You Can’t Sit With Us

The slogan tee- not something you’ll often find me sporting but every now and again I find one that tickles my fancy and decide I’ll break out of my comfort zone. Mean Girls inspired clothing has been popping up everywhere over recent months; it was the chick flick of my teen years and supplier of many a catchphrase such as the ubiquitous “you can’t sit with us”. When my blog advertiser Lush T Shirts not only decided to host a giveaway but to also send me a top of my choosing it was pretty obvious which one I was going to go for.
Tee c/o Lush T Shirts  | Skirt: Primark | Shoes: New Look | Ring c/o jewellery world
I can’t believe this is only the first time I’m showing this Primark skirt on the blog, so many bloggers have it and I’ll admit, I was smitten the second I saw it in the shop window and had to make a cheeky trip in on the way home from Ben’s one Sunday afternoon in January. For £14 the quality is impressive, it fits rather on the large side but other than that it’s my dream skirt! I’m really hoping Primark bring it out in some more colours, a rainbow of pastels would be perfect! I liked how the girly skirt contrasted with the tee, that and the whole “on Wednesdays we wear pink” thing.
The beady eyed among you might also notice that I’ve swapped my usual silver rings for a more delicate gold one. I’ve found my jewellery tastes changing lately and at the moment I’m favouring gold and delicate over silver and chunky. Jewellery World have a huge selection of gold rings at good prices and I have my eye on several more to wear alone or layer up.
I should have been back at work today but alas I’ve been signed off for another fortnight to give my back time to strengthen. I’m quite gutted but I’m planning to use this two weeks to get my blog up together and get some much needed strengthening exercise in; if you have any hints and tips then please do share them, I need all the help and variety I can get!

Agatha

I was recently contacted by my friends at Vente-Privee about an upcoming designer sale for Parisian brand Agatha.  It wasn’t a brand I had heard of but they are set to make their presence known with a stand in Harrods (and online) as well as stores just opened in Wesfield Stratford and White City.
I was asked if I’d like to style a few pieces from the collection to celebrate the upcoming sale, and being the jewellery fiend that I am I of course said yes! I allowed Vente-Privee to pick the pieces to make this more of a challenge.

Tee: Uniqlo | Skirt: Dorothy Perkins | Jewellery c/o Agatha @ vente-privee | Boots: Miista

The jewellery that arrived wasn’t in keeping with my usual style. It’s a lot more “Rock Chick” than you’ll usually see in my wardrobe and at first I wasn’t really sure how I could make it work. Despite the sunny weather outside I decided, in the end that keeping things simple with monochrome was the way forwards and teamed all three pieces with a trusty black tee, my favourite floaty skirt and my bargain boots from Miista.

I’m not sure I was a total success in capturing the pieces in their full glory. In real life they have a real luxe feel to them and are clearly of the highest quality. The earrings have barely left my ears since their arrival and the watch and bracelet have been stacked together on my wrist more than once!

The sale will open on vente-privee Thursday morning at 6am for a limited time flash sale where members can shop the pieces (including those you styled) with fantastic prices (generally it’s 50-70% off RRP). It’s a very limited sale and all the visuals for the sale have been created by our teams in-house to make sure they really keep to the brand’s existing DNA.

Flash Trash

It’s a little known fact that once upon a time I used to do some social media for jewellery mega site MyFlashTrash. This was way back in the days when the site was in it’s infancy and founder Amber Atherton hadn’t yet made her debut on Made in Chelsea (life before MIC? really?!)
Since then I’ve followed the site closely, watching it grow from strength to strength with a few new looks along the way. Last week the website was officially relaunched with an amazing new look and I have to say I’m in awe. There’s a fresh new look, trends galore and the most amazing array of jewellery from the affordable house brand “Flash Trash Girl” to the “in my dreams only” selection of the most unique and independent designers out there. I love discovering fresh jewellery talent and this is the place to see it at it’s best.
I’ve popped a little selection of my favourite products in to the post- hover over them to find out who they’re by so you can shop them for yourself. I was also very kindly sent a Flash Trash Girl necklace of my own which was instant love. Delicate layered chain with a teeny little sparkle and a cute little charm. It’s probably never going to be far from my neck over the summer, I love delicate gold jewellery against slightly tanned skin.
I highly recommend you take a look at the site for yourself- fellow jewellery addicts you know you want to! It’s amazing to see how something can grow over the years and it’s strange to think that way, way back I was a very small part of that.

Uptown Girl from Guess Jewellery

I think I’ve covered every release from Guess Jewellery over the last twelve months. I’ve never been quite so obsessed with a single brand before. Their Spring/Summer collection doesn’t let the side down, named Uptown Girl it’s full of covetable pieces featuring beautifully bright enamel details.
For this collection the classic Guess monogram has been given a creative twist. Each colour-way has been carefully paired with a complementing metal, think rhodium plating with turquoise accents for seaside coolness and rose gold teamed with soft white and beige for an elegant take.
As you might guess (sorry!) I wouldn’t say no to any of the collection buy my heart is well and truly set on one of the statement rings- I think the yellow gold with bright coral hues would be the perfect accessory to my Spring wardrobe.
Available from March prices range from £30 for the earrings up t0 £105 for the bangles. Available online or in retailers of Guess Jewellery- House of Fraser being the first that springs to mind.
Which piece and colour combination would you most like to welcome in Spring with?

Put a Ring on It

I do love me a statement ring. I’m in the process of shopping (well, window shopping) for new ones as most of mine were bought whilst I was underweight and my fingers have obviously grown. During this search I stumbled upon NOWSEEN, a relatively new online jewellery retailer and their stunning selection of finger bling.
As seen at Proenza Schouler at NYFW the statement ring is going nowhere fast and it’s brilliant to be able to get hold of some at a non-designer price. Most of the rings pictured above are from the Magma collection and cost £30 which was a surprise to me as they look far more expensive! My personal favourite a sterling silver ring with lemon quartz but each one is stunning and I am thinking that perhaps come April a few of these (as well as a couple more pieces from the site) will be making their way on to my birthday list.
I don’t know why I’ve suddenly become more involved with jewellery but I think I may have found my little niche for my blog. I’m still a tights loving shoe hoader who has far too many clothes, but jewellery…it’s just got me.
Which ring would you go for?
