Christmas Gifting for the home with White Stuff

I promised myself I wouldn’t start my Christmas themed posts too early this year, I’m sure there is a fine line between festive excitement and just down right annoying. I think now seems just about okay, if the steady stream of e-mails and the sudden influx of selection boxes in shops is anything to go by anyway!

I’m kicking of my festive gift guides with some gorgeous cosy pieces from blogger favourite brand White Stuff who have wowed me with their perfect presents for the home.

You can find all of the details for each product on the White Stuff website under the gifting section . I’m smitten with the velvet floral cushions and the oh so adorable Polar Bear egg cup- perfect for a cosy weekend breakfast in bed over the winter months!

Have you started thinking about Christmas yet? I’m torn between wanting to get all out excited and feeling like I should hold it back a little…hopefully by starting these posts I can summon up some inspiration for what to buy my friends and family though (and inspire you lovely lot as well.)

Sending a Smile with Parcelgenie

I love nothing more than spreading a little joy in life and what better way to do it than sending someone you care about, or want to cheer up a little gift to remind them how special they are? I was recently invited the try out Parcelgenie, an app that allows you to send a gift straight from your phone. Pretty much everything costs under a fiver and it couldn’t be simpler to use!
I was given two codes to send out a little something to a couple of lucky people in my life. I picked my Mum as the first recipient as she has been my rock lately, and then I chose Ben because well a) I love him and b) He’s a complete sugar junkie so anything edible in the post is going to be a winner.
I selected a cute owl themed gift for my Mum which contained two chocolate owls and an owl keyring. Owls are a bit of a family thing and I thought this would be the perfect way to say thank you. For Ben I chose the “man box” full of retro sweets which I just knew he’d enjoy.

To send a gift you literally just need to fire up the app, select which gift you want to send then add in the recipients phone number. Pay for your purchase (prices include p&p) and your giftee will get a text asking them to reply with a delivery address. Simple! The gifts arrived within two days of address confirmation and we were pretty happy with the results.

For those without a smartphone or who don’t want to download an app Parcelgenie have also just launched a text service (TxtGenie) which follows the same principles just done by text instead. Genius! First time users of the text service will also receive 50% off of their first gift!
Small but perfectly formed, the gifts are the perfect size for popping through the letter box and come beautifully packaged. I really think Parcelgenie are on to something here. Whether you want to say “Happy Birthday”, “Well Done” or quite simply just because this is the perfect way to show you care.
What’s the nicest thing anyone has done for you?

Flamingo Gifts (round two!)

Back before Christmas (which feels like forever ago now) I was spoilt rotten by a selection of gifts from the team at Flamingo Gifts. They recently got in touch again to see if I’d like the chance to review another selection of goodies and I didn’t hesitate in saying yes! I stand by what I said in my last post, Flamingo Gifts really is a one stop shop for a fun and funky present for someone special- or for yourself. I love browsing the site to check out the latest arrivals, it’s one of those little treasure troves where you never know what you might find.
As you can see, I was sent quite an epic selection which couldn’t be more me! The second I saw this biscuit makeup bag I was smitten. I’m a complete biscuit addict and this makes the perfect home for the various lipsticks and balms I carry around on a daily basis.

I was delighted to receive the Daisy Flamingo Candle as it’s been on my radar since it launched. I was a little unsure as to what it would smell like as I don’t think I’ve ever smelt a Daisy before but it makes for a lovely, subtle and Spring-like addition to my bedroom. I do love Flamingo candles, probably more than Yankee candles as they have such a fun and unique range of scents.

Also on the unique candle front came the Pyro Pet which is so macabre and yet so fun! Essentially the candle, when burnt down reveals a metal skeleton which very much makes it worth the £24.99 price tag…however, it’s so awesome to look at and I’m not sure I can bring myself to light it! One of these has been on my wish list for ages and I’m so stupidly happy to finally own one!

Another item that has been on my wish list for a long time were these Siamese Cat salt & pepper shakers which I have out on display in my room because they are too adorable to hide away until I move. I have always had a soft spot for novelty condiment holders and this pair just make me very happy.

Last but my no means least comes this Ted Baker mini notebook and pen which I have given to my Mum as she just loves Ted Baker and all things pink and girly. I adore Ted Baker’s stationary range for something chic and yet affordable. Mum is delighted with this and it was nice to be able to give her an extra Mother’s Day present!

I’ve been loving seeing what other bloggers picked up from Flamingo Gifts- it’s always interesting to get inspiration on what to buy for people and to discover items you’d perhaps previously ignore. Thank you to Flamingo Gifts for the amazing box of goodies- and for being all round awesome when it comes to providing a great shopping experience!

More Gift Inspiration with Butterfly Twists

I know, two gift related posts in one day but when I was shown this wish list from the team behind Butterfly Twist shoes I couldn’t resist giving it a cheeky little share.
If I were sending an infographic to Santa this year it would totally look like this! I have a perfectly good bike and yet this blue one is calling my name. Likewise the bag, the watch and the iPad all have a new appeal seeing them laid out like this altogether. One thing that is on my list regardless is a new pair of Butterfly Twists; I’ve owned a couple of pairs over the years and they are just perfect especially at this time of year…I can party all night in my super high heels then stumble home in some comfy flats, thus reducing the chances of a night spent in A&E (I’ve almost made it a year without a visit!) or some very sore feet the next day!
What’s on your list to Santa?

Little Gift Ideas from QVC

It was only the other day that my Mum and I were reminiscing about when QVC first launched. We didn’t have cable TV at the time and were fascinated when we first saw it on the screen at a family friend’s house. It was one of those channels that we would just watch and wonder at- who knew all those things for sale actually existed, and how could be possibly live without them? Fast forward to the present day and it’s a channel and we rarely think of except in a fit of nostalgia. I was delighted to discover that they do still exist online (and probably on TV as well, can anyone confirm?) and took great pleasure in having a look through the website to conjure up a post with some lovely little ideas for the season of giving.
These are the sort of gifts I’d be buying for my Mum if I hadn’t already done my Christmas shopping. They’d also be perfect for gifting to your favourite Aunt or your BFF and none of them will break the bank.
First up for the traveller in your life is this abstract luggage tag by Lulu Guiness, £26.00. I think this would make a chic addition to any suitcase or weekend bag- I’m very tempted to ask Santa for one myself!
You know I can’t resist a bit of sparkle and often find myself buying jewellery as gifts for those I care about the most. QVC has such a huge collection, the pieces I’ve featured above are only the tip of the iceberg. I’m really taken with the necklace by Miss Lola which costs a bargain £11.42 and this sparkler of a ring from Diamonique (£25) which is just perfect for jazzing up any outfit, not just for the Christmas period.
What are your memories of QVC? Have you spied anything you’d like to find underneath your Christmas Tree? This Tarte blusher is top of my list- I’m super excited to finally see the brand available to buy in the UK!
