Double Velvet and Christmas Baking

My lust for velvet is insatiable. Last week I picked up this red bodycon dress in New Look for £5, although it’s far too short to wear as a dress, so I teamed it with my Primark velvet skirt

I’m ignorning the fact that wearing double velvet makes me sound like a toilet roll.

I also discovered a vintage velvet dress in my wardrobe that I had forgotten about, so that’ll probably be showcased some time soon, and Mum is meant to be making me a velvet skirt when she has time! We bought the fabric back around Easter!

Re-coloured the hair yesterday, it came out darker, and less red than expected but I like it. It’s warm and perfect for this time of year.

And finally today I had a chance to bake. I’m learning to do it for fun now, instead of as an obsession and my only regret is that I haven’t enough time to do as much as I’d like…I’m going to make it a new years resolution to get back in to it!
However, today I made spiced and coco shortbread. It may not look pretty (despite edible glitter) but it tastes, and smells AMAZING.

I used this recipe, from one of my favourite foodie magazines…

I’m not sure I’ll get a chance to make anything else this side of Christmas but watch out for new recipes in the new year!

Have you done any festive baking? I’d love recipes!

10.02 outfit and haircut

Hello, mid-week again…somehow. How are we all? Surviving I hope?

Sunny day today, cold, but I’m going nowhere so less layers required in my outfit. I’m so sick of wearing five or six layers, spring really cant come fast enough.

with cardigan.

And yesterday I had my first hair cut in over 18months. I hate having my hair messed with and as a consequence it was far too long and out of control!
eight or nine inches later and I have something I can deal with

It feels so good, and so light! My hairdresser straightened it for me, but I am queen of low fuss hair, and look forward to experimenting with messier ways of wearing it down!

Right,
off to do something productive, like working on my course!

11.12 bit of everything

Friday again? And only two weeks till Christmas, I can’t keep up with this! I hope everyone has had an awesome week.

Thanks for the good luck vibes for shopping yesterday, it wasn’t actually as busy as I’d feared,
but that’s not to say it wasn’t chaotic and stressful! Lots of coffee breaks were essential, but Mum got everything she needed (including a gorgeous velvet dress for her work christmas party..I’m jealous) and it was, as ever, wonderful to spend the time with her!

First things first I have two new necklaces for sale.
Usual “rules”:
– e-mail me at adaisychaindream@googlemail.com with any questions/to purchase
– prices are inclusive of shipping (first class UK/airmail)
– I accept paypal only (though if you are UK and don’t have paypal I can accept cheque etc)

This is a bit of a bad photo, but antique glass drink me bottle, and vintage rabbit charm with (slightly creepy) red crystal eyes, on 16 inch gold plated chain.
£6.50 UK/£7 Europe/£7.50 elsewhere.

Metal red telephone box (so British) on 16 inch silver plated chain, although if you prefer this could be switched to a gold plated chain. This is quite a heavy pendant.
£6.50UK/£7 Europe/£7.50 elsewhere. Perfect for those obsessed with London!

Look how long my hair has got! Isn’t that insane? I’ve not had it cut in waaaay too long, but will be in the new year, not that I quite know what to do with it. I’m open to any suggestions!

And finally, what I’m wearing today!

Phew!

I’ve also noticed I’ve been getting quite a few questions in my comments, which I will try to answer asap,
as well as catching up on tags awards!

Happy Friday, have a fab weekend xxx
