Down at the Piano Bar with Vendula London

The champions of unique Vendula London creative bags have done it again with their gorgeous new collection of handbags. I have quite a collection of Vendula London by now but I think my latest addition, from their Piano Bar collection has to be a favourite.

Dress: New Look | Blouse: H&M | Loafers: New Look | Bag c/o Vendula London

This bag, in what appears to be a first for Vendula London has actual glitter on it. You have no idea how happy this makes me! I opted for the pink version of the bag but it also comes in black. Other than the colour there is one small difference in that the pink bag has a finer glitter which won’t damage clothing whereas the black has thicker, coarser glitter that is only on the front of the bag to avoid potential damages. The attention to detail on Vendula bags is second to none, these are real statement pieces that are well worth every penny of the price. If piano bars aren’t your thing then make sure to check out their other collections…Downtown Abbey fans you’re in for a treat!

This is such a classy piece that dresses up any outfit. With my sights set firmly on getting back to work soon I decided to pop on an office appropriate outfit and I feel that this bag works well with it…but it would also look great with a party dress for a swanky night out.

The pinafore dress is the same as the purple one I featured the other week but in black from the tall range. At under £15 I couldn’t resist getting both, and the h&m blouse was another ridiculous bargain at under a tenner.

This post is a bit all over the place, which pretty much sums up myself right now too. I’m working on getting my head straight though so in the mean time just sit back, relax and enjoy the whole point of this post- the glorious handbag!

Bright & Bold picks from the MyBag sale

Sale season is a real test of my willpower and restraint. Now, more so than ever I need to be watching what I spend and not making rash purchase but when every shop on the high street and online is selling amazing wares at bargain prices it does make it highly likely that at some point I am going to take leave of my senses and cave in.

Today’s “I’m off sick and bored so might as well torture myself with online window shopping” website of choice is Mybag.com who are currently offering up to 40% off some of their extensive range of bags and accessories. As we’ve been blessed with such gorgeous weather lately my eyes have been wandering towards some of the brightest offerings and I’ve compiled my current wish list below (well, a rather scaled down one if I’m honest).

Aspinal of London | Michael Kors | Lulu Guiness | Lauren Ralph Lauren | Diane von Furstenberg | Furla

All of these would be just so perfect for the summer months and a great companion to my current favoured all denim attire. As it stands I’ve only just been able to justify only two sales purchases in the form of an £8 denim skirt and £15 pair of jeans, both essential and both regretfully not a bright and bold handbag!

Have you made the best of the bargains on offer? Which of these bags do you fancy the most?

A Dress my Tech Wish List*

One of the best things I did was to change mobile network to one that offered better prices and a lot more for your money. It was then I FINALLY got my hands on an iPhone, years late to the game and almost two years on I can’t imagine owning any other make.

I’m a little bit obsessed with buying new cases for my phone, which I really need to stop doing as I’m due an upgrade in a couple of months so really it’s not a good use of my money. However I’ve popped together a little wish list of quirky covers that have caught my eye and I’d be really interested to know where you get your favourites from.

I’m actually quite surprised there aren’t more cases with cats on this list- most likely it’s because I already own most of the ones out there! I love Skinnydip cases so much, my wish list for there is MASSIVE (the other one I desperately want is the fluffy bunny bums one, how cute?).

The chill pills case comes from blogger favourite brand Ban.do. At £35 (from Selfridges) this is way out of my budget but I shall keep my eyes peeled for a sale!

On the other end of the price spectrum you can’t beat eBay for phone cases, you really can’t! Probably half of my collection comes from there and I don’t think I have ever paid more than £2 for a case. You do have to wait a few weeks for international delivery but the quality of these tend to be far better than you’d expect. I keep toying with the idea of this Shakespeare quote case, a bargain at £1.10 and I think the ice cream cone case is perfect for Summer, or what passes for Summer round here.

As I said above, I’d love to know where you get your favourite cases from, as soon as I know what my phone upgrade will be I shall no doubt start shopping for it!

A Satchel for Summer*

This Summer I’ve been craving pastels and bright colours more than anything. I guess it’s the grey skies and gloomy atmosphere that’s doing it but I suddenly want all of my accessories to be as bright and punchy as possible- even ditching my beloved black Mulberry Bayswater in favour of a mint green TK Maxx find. I’ve always had a soft spot for Satchel Bags, from their multi-ways to wear and practical nature to the way they effortlessly make you look that little bit smarter, both in dress and intellect. So in my sick-leave induced virtual window shopping I’ve popped together a little round-up of some of the highstreet’s best offerings.
The top two bags are via House of Fraser and the most expensive offerings being Michael Kors and DKNY. Despite being (in my eye) what I wouldn’t call a typical satchel I was persuaded by the beautiful soft colours and hint of luxury to include them in this list. It’s not all designer details at House of Fraser though, you’ll find plenty to suit all tastes and all budgets- I never manage to leave a store without some kind of purchase!
The middle row goes to ASOS, home of every bag style under the sun including those you never knew existed. I especially like the laser cut detail satchel as it’s perfect for adding a laid back boho vibe to a denim and white tee kind of outfit or a paisley printed dress.
Last but by no means least come two beauties from Brit-Stitch, a brand I have followed from the start and watched grow and flourish. I’m a big bag kind of girl, I just don’t seem to be able to condense down what I carry but given how head over heels I am with the adorable “with love from Brit-Stich” pink heart detailed mini satchel I’m going to have to perfect the art.
Are you brightening up your summer with accessories too? The perfect compliment to a sun-shiney day and an essential mood booster on the grey ones.

Wow at a Wedding with Rosie Willett*

It’s wedding season once again and no matter whether you’re the bride, bridesmaid or a guest the pressure to impress is high! Another one of my “pass the time” browsing sessions has involved searching for the prettiest accessories to make any wedding outfit shine despite not having any invites myself and one of the most stunning discoveries I’ve made is Rosie Willett who makes the most stunning bridal headbands (which aren’t just for brides!).
Honestly, are these not the hair accessories that dreams are made of? More of a jewellery for the head than anything else I think. I’m basically smitten with the entire website but have a special soft spot for the newly launched blossoms collection which is inspired by natural vines and rambling plants.
How do you make sure you stand out at a wedding- or indeed any special occasion. I seem to have gone down a floral crown road for the last three weddings I’ve been to so it goes without saying that I am so taken with these!
