Dress: Next
Tights: Gift from Char
I featured these shoes on one of my many Sarenza wish lists a few months ago and when their sale launched I decided I HAD to own them, despite at the time not knowing when on earth I’d get to wear them. As it happens the timing was perfect as shortly after they arrived my foot was well enough to start strutting around in heels and once it’s a bit stronger and I know exactly what is going on I’ll be living in these! I loved them paired with these flower pattern tights which were a gift from Char and my old faithful Next “work” dress.
A few people have asked about my foot lately; basically nobody is exactly sure what is going on but the consultants I saw think I have something called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (or CRPS) which is a neurological condition. I have to say the hospital were fairly useless but my wonderful GP has started me on a medication called pregabalin which has worked wonders at getting me mobile again by blocking the pain signals. I still have some pain which the medication hasn’t touched. I went for an ultrasound yesterday (yep, a Sunday) which showed my tendons are intact but there is some query about a smaller muscle/tendon injury that won’t show on anything but an MRI so that has been suggested as a next step. I’m almost past caring now I can walk, what will be will be and nothing is going to stop me now.

I think we should all take a moment to celebrate the last week in January; the most depressing month is almost over and although there have been some blue moments, on the whole 2013 has got off to a cracking start and I feel hopeful and excited for what the rest of the year holds.

How has the year started for you?
Tell me about your current favourite shoes…these Bertie beauts are mine of course!

Sarenza Sunday- Boutique Browsing

As a general rule I do try to keep my wish lists at least semi-obtainable but sometimes it’s nice to dream and that is exactly why this week my Sarenza Sunday is focused on their probably little known about boutique section stocking a gorgeous array of designer shoes that most of us can only dream of owning (but still covet regardless)

You’ll notice there isn’t a flat shoe in sight. I spent all of yesterday walking around in heeled boots and decided it worth celebrating. Of course the majority of my time will still be in flats but I am happily able to announce I can walk in something higher with no pain…no pain after five months, you have NO idea how good that feels!

First up are the Missoni Miranella boots, an object of beauty but strictly out of reach at £409 in the sale, eek! Seeming slightly more obtainable the Lina by Kenzo ankle boot costs £236.80 (sale price) and I really, really want this shoe for spring…gorgeous.
I’ve not heard of Michel Perry before, but whoever they are they create pretty shoes and I’m captivated by the perfect work shoe…meet Kavala– I will always have a soft spot for heeled brogues.
Last but by no means least; in fact this is a case of saving the best ’til last, meet my dream boot…Vahia by Vanessa Bruno costs an eye watering £414.60 (and that’s in the sale) but is everything I have ever wanted in a black ankle boot. I need to start remembering to play the lottery and not to browse the Sarenza boutique too often, it’s becoming dangerous!

Do you like to browse above your budget? I try not to think of it as depressing…it’s something to dream about and save for, I think buying something you have worked hard for, saved hard for and wished hard for is one of the most satisfying feelings ever.

Sarenza Sunday- tell me about it, stud

Love Moschino studded heart, £128.50 (only tiny sizes left!)

Jeffrey Campbell Kravitz, £239.20

Steve Madden Studly, £64

Jeffrey Campbell Mattie 2, £94.50

I know the love of studs has been around forever in blog land but I’m a bit of a late starter in really enjoying it. Before Christmas I was quite “take it or leave it” but since then I’ve become attracted to all things studded and vaguely dangerous looking.
Sarenza have a brilliant selection of studded shoes and boots available- what I’ve shown above is just a small selection; check out more flats from Steve Madden, crazy creations from Jeffrey Campbell and some sweet little Love Moschino bags if you still need more.
I’d wear any of these shoes and now my foot is on the mend I feel like going mad and buying several new pairs! In the interest of being safe and weather proof if I was forced to pick just one pair it would be the Jeffrey Campbell Mattie 2 with it’s subtle studding and supportive lace up style….if I was allowed total free reign though I’d add in the fierce Kravitz boot- I can’t quite work out whether I think it’s a gorgeous shoe of perfection or really quite ugly, but either way, I want it!

If you fancy any of these but just don’t have the funds then why not enter Sarenza’s Pin to Win competition for the chance to win £100 to spend on the site? Details below:

Let me know if you enter (I will be) as I want to see your boards too! (my pintrest)

Are you in to the stud trend? What’s your favourite way to wear it? I’m always worried I’ll injure myself on studded clothing, I’m so awkward I’m bound to gouge an eye out with even the flattest embellishment. I think I’ll stick to feet…

Sarenza Sunday- getting hi

Guess- £72

Nike- £119.99

Guess- £84

Vagabond- £68

Adidas Originals- £87.50

With the new year comes sporting resolutions with people worldwide vowing to get fit. Not for me though, I’m not adverse to a bit of excersise but I’m kind of stranded on the sidelines at the moment, instead browsing Sarenza and hoping to look the part with their fantastic range of Hi-top trainers. For some reason I’m attracted to hi-tops despite rarely wearing a sports shoe (with exception to my converse) top of my list are the baby pink pair by Vagabond which I can see me getting a lot of wear out of both now and as the weather improves but I wouldn’t say no to any of those I featured above. I think I might have to take the plunge soon, give in to my urges and invest.

What are your thoughts on Hi-tops? I used to live in trainers until my late teenage years and now I barely look at them, I have bad memories of baggy jeans and random band hoodies…thank goodness those days are over!

Sarenza Sunday- perfect pastels

Converse All Star Hi in Orange Pale, £45

Parfino by Georgia Rose, £135

Parikkala by Georgia Rose, £111

Party season is (sadly) over and I’m looking ahead to my dream Spring shoe wardrobe. It emerges every year but my love of pastels will never die and I cannot wait for the weather to dry up enough to wear these pale pretties without fear of deadly mud stains. The Georgia Rose boots have well and truly captured my heart and seem the perfect transitional piece- we can’t rely on good weather the second spring hits but you can have dry yet pretty feet with these babies (my only hope is my foot is up to heels by then). I wouldn’t say no to the converse or Georgia Rose slipper shoes either, I am basically destined to be broke; but hey, I’ll have fabulous shoes right? Both are perfectly practical for both inclement weather AND a dodgy foot. I’m sold, several times over…damn you Sarenza!

Have you started thinking about your Spring wardrobe yet? What will you be looking forward to wearing?
