Gift Ideas for the fashion loving men in your life*

Sorry guys, it’s October and I am dipping my toes in to the world of thinking about Christmas. I’ve started my shopping thanks to needing to be ultra careful with money this year and I figured there will be people out there in the same boat, or who just like to be organised and so I’m starting my content earlier than ever. Please don’t worry though- I’m not going to be all “yay Christmas” about it and shove festive posts down your throat every day…it’s going to be gentle.

Today I’m kicking off with some gift ideas for the men in your life. I might be (not so) young, free and single these days but I still have a brother and a father to buy for both of whom love to shop and take an interest in clothes and I’m sure I won’t be alone in that. I’ve popped together a few picks from men’s fashion store stand-out.net that should cater for all tastes and budgets.

Coat: Tommy Hilfiger | Backpack: Hype | Scarf: Vivienne Westwood | Shoes: Religion | Duffel Bag: Hype | Hoodie: Superdry

With a wide range of brands including Levis, Happy Socks, Ray-ban and Eastpak (barely scratching the surface here) this is pretty much a one stop shop for the fashionable blokes in your life.

Let me know what gift guides and features you’d find most useful this year, I’ll do my best to cover it all!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone!
I hope you all have a wonderful day spent doing whatever makes you the happiest.
I’m taking a break from the blog until the new year now as I have plans to spend as much time with family, both my own and Ben’s over the next several days and take a complete break from all things work related.

I’ll be back in 2016 with some new (and hopefully exciting) content as well as plenty of fresh starts and new adventures.

#oneforyouoneforme with Long Tall Sally

The gift guides are coming to an end but it wouldn’t be Christmas until I presented a guide from one of my favourite brands Long Tall Sally who have put together their own rather fabulous gift guide to tempt and tease. I’ve worked with the brand a number of times over the last year and a bit and they never fail to impress me therefore my own gift guide and wish list is rather extensive and I am seriously hoping that Santa and his Elves are reading!
Topping my personal wish list has to be these fantastic glittery boots and adorable penguin PJs… it isn’t Christmas unless there is a new pair of pyjamas involved.

As for gift giving, well, I think clothes can be a bit of a tricky area unless you know someone really, REALLY well. I’ve focused my gift guide on the fantastic array of accessories on offer, all perfectly proportioned to suit the taller frame. This faux fur scarf is ideal for anyone who likes to add a touch of glamour to their look and these gorgeous gloves will keep frostbite at bay!

What would you most like to receive from my list? Aside from the boots I’m also really wishing I had a swanky party to go to as that metallic maxi dress is calling out to me.

A Soap & Glory Giveaway

I’m yet to meet anyone who doesn’t love the Soap & Glory range of products, from THAT fabulous scent to the gorgeously retro packaging I was sucked in from the first time I tried it.

Over the next week or so The Glory Girls will tour the UK and give out free make-up make overs as well as Soap & Glory goodies in selected shopping malls. Former Pussycat doll Kimberley Wyatt will also be in attendance at The Trafford Centre on Sunday 13th December, participating in a behind the scenes photo shoot.

In the run up to the event Soap & Glory have put together a little video of the girls talking about some of their top makeup tips as well as their coming tour…and that’s not all! There’s also a giveaway going on so that one of you can win a lovely treat from the brand!
Follow the simple instructions below for your chance to win the Perfect Scents gift set, perfect for a spot of post-party pamper time. Open to UK entrants only, giveaway runs from Sunday 13th December – Sunday 20th December and winner will be picked and contacted shortly after.

The Bargain Party Dress

December can be a very expensive month. Between shopping for presents and Christmas parties money seems to flow out faster than I can keep a track of. It doesn’t stop me wanting a new outfit for the annual work party though, despite owning plenty of perfectly serviceable dresses that I’ve worn perhaps only a handful of times before I get an overwhelming urge to pick up a new frock as soon as the date is announced. This year was no exception and I went off to our party on Saturday night in a sparkly new frock that for once didn’t break the bank!

Dress: H&M (get it here) | Shoes: Dune (similar here)

At £12.99 this dress is an utter bargain right? Actually when my Mum ordered it for me (she knew I was taken with it) H&M had it on offer for just £6.99 which is just insane. I did worry that a red dress might be too much with my hair but actually I really liked how it looked and wasn’t going to let my hair dictate what dress I could or couldn’t wear.

As the dress has subtle sparkle running through it I thought it was high time to dig out my super sparkly Dune shoes that only get an outing at this time of year. If you can’t go top-to-toe glitter in December then when can you, right?

In previous years I’ve gone really OTT with the sequins for the work Christmas party but decided to tone it down a notch this year, a simple style isn’t usually how I party but with such a bold colour I really didn’t miss out on the bling.

Do you like to have something new for the party season? Have you spied any bargains on the high street?
