post doomsday survival

Clearly I survived yesterday. It was infact really rather awesome.
Ok, the dentist part wasn’t awesome; the filling/injection didn’t hurt but I did have a funny turn after. Whatever. Coffee and a sit down and I was a-ok.
Managed to squish in a visit to the garden centre where I managed to pick up a couple of cards I needed and squee over the bunnies!

I won’t write too much about the afternoon. Other than my lacking sense of direction everything went PERFECT!

I would like to send shout outs to Hayley who is awesome and lovely and takes us to amazing places for a drink. And to Emma for arranging the whole experience and being downright gorgeous. My final mention goes to Jon Hurst hairdressing. Warm greeting, extra attention to check I wasn’t feeling too overwhelmed or anxious, wonderful atmosphere and a friendly team. Although it is quite a trek for me I think I am over my salon phobia and will be making regular trips here. It is truly worth spending that bit extra if you find somewhere you love!
I had the pleasure of Jon doing my hair, dear lord, show that man a photo and he creates miracles!

This is the only photo I have…but I know Emma took some, so watch this space!

pretty little things

Today I want to share some recent treasures.

Photobucket

Is this not the BEST idea? It is a perfume pendant by Esme Jewellery which I’ve filled with my current staple scent.

Photobucket

There’s a little roller ball inside which you take apart, spritz with your scent then put back together…perfume touch ups on the go housed in a super pretty pendant. Stephanie is a genius!

Photobucket

I really, really love the concept of this, it saves lugging a bottle of perfume around all day and is so easy to use!
Thank you to Esme for sending me one to test out!
The pendants cost from £24.99 which I think is pretty damn good; the quality and weight on the pendant is incredible and it came beautifully packaged with a spare perfume capsule.

What colour would you pick?
And what perfume would you put inside?

Next up is my new Daisy Chain Dream crown from Crown and Glory . As soon as I saw this on twitter I knew it HAD to be mine, so I made a sneaky pay day purchase.

Photobucket

(‘scuse the socks, I hadn’t decided on shoes!)

Photobucket

I’m going to try it as a wrist wrap too!

It’s official, I love Crown and Glory (and I know a lot of other bloggers do, too!)

And oldie but a goodie, this will forever be my favourite ring.

The end!

Blonde Ambition?

With perfect timing, just as I finally had some hair lopped off, a parcel from Aussie arrived. Last time it was a balloon…this time a wig…
I’m enjoying this Angel lark, if only for the increasingly random packages that make their way to my doorstep.

There is method behind this madness though, you see, I signed up for the “lusciously lighter style” challenge,

Photobucket

Photobucket

The first of these trial styles was a blonde bob.
Now, I’ve had short hair before, and I have also at times had highlights, but never have I gone fully blonde before.

Below,
well, this shows why.

Photobucket

I’m prepared to go all out for this challenge, truly I am. But golden tresses are ticked firmly off my list!

Maybe vibrant red will be next…

Variation on a Theme

In other words, this is my third day of wearing a floral dress.

Photobucket

Awful photos, sorry, sorry. Combination of the sun not yet having some out to play…and my camera being well, old. Ah well, Birthday at the end of April, I know what I’m asking for!

I used the Frizz Miracle conditioner that Aussie sent yesterday and woke up with hair like this

Photobucket

Aussie…Miracle is an understatement!

Now I need to brave a hair cut, it’s been a year…eek, and straight, my hair is below my bra level. I hate having my hair cut, HATE it. Someone in my personal space for what feels like years?! No thanks…
and also the indecision over what to have done! Subtle? Drastic? Longer? Shorter? Shave it all off? Whatever I pick, I’m guaranteed to hate it after a few days no matter how good the cut is.

Oh help.
Someone sedate me and get me to a hairdresser

((that might be Mum’s next tactic!))

Happy Monday my lovelies!

P.S. to all you who say I have long legs…I say
NOT WITHOUT SHOES ON I DON’T!

comfort clothes

Tuesday was one of those days where nothing I put on felt right. Outfits that seemed perfect in my head, were in reality, quite dire. Desperate and on the verge of running late for work I racked my brains for something I knew would make me feel presentable (not an easy feat when it’s grey and drizzly outside) and opted for my River Island leopard print skirt. The cut of this is so flattering and the swishy nature injects a little bit of fun!

At the other end of the comfort spectrum, you can’t beat PJs! This amazing pair was made for me by the wonderful Char (at my request of long and baggy!) Girl did good!

Someone else getting comfortable!

009

Other things making me cheery right now…

Mum clearly read my blog and bought me my first Valentine (haha)

007

She’s such a cutie.

My new favourite hair care…I won some Umbertto Gianni goodies before Christmas and loved them. I was in Boots the other day and saw the full sized products on 3 for £10 (they sell for around £5 each)

001

I’m especially impressed with the overnight mask. I was a bit worried it’d make a mess of my pillow but it absorbed in to my hair well, and I woke up with softer hair than I’ve had in ages!

(sorry the outfit photos are such bad quality, I’m struggling with light etc at the moment)
