Sparkling with SuShilla
Another day and another AMAZING jewellery brand to share with you. I’m clearly indulging my inner magpie at the moment as I just want to post about all things sparkly and shiny.
SuShilla jewellery came on to my radar via twitter a couple of months ago and has never really left it since then. Every tweet makes me click on to the site and drool over the gorgeously unique pieces.
Using silver (or gold plated silver) and a vast array of semi-precious stones SuShilla manages to create pieces that look raw yet perfectly finished at the same time. SuShilla believes the natural beauty of an uncut stone should be left to shine, meaning each piece makes a real statement whilst remaining simple. She visits India twice a year where she works closely with the workshops that produce her jewellery. It’s on these trips that she also sources new stones.
Here is just a small selection of SuShilla’s amazing work. Prices vary, they range from around the £100 mark to about £300 depending on the style and stone, not everyday affordable but not unobtainable either. I have my eye on the Daisy ring (bottom pic) of course. It’s £195 and I am on a spending ban thanks to impending op on my back and another lump of sick leave but should I come in to some money any time soon I know where it’s going!
what’s your favourite piece?
Valentines by Pandora: New in on Swag
I’m one of those people who never used to “get” Pandora bracelets, and then all of a sudden I found myself wanting one.
Fast forward almost two years and I own two of them- a pink leather one with charms that are very close to my heart as well as a classic silver one with some cute and quirky characters on it.
I managed to convince myself I didn’t need anything from the Christmas collection as it was too seasonal, but now the Valentines one has just launched on Swag I honestly don’t know if I can resist- hearts never go out of season!
There are 24 pieces in the collection and above are my favourites. I would happily adorn my wrists with all of these charms, my favourite being the one at the bottom with it’s multitude of pink crystal hearts.
I’m also really coveting this super delicate ring, it’s quite a bargain at £35 and I may just pop it on to my birthday list (which isn’t till April but hey!)
Are you a Pandora fan? What do you think of their Valentines Day Collection?

Tying the Knot with I Love A Lassie
I’m a bit like a magpie with an affection for all things shiney, so when I heard about I Love A Lassie on twitter I wasted no time in checking them out and falling head over heels for their Knotted String collection.
According to the website the collection isn’t just about a gorgeous design, it has meaning too:
“The old cliche’ “tying the knot” has been around for centuries and for good reason; around the world Knots symbolise love, loyalty, friendship and unity. Knots were used as jewelry in primitive times, and I Love a Lassie’s delicate designs are a salute to this tradition. Hand-cast in a range of finishes including 18K yellow gold, rose gold vermeil, sterling silver and black rhodium these unique pieces make the perfect gift for a friend or loved one”.
I’m even more attracted to jewellery with a meaning and so without further ado I introduce to you my favourite pieces from the collection:
Prices range from £35 for a pair of stud earrings and vary depending on which metal you choose. I’ve got my eye on the Black Rhodium Knotted Ring which costs £95. The simplicity and meaning of the design sits perfectly with the statement metal and it’s something I’d wear every day, therefore making it excellent value for money, right?!
P.S. I Love A Lassie is a Scottish brand born and bred, hurrah for supporting UK trade!
Gifts under £50 at Ernest Jones
This is probably one of the last gift guides I’ll write for 2013 as Christmas has become scarily close…how is it only a week away? Seriously?!
Anyway, better late than never with this post and if you happen to have an Ernest Jones store near you (lucky me, I do!) you can still pick up some of these beautiful gifts for someone special.

A Wise old Owl sat on an Oak
Dress: New Look
Boots c/o Sarenza
Necklace c/o Argento
I’m not sure what made me buy this dress as it really isn’t my typical style and I’m not quite sure it suits me but something drew me to it and I ended up making the purchase. Maybe it was the rich teal colour, or perhaps the subtle flock print…a huge factor was the £14.99 price tag. Even if I only wear it a handful of times it’s not a huge loss. I need to get used to bodycon styles though, one day I may even stop buying them in a size up. Bodycon skirts is one thing I’ll never do, I am yet to find one that is flattering on me.
Anyway, on to this gorgeous necklace. When I was offered the chance to pick an item from Argento I automatically started to browse for owl related things. You see, ever since my Nan died owls have become a symbol for me (and the rest of my family) as she loved them. It feels like she is there when they are around.
I stumbled across this little beauty and knew it had to be mine. The second it arrived I was in love and I decided to get semi creative with my photos and take some in a more natural habitat for a woodland creature. Improving photography is right up on the top of my 2014 to do list.
I actually love Argento, I’ve shopped there frequently because of their great prices and service. There are so many gorgeous owl pieces at the moment it breaks my heart that I’m having to be extra careful with money right now. Still, if you’re looking for last minute Christmas gifts or fancy a treat you could always take a browse…they are also an official Pandora stockist which makes me want to fill my bracelets so full they won’t do up!
Do you have an animal or item that symbolises anything? I’d love to hear about it.
