How nice of you Nica! *giveaway*

There are some brands I’ve been lucky enough to work with more than once on the blog and Nica is one of those. They’ve always been so nice and friendly through all their social media accounts and have provided me with several gorgeous handbags for my collection.

My most recent partnership with Nica also has benefits for you, my loyal readers too…not only did they send me a brand new bag from their Crossbody Bag section they have donated another for me to giveaway!

Dress: Peacocks | Shoes c/o Ikrush | Bag c/o Nica

I am so in love with the deep berry colour of the Lizzy Crossbody Bag in Raspberry. It’s the perfect size for popping essentials in for an evening out or a trip to the shops- I love my Bayswater, but sometimes I need something smaller and lighter and this berry beauty fits the bill perfectly. As with all Nica bags it’s of super high quality and I’ve found they last for ages, I really hope you love it as much as I do because one of you guys reading this will be lucky winner of one of your own!
Entering the giveaway couldn’t be easier, just follow the instructions on the rafflecopter below- Sorry but this is a UK only giveaway but I will make it up to you in the near future!

Good Luck! Sorry I look so hot and bothered in these photos…it was such a hot day, nearing 30 degrees and it’s just impossible to find anything to wear in the humid British Summertime (although the sunshine makes me endlessly happy!)

Flights of Fancy

I almost squealed out loud with excitement when my friend Nats from Flights of Nancy got in touch to let me know you could now personalise your purchases from her shop, and I think I did let out a squeak when she mentioned she’d like to send me a personalised piece. I first featured the brand on my blog way back in 2012 and it’s been a huge pleasure to see it grow and expand as time has progressed. I now own three gorgeous pieces from the shop and each one of them gets compliments every time they are worn, a true sign of a beautifully crafted piece I think!
Dress: New Look | Sandals c/o Clarks | Bag c/o Flights of Nancy
This bag is perfect for throwing in some summer essentials for a stroll around the local park, as much as it is perfect for wearing on a bike ride to the shops or to work. As ever with Flights of Nancy the bag is amazing quality as well as ethically sourced…and I’ve failed to capture the stunning batik lining! It feels extra special with my name stamped in to the leather as well, I’ve never really owned anything with my name on, not since I was in primary school anyway and it pleases me in some small way.
If I am honest I had totally forgotten about this dress, which is a shame as it would have been perfect during the super hot weather we had! I’m really loving the midi length this summer, and a floral print never fails me. I’d also forgotten about these sandals, how bad am I? Again I wish I had found them again sooner as they are one of the few pairs that actually fit my flipper feet without making me feel like they’ve been bound, hello new/old staple.
Thank you again to Nats for sending me such a special piece, and to anyone looking to invest in a high quality accessory…check out her shop! I can really vouch for the travel bags as being the perfect in flight companion!

Summer Scarves with ScarfWorld

Back when I was in college I was rarely seen without a scarf around my neck- a thick knitted piece in winter followed by something more lightweight when warmer weather came around. They were my kind of trademark, a bit like a comfort blanket but as years have gone by, despite having a few left in my collection I’ve been less inclined to wear them.
I was recently contacted by ScarfWorld, who as the name suggests sell a huge array of scarves and taking a look at the website re-kindled my interest in adding this simple yet stylish accessory to an outfit. I picked out a couple of pieces which were totally different to anything I owned already and set about styling both of them with the same outfit to see what a difference they could make.
The outfit consists of a Primark skirt, New Look vest and some chic ballet pumps. There’s a distinct lack of jewellery involved as I wanted the attention on my necklace and not drawn to some wrist and finger bling instead…that and I kind of forgot about jewellery that morning, oops!
The first scarf you can see is the peach butterfly scarf, which in the summer sun is more of a coral colour with immense butterfly detailing. This scarf is huge, seriously big and could easily double up as a picnic blanket (although it’s too pretty for that). I used to really struggle with this style of scarf as my folding skills are somewhat lacking, but with a little big of practice these become super versatile as they can be folded in several different ways to get different looks. I seriously love this scarf, it’s so bright and summery and excellent value for £7.95, it’s lightweight enough to wear on a really hot day too and I can see it coming in handy for protecting my shoulders against the harsh sun- just an added bonus really!
The second scarf was an entirely different style, which I chose from the huge selection of floral scarves on the website. I love the vintage feel to this and the delicate rose detail. This style is like an oversized bandana and I’ve tied it simply so it sits prettily over my shoulders. This added a real ladylike feel to the entire outfit and I can see me getting a lot of wear out of this, I think it’ll be coming with me as a shawl to a wedding I’m going to in a few weeks time as it ties in wonderfully with my outfit and will be really useful if it gets a little bit chillier in the evening. Again, at £7.95 this is amazing value and the quality of both of these scarves is exceptional.
I’m going to be experimenting more with scarves again now I’ve remembered just how much I love them and I look forward to styling these two in different ways. What’s your favourite way to wear a scarf?

Tropicana

It would seem I’m on a roll this Summer with finding jumpsuits that actually fit both my torso and my legs. This pleases me greatly as I’ve become quite the fan of wearing an all-in-one outfit, it helps my indecisive nature perfectly and the proportions of the top and bottom halves of the outfit are automatically just right.

Jumpsuit c/o Fashion Union | Sandals: Asda | Watch c/o Guess Jewellery | Necklace: Sushilla Jewellery

I would usually choose something baggier on the leg in anything other than jeans as I don’t like to draw attention to my pins. The legs on this jumpsuit are super flattering though and I just can’t get enough of the tropical floral print and bright blue colour.
The colours in this jumpsuit lend themselves perfectly to gold, brown and bright accessories so it didn’t take too much thought to pop on my neon and brown sandals from Asda, gorgeously bright pink and gold watch from Guess and my favourite gemstone necklace from Sushilla Jewellery. I think the whole look paired together pretty well and I actually wore this outfit for a hen night dinner at the weekend when I wanted something cool and not too casual.
Fashion Union have some incredible pieces on their website right now including the most perfect dolphin print co-ord which might actually make me give that trend a try!
I hope everyone had a brilliantly sunny weekend, I just cannot get enough of this weather.

In Reverse

I’ll start off by saying that I’m not a clutch bag girl. I think I’ve only ever used one twice in my life, I just can’t travel light! But with a wedding on the horizon and having to think more and more about what I carry on a daily basis after my back troubles I’ve started to see the appeal of the minimal approach; that and seeing some seriously stylish bloggers rocking the clutches lately.
One of the best clutches I’ve seen this season is the Fleur reversible clutch bag from Paul’s Boutique. It comes in five reversible colour-ways, all fabulously fun and bright and spot on for the colour block trend. It’s a bargain too, as for £25 you are effectively getting two bags. My eye is on the pink one, which converts to a lovely bright blue.
Sorry for the super short post, this is probably my busiest week of the year! What do you think of these super-duper bags? Which colour combo would you pick? Sell me the benefits of clutches over carriers.
