Until The Last Petal Falls

I’m not usually one to get excited about an up-coming film release but ever since I first caught wind of the Disney live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast (even the trailer gives me goosebumps) I’ve been counting down the days until it’s release.

Everyone has a favourite Disney film and for me it has always been Beauty and the Beast the story, the characters and the songs- I just love it all. Combine that with my love of jewellery and keen magpie eye I was very excited to hear that Disney Couture were bringing out a range of jewellery to coincide with the film release and immediately added every single item to my wish list.

I’ve been very fortunate during my time blogging to build up a great working relationship with certain brands, one of those being WatchShop.com who very kindly sent me this absolutely stunning necklace from the collection*. The enchanted rose is a key component to the film and capturing it in jewellery form is frankly genius. I’m absolutely smitten with this necklace- the detailing is impeccable and it is as much a keepsake as it is a piece you can wear. A few other pieces from the collection might make it on to my birthday list (Mrs Potts earrings anyone?) but this necklace will forever hold a very special place in both my heart and my jewellery collection.

Are you excited for the live-action remake? What is your all time favourite Disney movie?

I’ll leave you with this ear-worm to end your week on…

The Prettiest Pastels from Coast*

The days are slowly but surely getting longer which means Spring is on it’s way. It also means that impatience to be back in short sleeves and sandals is peaking and my obsession with pastels is ramping up a notch.

Today I’m fuelling that obsession by bringing you a wish list of the prettiest pastel items from Coast whose website is home to some of the most gorgeous dresses and skirts that I have seen in a long while. Never mind the fact that I have no need for occasion pieces any time soon- now I’ve seen them I can’t help but want them, even if the closest I’m likely to get to a wedding this year is walking past the Bristol Register Office.

Fancy florals, cloud-like chiffon and the swishiest skirts I could find make up this wish list and should you have a wedding to attend, a prom to dance at or a super swanky garden party invite on your hands then Coast should definitely be one of the shops you head to on your mission for the perfect outfit. Alas for me these pieces shall firmly remain in my dreams, I don’t even think turning 30 in a couple of months gives me reason to splurge on any of these- not to mention the fact that my budget probably just about covers a packet of pastel mini eggs right now. Ah well, if I can’t wear the colours I’m craving at least I can snack on them…
Have any of these pieces captured your imagination? What’s on your wish list for Spring?

Under £100 LFW Wish List with Mallzee

Ok, so in true Laura style I am (fashionably) late to the whole London Fashion Week thing, it has indeed been and gone by now and I’m only just hitting publish on this post. I have no excuse other than this season the whole thing seemed to pass me by. There was nowhere near as much buzz about the shows across my most used social media channels and I couldn’t tell you the first thing about upcoming fashion and beauty trends right now despite usually having earmarked a few.

Anyway, I digress- that’s not at all what this post is about. This post is about me finally pulling together a wish list of items that I would have worn to LFW had I been attending that all together costs under £100. This is in association with Mallzee.

Mallzee is THE must have app for anyone who likes to shop. Available free from both the Apple and Android App stores Mallzee is a platform that brings you hundreds of brands from Boohoo and Zara to Allsaints and Missguided all in one place enabling you to create wish lists galore and then shop directly from the app! You can also sign up for handy alerts that will let you know when the price of an item you love drops in price or goes on sale and there is only one checkout process involved no matter how many brands you shop with.

The App is really well set out and easy to use, it’s basically Tinder for fashion! You can search by item, save your size details and get inspiration from specially curated feeds. It’s highly addictive and I spent rather a long time popping together my under £100 wish list- not because it’s complicated but because I just lost track of time browsing…oops!
Outfit wise I went for something somewhat trend led but still practical. I’d wear the H&M leather look dungarees as a base layer with perhaps a short sleeve tee underneath. Over those I’d wear this mesh embroidered detail dress also from H&M and toughen things up a bit more with these AX Paris chunky ankle boots and keep my hands free with the backpack from Zara. The whole outfit comes in at £95.96 leaving enough change to grab a coffee on the go…winner!
If you’re yet to discover Mallzee then I strongly suggest checking it out- as a bonus if you sign up with my referral code we each get £5 free to be used on a purchase of £5 or more, it really is a win-win situation!

