afford…

Claws Tee by Adolescent Clothing at ASOS | Velvet Bag from ASOS | Cat Jumper by Paul & Joe Sister at ASOS | Nica Purse at House of Fraser | Cat Dress from Missguided | Cat Print Dress at Oliver Bonas | Kitty Pumps by Charlotte Olympia at Selfridges

I’m thinking that if I can save £1 per day then by this time next year I could own those Charlotte Olympia pumps! On a more realistic note I have a serious need for the Missguided dress and Adolescent Clothing tee in my wardrobe right now!

What’s on your current wish list? Have I missed any awesome cat pieces during my online trawl?

#dearsally- festive inspiration for tall girls!

As we race towards December I realised I’ve been so focused on gift guides that I’ve neglected to put together any posts on outfits for over the festive period. I’ve teamed up once again with Long Tall Sally to put together four looks for over the holidays- perfect for fellow tall girls looking for inspiration!
Christmas Shopping
I always think it’s best to keep it simple when Christmas Shopping, you want to stay calm and comfortable amongst the crowds of people and this all black ensemble is exactly the kind of thing I wear. I love the idea of the chunky funnel neck jumper from the TTYA range paired with skinny leather look trousers, it’ll keep you snug whilst remaining chic. I always favour flats for shopping in as I cannot bear having sore feet whilst charging around. I was instantly drawn to these ankle boots to toughen up the look a bit, finished off with a leather jacket that can easily be slipped off it things get all hot and bothered.
Christmas Party
As a tall girl I like to make the most of being able to wear maxi dresses without falling arse over tit and this metallic black number just screams glamour- it’s an update on the rose gold version I popped in a wish list back in the Summer, and although it might look simple it certainly makes an impact. I’ve added in some chic pointed toe shoes and a big old yeti coat to keep off the chill at the end of the night.
Christmas Day
Christmas Day in our house is a casual affair, gone are the days of getting all dressed up, we realised we actually prefer slobbing out in our comfiest casuals where it’s perfectly acceptable to undo a button to make way for the roast dinner food baby we’re all nursing. I love this cute robin sweater and would pair it with some slouchy boyfriend fit jeans and some pristine white converse (just in case I felt like an after dinner stroll).
Gift Ideas
If you need inspiration for your Christmas list or have a tall friend/relative to buy for this year then I highly recommend checking out the gift section on the website. I would 100% welcome a pair of pretty PJs that don’t flap around the ankles, and who can resist a super snuggly dressing gown? I’m also rather taken with the checked slippers and the hot pink hat and scarf…I do hope Santa is taking notes!
What do you think of my choices? What would you have picked?
