The Autumn/Winter trouser from Luxemme

It may have escaped your notice but I don’t wear trousers very often. I find shopping for them a chore, trying to find the right fit, the right length and indeed the right colour is something that I just don’t have the patience for. Still, when I saw some burgundy beauties on new fashion brand Luxemme’s website I couldn’t help but take a gamble and attempt to break away from dresses and skirts as we move in to the cooler months.

I just love the colour of these and the Seventies vibe which I fully intend to carry on channelling as much as possible in to the new season. Fit wise, these are pretty spot on, I could do with filling them out a bit more but the length and drape are perfect and these will be a welcome addition to both my work and play wardrobe.

As I mentioned earlier Luxemme is a brand new retailer bringing Parisian chic to our shores. They have some really lovely pieces on their site at prices that don’t leave me reeling. My trousers cost £29.00 although they feel a lot more expensive (if that makes sense!) I’ve seen some of my favourite bloggers rocking some seriously gorgeous co-ord sets as well, I think this one is lovely and only £35.00! This is a brand to keep your eye on, I hope to add some more of their pieces to my collection in the not too distant future.

Where do you shop for the perfect trousers? Are you familiar with Luxemme yet?

New Season Inspiration and Wish List*

I just love the start of a new season, the time where I start planning a few purchases and browsing my favourite blogs, fashion sites such as Grazia Daily and my huge catalogue of fashion retailer favourites to get ideas about looks I want to channel but never quite get around to pulling off. Of course temptation is everywhere and I could probably post a wish list every day for a month without quite getting through everything that’s caught my eye (but I won’t do that, I don’t want to become tedious!) but I did think I’d pop together a post with a few pieces that I’d love to make mine- you know, if I were a rich girl.

Jumper | Skirt | Cape | Suede Dress | Pinafore | Loafer | Jeans | Culottes | New Season at F&F | Bag

Basically what I’m loving most right now is that the pieces I enjoyed the most from Spring/Summer have been given an update for the cooler months ahead. Some of my favourite brands have totally upped their game and bought out some killer collections too, F&F at Tesco have got some of the best knitwear and outerwear that I’ve seen so far and gain major bonus points for being available as you do your food shop- also lethal as I’m prone to forget fridge essentials at the best of times! I’m hoping to rustle up some pennies for chunky knits, all things suede and of course something feline themed! My most major mission though is for some heeled loafers, perfect for the office AND with mini skirts and chunky tights for weekend chic.

What are you coveting as we head in to Autumn? And where do you gain most inspiration from?

Happiness Boutique

Isn’t Happiness Boutique the cheeriest name for a shop ever? Having admired their wares on twitter over the last few months I was delighted and flattered when they got in touch with me asking if I’d like to pick a piece from their site. It wasn’t the easiest of jobs, with a website jam packed full of stunning vintage style clothing and accessories narrowing down choices was tough. In the end I settled on the most perfect little necklace and I couldn’t be happier with it.
I opted for this delicate golden daisy necklace because well, Daisies are my thing and as much as I love a good statement necklace I knew this would get a heck of a lot more wear. Given that this was sent from Germany it arrived incredibly quickly and in the sweetest packaging- I love it when a brand clearly takes pride in what they do.

If statement jewellery is more your thing then you’ll be spoilt for choice on the Happiness Boutique website, I’ve popped a few examples/some of my favourites below but feel free to let me know what you’re coveting the most in the comments…

Everything on the site is really reasonably priced and Happiness Boutique are determined to spread the smiles globally as they offer free shipping on all orders as well as a generous reward programme. This is one shop that makes me very happy indeed, I’m already planning another order.

The Culotte Jumpsuit

The other object of my affections this season has been culottes (the first being denim, obviously). Having not added to my collection for ooh, at least four weeks I set eyes on the perfect pair in the New Look sale whilst browsing with my Grandad- and lucky me got to bring them home…at £12 I did worry they’d be one of those “one wear wonders” as these culottes happen to be attached to a jumpsuit but I needn’t have worried as by now their cost-per-wear is somewhere under £1.

Jumpsuit: New Look (plain black version) | Shoes: House of Fraser | Fedora: Florence and Fred

I have mentioned several times that I am basically incompetent when it comes to accessories and either a) never remember to photograph them or b) don’t remember to wear them in the first place so it’s a rare occurrence that I thought to pop on a hat on the day I wore this and rarer still that I thought to include it in the pictures. I do love a good hat though, and this floppy fedora sets the outfit off perfectly (in my humble opinion).
Life seems to be returning to a steady pace, I’ve had a week off and a few days away with friends. I’m back at work full time and it’s a case of moving onwards and onwards in all areas of my life. I have so many hopes and goals for the next few months and I refuse to be the only thing standing in my way of achieving them…remind me of this when I’m having a whine on Twitter, yes? Sometimes I wonder about going a bit more in depth to what is happening in my personal life but I’m not sure anyone actually wants to read that.
Have you picked up any unexpected bargains in the Summer sales? Also, as part of my resolve to move onwards and upwards, what can I do to improve the blog? Answers on a postcard please…

Summer Sandals at Shoetique*

I’ve developed a bit of an obsession with flat sandals this summer, in fact I went a bit crazy and sold (nearly) all of my heels to clear some space after realising that I can no longer spend an entire day in them without serious discomfort. I had intended just to clear some space and save some money but what actually happened is that I went on a bit of a sandal spree, and after a quick browse on shoe super-store Shoetique I fear another might be about to happen. As I’ve got older I’ve come to realise that flat shoes don’t have to be boring, and to prove my point I’ve popped together a little wish list of some seriously stylish shoes.
I had no idea that Barbour had branched out in to sandals so it was a potentially dangerous discovery when I stumbled across this pair whilst browsing as at £70 they are way above any budget I might have. They aren’t my usual style either, and I have no idea how I’d go about wearing them but there is something quite endearing about the navy blue suede.
Another pair that I un-expectedly fell in love with are these baby blues from Adesso although I instantly know these would be worn to death with jeans and denim mini skirts, they just look so comfortable and enchantingly retro.
More in keeping with my style are the neon pink flip-flop style shoes from Joules, or the remaining two pairs which are by Clarks. As someone who avoided Clarks for years, associating them with scarring school shoe shopping trips it’s always a joy to shop there these days as they have so many on trend styles that carry you from season to season.
So there we go, that’s my next pay-day spent before it arrives! Have you seen any shoes that have caught your eye lately?
