Buntella from Boomf!*

A couple of years ago I featured Boomf, the coolest marshmallow brand in town. It’s a brand I hold a great deal of affection for so when they got in touch to introduce their latest venture, Buntella I knew I was in for a treat.
Essentially Buntella is customised bunting. Even as someone who never bought in to the bunting fad I was pretty intrigued by this. As with Boomf you can create a product entirely out of your own photos or choose from a set of designs from various artists suitable for any occasion. I opted for images designed by The Corrigan Sisters as I wanted something to brighten up my room, not to say I don’t approve of the own photo approach- I think that would be amazing for a special birthday of wedding celebration!
Each Buntella compromises of nine triangles and come packaged in a neat little box just like Boomf mallows. The quality of the images is fantastic and the fabric has a good weight to it so it hangs beautifully. The bunting comes ready to hang (assuming your cat doesn’t make a beeline for it like Mae did) and is a super quick and easy way to jazz up any living space.

I couldn’t resist these pun-tastic prints especially with the “biscat” design. At £25 I think this makes for a pretty good value way to add something to your home or a special gift. What better way to show a friend how much they mean to you than plastering your mug-shots from nights out and happiest memories on to bunting?

What would you put on your bunting and what do you think of the idea? For me it’s another winner for the brains behind Boomf! Not to un-tangle the feline beast.

Top Ideas for a Brighter Bedroom*

Photo from here

I don’t know about you but I’m a fickle creature when it comes to the decor of my bedroom. I just about get it how I want it and then decide it needs an upgrade. Obviously it’s not practical to do a full revamp every time the mood takes me but there are some quick and easy ways to make subtle changes and refresh your look.
1. You can create an original feature wall quickly and simply with a wall mural or framed print. You could have anything from sunset scenery to a custom print featuring your favourite photo. Guaranteed to add an original twist to any bedroom and give it a real personal touch.

2. If you live in rented property and can’t decorate a quick, easy and cheap way to update things is with vinyl wall stickers. They are super easy to reply and can be removed safely without damaging the walls meaning that a) you can change your mind as often as you like and b) you will still get your deposit back at the end of your lease!

3. Soft furnishings and accessories as the perfect way to change up your room from season to season. Head to somewhere like Primark and pick up blankets, throws, cushions and candles and mix things up from season to season. I’m digging a warm and cosy Autumn vibe right now with plenty of plaid and fleece.

4. Get collecting- start up a quirky collection (snowglobes, funky vases, beer glasses etc) and create a feature corner in your room. Hunting out these treasures is going to be fun and as your collection grows so will the look of your room. It’s also a great way to preserve memories from special trips and holidays.

5. Tired of your flooring and don’t have the money to change it? A cheap rug will instantly hide a battered carpet or tired wood and when you fancy a change you can simply pick up a new one to suit your mood.

I’d love to know if you’ve got any ideas to add to this list and what things you’ve done to brighten up your bedroom especially if you live in a rented home, if you’ve blogged about it make sure you leave your posts in the comments below.

When decorating a home, one’s standards of beauty are followed. There are a lot of options when it comes to interior design themes and layout. Design brands seasonally introduce new trends that homeowners and interiors designers alike are always on the lookout for. While not a lot of people are into altering their home décor every season, a new piece or a little refurbishment can go a long way to personalizing your home. The pieces from this brand are aimed at giving more personality to a home with design pieces that are uniquely creative and highly aesthetic.

My Ultimate Bathroom

You know you’re growing up when you stop planning what colour nail polish you’re going to buy next and instead start dreaming of all things interiors. I may still live with my parents, and when I do move out it will be in to a rental property for a while it hasn’t stopped me taking inspiration from a survey that your show home did about people’s dream spa bathrooms (in conjunction with ukBathrooms) and I’ve started to plan my own- one day!

(image) (image) (image)

I love the idea of a bathroom with a view. A huge, floor to ceiling window (because of course I’ll be living in the middle of nowhere with no risk of peeping Toms) to let natural light flood in. A freestanding jumbo sized bath-tub would be ideal, something I can stretch out in and read a book…hours would happily pass by without me realising.

Candles are the perfect way to add atmosphere to a bathroom- be it in a luxurious spa setting or in your own small but perfectly formed one at home. A glass of wine and a few flickering candles does wonders for one’s mental health especially if you can watch the sun setting at the same time.

For the ultimate spa at home experience I would love a vast, walk in shower cubicle that doubles up as a steam room/sauna. I can’t think of anything more indulgent and steam is great for the skin. Of course to get all this I’m going to have to do a heck of a lot of hard work and money saving ahead of me, and that’s just to get myself on to the property ladder. By my calculations I should be able to get my dream bathroom by the time I’m about, oh…80?

What would your dream spa-style bathroom contain?

Light up your Home this Christmas

I love seeing the house all decked out for Christmas. If I had it my way our tree would be up on December 1st and wouldn’t be taken down until the New Year. I think there is something so warm and cosy about fairy lights and the smell of a Christmas tree and I’m always on the look out for new things to add to the collection.

I’ve featured the Hanging Lantern Company on the blog before (way back here) and was delighted when they got in touch again offering to spread a little Christmas cheer. They have a truly stunning range of festive treats and I was lucky enough to be able to try a few out (which also means I got my way and have some decorations up early!)

The first item I put together was one of the winter snowflake boxes (£12.95 for 8) which can be used either as a little gift box or be lit up with a Buttonlite LED and used as a table setting. I opted for the latter and loved the glow created, perfect for adding a subtle festive touch to the home (or placing on the cat for comedy value). The boxes were super simple to put together and the card is really sturdy so you know they’ll last- why not pop in some little nibbles and use as table settings for the big day?
Next up was this rather striking snowflake lantern which comes in a range of festive colours. This deep purple goes perfectly with the decor of the conservatory and it now has pride of place and looks stunning lit up in the evenings. It was a bit of a challenge to fit together, even with the extensive instructions but we got there in the end (thanks Mum!). This is something we’ll be bringing out year after year, and at £19.95 it’s an affordable way to add some cheer to your home over the festive season. A Buttonlite LED is included which will bring up to 36 hours of illumination.
Last but not least I found this Winter Floral cupcake holder (£9.95 for 12) which I think is a lovely idea for adding a special touch to Christmas bakes. I may not have had time to get in the kitchen lately, but it did make a brilliant tiara for the slightly bemused Mae!
Have you decorated your home for Christmas yet? I’m actually away this weekend and have a feeling that when I get home tomorrow night Dad might have snuck the tree up…
