Ace the Races with PrettyLittleThing*

It’s been a very long time since a brand approached me about a clothing collaboration so I was more than a little bit excited when PrettyLittleThing got in touch about styling up some race day worthy outfits. I’ve never been to the races myself but have seen plenty of coverage from those who have and I had my own idea of the kind of style I’d like to sport- PrettyLittleThing have everyone covered though with a huge selection and my toughest choice was narrowing my selection down! In the end I picked two outfits that I feel wouldn’t be out of place at even the grandest of race days, I’d love to know what you think and what you’d have picked.

I fell in love with the retro vibe of this chocolate brown midi dress instantly, the sleeve detail is so unique and it hangs beautifully. I wouldn’t usually go for such a delicate shoe but I love how the rose gold looks with this outfit, and despite having to size up in the shoes (hello wide feet woes) they are a lot more comfortable than they look.

This emerald green dress is unlike anything I have ever owned before and I was in two minds about picking it as I wasn’t sure a plunging neckline would be my friend. Thankfully it worked, although a bit more in the boobs department might have helped! I was taken by the tied cuff details and the wrap around effect, I kept shoes more subtle this time as the dress is far more revealing than anything I usually wear, and I couldn’t resist adding in this little marabou feather clutch bag for a finishing touch.

Introducing 100 Hail Marys

It’s been a good while since I last happened upon a new brand I’ve wanted to share on the blog, but when the press release for 100 Hail Marys landed in my inbox I knew that I wanted to do just that.

100 Hail Marys is an East London based brand that produces limited edition runs of apparel, art and accessories- all made by hand.

The brand is inspired by urban youth culture and street style. It’s founder, Christian Gould has 20 years experience in the creative industry- both in London and Stockholm. The launch collection is based around his combined passions for stencilling, screen printing, typography and tattoos to name just a few.

The clothing designs are first released in limited runs of 100, each screen printed by hand using environmentally friendly inks. Customers will receive with a branded certificate stating which number piece they own (and all pieces will be slightly different due to their handmade nature and the flow of the paint). Their art pieces, also limited edition are created using stencils and spray paint for an urban graffiti vibe.

Once the limited edition pieces sell out the designs are then released as conventionally printed pieces without the limited edition markings.

All pieces are available through the newly launched website . The clothing items are all unisex and cost £28 for a t-shirt, £40 for a sweatshirt and art prints cost £100.

I’d love to know what you think, I love anything that expresses individuality and I’m quite taken with this particular tee.

Look Book Love- Autumn at River Island

As much as I’m mourning the loss of Summer, which always seems to be over before it truly begins I will admit to more than a little excitement about all of the new Autumn collections arriving on the high street at the moment. This year seems to be a year where the designers have upped their game as I’ve been SO impressed with so many stores- usually only one or two grab my attention. One shop that’s really amazed me is River Island, a store I used to frequent regularly and then kind of avoided as the designs were no longer my style. I consider myself re-converted after seeing what’s new on the rails right now- think rich colours, modern silhouettes and texture galore…I want it all!
This is just a very small selection of what’s to come from River Island. Some of the pieces are already available to buy online and in store (you can see a preview here). I’m seeing some serious potential updates to my working wardrobe springing up and I have my eye on this beauty of a maxi dress for when we hit party season!

Lookbook Love: THE WHITEPEPPER

THE WHITEPEPPER has quite quickly become a firm blogger favourite, myself included and I’m not usually one to become obsessed with an entire range from just one brand. Last week saw the release of their Spring14 lookbook and I once again fell head over heels. I only own one piece from THE WHITEPEPPER so far but my wishlist is miles long. Just check out both the brilliant designs and the gorgeous imagery.
I hadn’t intended on sharing pretty much every image from the lookbook (I’ve kept them small but you can click and enlarge) but I really couldn’t narrow down. Unusually for me I couldn’t even pick a singluar favourite piece, there’s nothing I dislike. In a dream world I’d own the pink floral two piece and ALL of the dresses (no one cuts dresses like THE WHITEPEPPER)
I seriously need to get back to work and back earning so I can add to my collection.

Lookbook Love: British Heritage at Jigsaw

I’ve said before that it’s not often you’ll find me doing a lookbook post on the blog. It really takes something to make me want to share it and I can’t quite explain what it is about the AW collection from Jigsaw that’s done it.
Perhaps it’s their ever increasing devotion to British Heritage and their use of rich and timeless tweed and wool fabrics…or maybe it’s the pure Englishness of the wild countryside shots. Either way I’ll shut up and let the pictures do the talking.

I want the fox!
