Lunar

Now it’s the middle of September I feel like it’s finally acceptable to swap sandals and bare toes for tights and ankle boots and I couldn’t be happier! As most people probably know by now I’m an ankle boot obsessive so when Lunar Shoes got in touch asking if I wanted to pick a pair I really didn’t need to think twice (although it did prompt yet another shoe-drobe cull).

Lunar shoes is new to me but I’m glad we’ve finally met. With everything from ankle boots to elegant heels there is something for everyone and it’s very reasonable on the price front too, I really rate the quality of the shoes- I’ve paid far more for lesser quality boots in the past

Dress: New Look | Boots c/o Lunar Shoes (this pair) | Bracelet and rings c/o Orelia/E-tail PR | Necklace c/o Sushilla Jewellery

I was also lucky enough to receive a selection of new pieces from Orelia recently, a brand I HAVE met before and waxed lyrical about. I’m in love with these delicate rings and knot bangle and although I failed to capture a picture I’m also sporting the super sweet earrings as well.

This outfit is 100% typical of what I’ve been wearing lately. I’m really in to jewellery again after a while spent neglecting my jewellery and I’m still braving the sleeveless dresses as much as I possibly can- I refuse to get my warmer clothes out until after my holiday. Ankle boots however, well, any excuse to pop a pair on really- I wonder how much of my luggage allowance these would use up?

What is your wardrobe weakness? I’d say over half of my not exactly small shoe collection is made up of ankle boots in varying shades of black and dark brown!

Space Cats

The dress is this post was a long time coming. I first saw it on the New Look website a few months ago and fell in love but just couldn’t justify spending £36 on it at the time. It haunted my thoughts for a while and I kept checking up on it and hoping that it might end up on sale. Patience paid off as I managed to snap it up for £17 the other week. It was love at first sight and I’m glad I held out. Shopping karma at it’s finest.

Dress: Cutie at New Look (available here) | Shoes: Adidas Gazelle

The dress is by Cutie who I am not overly familar with but on further browsing appear to do some seriously cool and quirky printed clothing. It could be dangerous territory having discovered them but for now I am quite content with this dress featuring the most perfectly perfect SPACE CAT print. I’m all for standing out from the crowd when it comes to prints and this just fits in with my slightly odd, crazy cat lady persona perfectly.

You’ll have to forgive the slight sunburn, I had not long got back from a glorious weekend in Devon with two of my best girl-friends. I actually debuted the dress there and they both agreed I couldn’t have found anything more me if I had tried. Althought the frilled detail and midi length lend themselves perfectly to a lady-like outfit I decided to branch out and pop on my magenta Adidas Gazelle trainers to keep this outfit casual, I really like how this turned out!

Have you ever found anything so you that you just had to buy it?

Local Beauty

I feel very lucky that I live near some truly beautiful places. The other week I went along to an old favourite, Layde Bay in Clevedon which is one of the prettiest beaches in the surrounding area. Initially the plan was just to go for a bit of a walk, but as we found this platform and the weather was being kind Ben and I thought we’d snap some outfit photos too (next time we might actually make it on to the beach!)

Dress: c/o Jarlo London a few summers ago | Sandals c/o George at Asda

This dress is one of my favourites for the summer months and has been worn more times than I can recall since it first fell in to my hands a few years ago. The little sail boat print on it is so sweet, and combined with the mint green shade puts a feminine twist on my beloved nautical vibes.

I admit I let Jarlo London fall off my radar for a year or so, but having just taken a look at their current collection they taken themselves down the occasion-wear route and produced some truly stunning pieces, I’ve never seen so many beautiful maxi dresses in one place!

Usually I’d team this dress with my Converse, but as they are literally falling apart I thought I’d change things up a bit and went for these sandals from George at Asda. I’ve been really lucky with sandals this year as every pair that’s come in to my possession has been really comfortable- there’s nothing worse than owning lots of lovely shoes but not daring wear them for fear of discomfort after only half an hour!
Do you live near any local beauty spots?

Riverside

It actually feels like a lifetime ago since Ben and I took these photos, we’d gone over to a nearby town to sort out some bits before Ben moved there and decided to make the most of the glorious weather at the time and explore the path down by the river that runs along the back of his street. Clevedon is brilliant like that- there’s the town centre with a smattering of shops, then there is the Victorian sea front and eclectic shops of Hill Road. On the other side of town is the river and the whole place is just somewhere I feel instantly peaceful.

Top: Topshop (sale) | Skirt: Urban Outfitters (alternative) | Sandals c/o Shoe Zone

I seem to have all but given up on wearing anything but mini skirts these days! The one in this post cost me £12 in the Urban Outfitters sale back at the end of April. It’s long sold out now but I’ve linked an alternative above (and to be honest, it’s likely I’ll add it to my collection before long!)

The top was part of my Topshop haul and was an impulse buy to make up the amount on a voucher. I was suckered in by the £7 price tag and wasn’t really expecting to love it quite as much as I do. It is more fitted than a lot of my tops which makes it perfect for pairing with skirts and has a touch of the seventies about it.

I remember it being hot enough to go bare legged in this outfit- this is a fairly momentous occasion as it takes a lot to get me away from my sheer tights! Thankfully my Shoe Zone sandals are comfy enough not to need that little bit of protection, I could walk for miles in these, not bad for £14.99!

Do you have any where near you that makes you instantly relaxed? You can expect to see a lot more of Clevedon on the blog now Ben is living there, there’s so many places I want to show on the blog!

The Open Road

So apparently I’ve had these photos on my laptop for at least a month and had some how forgotten about them, oops! Back near the start of July Ben and I took a little trip up to his parent’s near Melton Mowbray and made the most of the beautiful country side surroundings to take some outfit snaps- honestly, I do worry about my memory some times as I had clean forgotten we’d done it!

Dress: New Look (available on asos) | Shoes: Primark (this season)

I fell in love with this dress the second I saw it in the Tall section of the New Look website. Since I bought it in June it’s disappeared from their site but is still available from ASOS. I have such a soft spot for frayed denim (I also quite fancy this Missguided number) and it makes for a great casual alternative for jeans at the weekend. Believe it or not this is the tall version of the dress! I dread to think what a regular length would be like, or perhaps I am becoming too modest in my old age?
Primark have come up trumps for comfy footwear this Summer, every pair I’ve bought from there I’ve expected to give me at least a small blister or bit of discomfort but nope, I’ve been living in them! The pair I’m wearing here are from the wide fit range- bravo Primark for recognising that people with flipper feet like shoes too!
My denim collection has grown a lot this year, from the mini skirts to the various dresses I’ve accumulated as the months have progressed…still, it’s a trend that’s never going to die so I can console myself with at least I’ve blown my shopping ban on investments. What can’t you stop buying lately?