My code is “LAURABU” so get signing up and get shopping!

The Embroidered Jeans Re-Visited

If there is one trend I’m glad to see sticking around for another season it’s the one for all things embroidered. I first fell for it early in the Summer when I caved in and bought my first pair of mom jeans (see blog post here). At the time I thought they were strictly a warm weather thing, not quite sure how to style them for colder times but with a little bit of trial and a lot of error I finally settled on a look I liked. Since then I’ve become a bit of a magpie for embroidered items and I predict a few more pieces finding their way in to my possession over the coming months.

Top: Topshop (similar) | Jeans: Glamorous (darker version only £15!) | Boots: River Island (available still on Zalando)

Although this is quite a simple outfit it takes me so far out of my comfort zone it may as well reside on another planet. Wearing fitted tops with jeans is a style barrier of mine but I felt surprisingly at ease in this combination once I got used to it. The attention deflecting boots probably played some part in that- there is something so spirit lifting about popping on a pair of jazzy ankle boots!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready for another week. I had such a brilliant week last week that I’m not sure this one can compare but far be it from me to write it off before it begins, I’m open to whatever it wants to throw my way.

What trends are you glad to see sticking around? How would you style these jeans?

A Casual Wish List*

Apparently this weekend is a wish list weekend in the land of Laura, goes like that sometimes doesn’t it? New season stock is starting to land in the shops and with slight hints that Spring might be on it’s way I’ve started to think about how I’d like my wardrobe to be looking in the coming months. I’ve never really put much thought in to a casual wardrobe before now, my attention tends to go on my smarter or “trendier” clothes and dress down days end up being jeans and whatever jumper is clean at the time, but I’ve found myself drawn to a more laid back look during my browsing recently and thought I’d pop some of my favourite finds down to both provide inspiration and hopefully find out where my readers head to shop for their relaxed weekend clothing and accessories.
As I mentioned in my post yesterday I’ve got a bit of a thing for backpacks at the moment and I think they are the ultimate accessory to complete a casual look. Much like yesterday I was once again drawn to the metallic offerings on the high street with this Mi-Pac pebbled silver one with the one that has made it to the top of my list.

Breaking away from my usual attraction to either black, camel or grey coats I think this orange number from Bonmarche would be perfect for Spring weekend wearings, especially when paired with mid-blue skinny jeans (pair featured also from Bonmarche)- perhaps it is the slightly brighter weather, or that I’m just generally happier and more in love with life at the minute but bright colours are definitely the way forwards.

My obsession with Monki is probably my worst kept secret right now and whilst I am seriously wanting to own pretty much everything from their latest collections it was this ringer tee caught my attention straight away. Again perfect teamed with skinny jeans and with it’s fun and positive slogan (and the fact it only costs £10) this is definitely going to feature in my next Monki shop visit. As this last week has proven to me I am actually incapable of leaving the shop without making a purchase. Two visits in to Cabot Circus in the last seven days saw me leave with a piece or two (or three) each time. I may as well just had them my bank details and tell them to empty my account!

After spending years avoiding them I’ve become a bit of a trainers junkie. My real weakness is Converse but these embroidered beauties from Ego have wormed their way in to my heart. They would be the perfect way to make a subtle nod to the embroidery trend and I think they’ll look perfect with jeans, denim skirts, denim dresses…just about everything denim in fact. A bargain at £29.99, I really can’t justify another pair of shoes right now BUT I am sorely tempted.

Where do you head for your casual wardrobe needs? I’m still fairly new to actively seeking out more laid back pieces so guidance would be welcome.
