You know that feeling when you’ve been searching for something for what feels like forever and then you find the perfect match? That’s exactly what happened with this denim dress, I’ve been after one for probably three years and had given up hope of finding one that matched the image in my head. The ones I’d previously tried were mostly too short, often too decorated but mostly they just weren’t me.
I found this one by accident. Another detour in to Primark to pick up some socks I’d seen for my best friend led to me walking past the sale rack. I picked up this dress without much hope and proceeded to try it on. A mere £5 later and the rest is history, I finally have *that* dress.
You’ll have to excuse the shoes, they are usually reserved for work but at the time I took these pictures I couldn’t bend far enough to get any other kind of shoe on my feet. Anyway, they kind of worked with my over all 90’s look…massive hoop earrings (un-pictured) but included.

Another thing I’ve been searching for is the perfect pouch for keeping in my handbag, something to store all those little bits and pieces that seem to run away the second you need them in. I’d seen a lot of twitter activity around East London brand Its Not Me Its You and instantly began browsing. I was lucky enough to end up in contact with the lovely Billi which resulted in myself being sent the selection above. Included in this parcel of joy was THE perfect handbag pouch, a pencil case with the cutest slogan ever and a fabulous travel card holder. All made to the highest standard and manufactured right here in England.

Everything by this brand is sheer genius- check out the Mean Girls inspired iPhone 5 case or these sound words of advice.

I’m pretty sure a large portion of my future earnings will be going on more brilliance from Its Not Me Its You and I’m willing to bet I won’t be alone in this.

This winter has totally seen me turn in to a mad hat lady. I ignored them for so many years mainly because I always wore my hair tied back, now it’s pretty much always down hats don’t only keep my head warm but keep my hair out of my face. Hence wearing them indoors too (told you I was mad!)

I’m currently obsessed with this Pearl Beanie I was sent from Accessoryo recently. The colour goes with everything and it’s so warm, it also has just the right amount of head space (if that makes any sense) meaning it sits just how I like my hats to. I wasn’t overly familiar with Accessoryo before this post but they are a bit of a hidden gem, need winter warmers? Laddered all of  your tights? Want a scarf for your bloke so he stops stealing yours? This is the place.

Talking of hidden gems, why do I keep forgetting about this dress? I should wear it more. I like how swishy the midi length is. I can twirl around to my heart’s content. The quality of the photos pretty much sums up the quality of this week’s weather. The photos were taken near 11am and it was still half dark outside.

Oh well,

6 days until Christmas and I go back to work in 4…I can’t complain!

Nica, a high street bag brand that can do no wrong in my eyes. I’ve loved their designs ever since I first clamped eyes on them some years ago and I’ve owned a fair few styles over that time too.

I was really excited when they tweeted about a new printed collection and even more excited when they offered to send me one of the bags to style up to show how versatile prints can be. My new bag- the Nica Play Tulip Crossbody (£39) is far smaller than  the bags I typically carry but it was a much needed reason to clear the rubbish out of my bag and actually, it’s the perfect size for my needs.

For work yesterday I wore the bag with a New Look top, H&M skirt and Clarks wedges (well, actually I changed to flats before leaving as my foot already had started to hurt). I was a bit worried that the print meant I’d stick to plain outfits but the neutral colours meant it pretty much goes with everything and pattern clashing is cool anyway! It’s not the point of this post but I was amazed at how much easier it was to have a smaller bag on me for work too, less scrabbling around for what I need at my desk and much easier to store!

For the afternoon I chucked on an old Oasis top that I found lurking, my new Primark £9 skinnies and some Bertie loafers. Again it was really easy to pair the print with an outfit, although what I wore was fairly plain I could and will happily pair this bag with any number of combinations.

They may not be the most exciting of outfits (goodbye inspiration) but it does go to show how something not obviously versatile actually can be.
