one wish down

I caved and bought the Clinique chubby stick from my beauty wishes post. Seeing it in person at the counter in Bath I realised it was indeed a must have for me. My lips are terribly dry but this is moisturising and adds a pretty, sheer tint of colour.

At £14 it’s probably the most expensive lip product I own, but damn I’m hooked. Already.

And just because I have little else to post about…

Makeup Essentials

I’ve seen numerous makeup posts lately, and find it really interesting to see what other people swear by…usually the products they hate are the ones I love. So I’m jumping on the bandwagon, here are my beauty essentials for every day wear.

002

My beauty box that seriously needs sorting out and stream-lining!

003

From L-R
E.L.F. Studio Cream liner in metallic olive for smudging under my lower eye.
MAC eyeshadows in Mineralism, Ploof, Smoke and Diamonds + a GOSH eyeshadow in a smokey metallic brown.
Rimmel The Max bold curves mascara and Shu Uemura ultimate expression mascara (comp win, I can’t afford it normally!)
E.L.F. Mineral eyeshadow primer…in my opinion this works just as well as Urban Decays!
Shu Uemura under base mousse another luxury I wouldn’t usually have but won.
Babara Daly for Tesco oil free foundation. This is one of the only foundations on the highstreet that matches my skin tone perfectly!
Benefit SugarBomb blusher, I had this for Christmas and LOVE it!
MAC studio fix powder. This has lasted me forever and was well worth the money!

004

From L-R
MUA lipgloss, def my go-to lipgloss as it’s not sticky and only costs £1!
Soap and Glory Hocus Focus a.k.a. my saviour!
Burts Bees pomegranate lipbalm, review coming soon
MAC lipstick in Strayin‘ from the Hello Kitty Collection

What are your makeup must haves?

Outfit + New Favourite Lipgloss

Today marks 12 weeks since I came home from hospital, is that not crazy?! Yeah. The weather has warmed up a little (i.e. temperature is now above freedom) so I took the oppurtunity to wear something that doesn’t require a zillion layers!

This shirt dress is at least four years old, quite possibly older than that. I found it in a GAP outlet shop and don’t wear it a lot because it’s dry clean only and I have a tendency to spill things.

I’ve also recently become an Eyeko Ambassador and after making my first sale they sent me one of their lipglosses in Primrose Hill

I’ll admit, I was dissapointed. I’m not really a lipgloss girl, I find it sticky and annoying and I’d rather wear a tinted lipbalm or nude/pale pink lipstick.

The colour is pretty, described as:

A pretty lilac shimmer for girls on the go. This suits-all shade is ultra flattering.

And I think I’ve found a lipgloss I’ll wear. It’s a little sticky, but not enough to annoy me. The smell is gorgeous! And the colour? Well perfect for a low key but polished look!

An added bonus is it’s left my lips feeling in good condition, this cold weather has wreaked havoc on them, and sometimes I find lip products just irritate this. Eyeko are surely on to a winner!
Next on my to try list is their famed Fat Balms, though I can’t decide between Toffee and Frosting

If you fancy trying Eyeko for yourself you can use my code E12740 and get a free gift when you spend £15 or more!
I totally recommend the lipgloss, the cream and the nail polishes!
If you’ve used Eyeko before I’d love to know what you think and for you to help me make a fat balm decision!

last night

I survived the hen night last night, woo-hoo.
It was a lot of fun, despite not being able to drink. I was a bit lame though at left at 11, just as the others were hitting the bars. I’m not a fan of clubs and bars, well, I am, but not when I’m the only one staying sober. By that point I was being attacked in all directions by negative body image and feeling tres insecure, so in a way I was glad to escape and get home and sleep.

I didn’t get very good photos of my outfit,
the dress actually has more detail at the back than the front, in the form of a zipper and a tie back. I also wore a black tuxedo jacket, but failed to snap a photo. I’m sure photos from other people will start surfacing before long though, I totally forgot my camera was in my bag and didn’t take any.

I love this dress, it’s New Look limited edition and I almost bought it a while back, though I’m glad I didn’t as this was given to me for free by a friend!
It did give me no end of hassle though as I hate where it falls on my thighs and feels it makes me legs look, well, chunky.

C’est la vie. I ignored those thoughts for the most part and concentrated on having a wicked time, which I did
(especially as I was out with relative strangers, the hen do was for a colleague of my Mum’s, but I’ve been adopted in to their social group it would seem…the people are so lovely and so hilarious)

Photobucket

My makeup looked more dramatic in real life. Though I can never get super bold, bright eyeshadow like other people seem to be able to. Any hints and tips?

Oh,
and I arrived home from work/seeing my grandparents yesterday to find a package from an awesome friend in the USA who saw these tights and “just had to get them” for me.

Photobucket

I was looking through my tights drawer yesterday (yes, I have an entire drawer!) I have over 20 pairs that I regularly wear, though 1/4 of those are black/nude and 8 un-opened packs! Addict, much?

My only other recent aquisition is a penis shaped straw, sneakily stolen from the hen do…
no-one needs a picture of that though, do they?!

Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend!
