Meet the Mighty Buds

Following on from my blog post the other week featuring the awesome Mighty Purse I now bring to you the Mighty Buds– yet another brilliant idea from the people at wowthem.com and yet another idea to file away for Christmas shopping (yeah, I’m on a roll it would seem…)
The Mighty Buds are an innovative product that uses electroluminescence technology to cascade light up and down a pair of super bright and bold headphones so music loves don’t just hear the beat, they can see it too! I seriously rate these as a pretty good headphone, and thanks to the customisable fit cushion tips they are also really comfortable to wear (which is saying something when you have an ear full of piercings) and despite being a bit of a novelty item they don’t compromise on sound quality.
At £29.99 these make for a perfectly packaged and super snazzy gift for the music lovers in your life. Available in three eye catching colours- orange, blue and green there is something for every one and every listening device. My orange pair (c/o) have been plugged non-stop in to my iPhone, brightening up rush hour bus journeys to see Ben no end. If you don’t fancy being the centre of attention you can easily switch the light effect off and just enjoy the high quality sound and you can also seamlessly switch between listening to music and taking a call.
When it comes to present buying this year I will be heading straight to wowthem for something slightly off the wall. A Mighty Purse is on my personal wish list and I have spied a few bits and pieces I’d like to pick up for other people too.
What’s on your list to Santa this year? What are you listening too right now? I’m alternating between a bit of Ryan Adams for some good old American rock ‘n roll as well as The Unthanks for a more haunting, folky vibe.

I Love: mini boxes of love

Is there ever a good time to start thinking about Christmas gifts? Probably not, it doesn’t feel right until the 1st December hits and by then the shops are packed and I generally lose the will. I’ve actually started picking up bits and pieces for people as I seem them (because sod’s law dictates they will otherwise sell out) and as such I’ve also started to think about festive content for the blog- click away now if you’re still in denial that it’s rapidly approaching!
I was recently sent the perfect little stocking filler from I Love… and couldn’t resist giving it a quick review and feature even though we’re still (just about) in October…
Honestly, how cute are these? In the box you get a bubble bath/shower cream and a moisturising lotion PLUS a shower puff for £5- hello bargain! (They are also currently only £3.50 in Superdrug). I was sent the Mango and Papaya set and it smells literally good enough to eat, so fruity and fresh! You’ll find a scent to suit everyone though, from the delicious sounding Strawberries and Cream to a taste of the exotic with the Tutti Frutti set.

I know so many people who would really appreciate these, and I’m not usually one to be taken with toiletries as a gift- I certainly wouldn’t mind been given one of these over the festive period, what a perfect way to perk up the cold dark days?

These mini box of love is available from Primark and selected Superdrug stores as well as online at Superdrug…I suggest stocking up before they sell out (and if Santa asks, Coconut and Cream is high on my Christmas list right now!)

Would you mind getting a set like this? What (or who!) would you like to see in your stocking when December 25th rolls around?

Meet the Mighty Purse

Over the last year or so I’ve become more and more attached to my little gadgets, most recently I finally took the plunge and got myself an iPhone and I honestly don’t know why I didn’t make the switch before as I love it. My only gripe with it is the battery life (I went for the 5s) as it’s not the greatest and as I often spend the weekends away from home I resent having to pack my charger every time. I might have found a solution though as I was recently introduced to the Mighty Purse, basically a portable power bank that can give you up to two full charges before needing to be re-charged itself. Of course it also doubles up as a gorgeous clutch bag/purse, perfect for a night out, or weekend away (tucked inside my usual massive handbag, as I always carry a similar type pouch, just minus the inbuilt charger!)
Available in 16 block colours and a selection of prints and patterns there is a Mighty Purse to suit all tastes. I think the £80 price tag is pretty reasonable given you’re getting a high-quality leather accessory with a techno twist and the Mighty Purse is suitable for most smartphones with a micro USB and Apple products with a special adapter (sold separately). There are a couple of special collections too, if you’re looking for something even fancier and for those who want something to fit a mini-tablet in there is a X-Body bag available too!

I actually think the entire wow them site is full of brilliant devices for our technology driven generation. I’ve spied a few things that will make perfect Christmas presents for friends and family, as well as a couple of gadgets I wouldn’t mind for myself!

What do you think of this idea?

PicStick

I’m forever snapping photos on my phone or iPad and wishing I had an actual copy to look at without having to reach for technology. Enter PicStick, a company offering your favourite photographs as beautiful magnets. At £9.50 for a sheet of 9 these make an awesome alternative to actual photo prints and would also make a fantastic gift for (dare I say it?) Christmas as they can be easily personalised for friends and family members to create a special reminder of fun times.
I was so impressed with the quality of these magnets, they look fantastic with a great glossy finish. I’ve been sticking mine all over my radiator in my bedroom as a cool way to liven it up (and until I move out and have my own fridge to decorate!) although I did split up the set and give a couple to Ben and a friend because I’m nice like that.

As I said, these cost £9.50 for a set of 9 with free worldwide delivery. You can also claim a cool 25% discount when you use the code DREAM25 at the checkout.

What do you think of this idea? I’m going to be creating some special sets to give as presents this year for sure, as well as adding to my own collection.

Lasting Memories

It’s kind of obvious that as a blogger you’re going to take a lot of photos and have a lot sitting on your computer doing not much. I’m lucky as I have two willing blog photographers; Mum and Ben. It was Ben behind the camera for this post and upon seeing the photos we both agreed that we really loved a certain one. Mum went one step further though, by demanding a print of it, which was swiftly arranged. I was then able to go one better thanks to the offer of a photo canvas (gifted for review) from The Canvas Prints
I’ve purchased photo canvas blocks as gifts before, but never from The Canvas Prints and they’ve all been around the same price point (around £20). I think I’ve ordered from three different online stores before and the quality has varied quite a lot. I’m pleased to repot that Canvas Prints lands itself at the top of the quality pile- the colours in the print were rich, and thanks to a laminate finish the picture is glossy and bright instead of slightly faded with a dull finish.
Value wise, a single canvas print up to 60″ will cost you £18.95 which is excellent especially given the quality. The website is really user friendly with all the options clearly laid out and delivery is both reasonable and speedy. I have photo canvas plans for a special gift for someone and I was wondering where would be best to have it made up and I know now exactly where I’m heading…
Mum’s delighted with her canvas and I’m basking in the “good daughter” glow. Who would you have a Canvas Print made up for? What would it be? I think they make for the perfect gift with a personal touch.
