Weekend Uniform

Skinny jeans and ballet pumps are a combination I never anticipated myself feeling comfortable wearing, but this year I seem to be gravitating towards them both at the weekends and learning to not hate the resulting effect. I usually only feel comfortable in jeans, or any tight trouser when I am wearing some kind of heel…but I think finally, at 27 years of age I have finally stopped hating my body.

Top: New Look | Jeans: Primark | Shoes c/o Shoe Zone

I’ve been on the hunt for some neutral colour ballet flats for ages and this bargain of a pair fit the bill perfectly, and unlike many a pair of pumps, don’t shred your feet on the first wear. I’ve had several pairs of shoes from Shoe Zone before and I am yet to be disappointed or notice that they are from a budget brand rather than somewhere a bit more pricey. I think I might get the black version for work- at only £9.99 it would be very rude not to.
I wore this outfit over a week ago now for a pub lunch with friends to celebrate my Birthday. The top was “borrowed” from Mum and was perfect over my Primark skinny jeans to hide a roast dinner baby. I seem to live in these jeans despite having gained a lot of weight since I bought them, I thought I would have long grown out of them but it seems that isn’t so, hurrah! Although at £9 it wouldn’t be a hardship to have replaced them.
I accessorised my outfit with my favourite ever watch by Olivia Burton and a necklace from the gorgeous Sushilla Jewellery, both of whom make the most beautiful pieces of adornment and I always get compliments on both the watch and the necklace every time I wear them.
Where do you shop for your flat shoes? Are there any clothing combinations you thought you’d hate until you wore them?

Sarenza Sunday- Mad for Michael

I’m taking a break from the shoe side of Sarenza this week, not because I’m bored of shoes- there is no danger of that happening any time soon! I just got a bit sidetracked whilst browsing the bag section of the website and discovering the brightest, most beautiful but sadly way out of my price range bag.
I know I’m not the only blogger crushin’ on Michael Kors Selma bag, and this Mandarin coloured one is quite possibly my favourite yet. I’m not one for orange coloured clothes, but for accessories it’s a real winner for me, and with it’s roomy nature and sharp looking finish this is the perfect bag to take anywhere from the office to the shops!
Which bag would you most like to own right now?

Magpie Eye- South Hill Designs

It’s been a while since I featured an independent jewellery designer on the blog, so it’s with great pleasure I bring to you today’s post featuring a new concept in jewellery from South Hill Designs. Run by the super talented Stephanie, her designs involve putting together locket and charm pieces to create something truly unique.
I thought I’d let Stephanie do most of the talking in this post, as nobody can sum up South Hill Designs better than the lady herself, so without further ado…
“I had previously seen this locket and charm jewellery concept in America and was very frustrated to find there was nothing similar available in the UK. When I heard South Hill Designs was planning to launch in the UK I was delighted that I would finally be able to get this jewellery and jumped at the chance to be one of the first UK artists.
I am very exciting to be able to share South Hill Designs products with the UK market and they are already proving to be very popular.
All the jewellery is nickel free and the fabulous thing about the South Hill Designs jewellery is that it can be different every time you wear it! The lockets close with a magnet close so they are easy to open and change charms but at the same time they are strong magnets so charms won’t fall out while you are wearing them!
All lockets come with a standard chain included but we also have a further range of chains available. Droplets are popular to hang on the outside of the lockets and inside there are screens, coins and charms to accessorise and personalise your locket. We also have a locket bracelet and some bracelet wraps.
I would encourage anyone interested in either the jewellery or the South Hill opportunity to check out my website at www.southhilldesigns.com/stephanieb and get in touch with me on stephanieSHD@outlook.com to find out more!”
So there we have it- I’m seriously in love with this idea and will hopefully be in a position to treat myself to a piece in the not too distant future. I’m thinking a Rose Gold locket with some kind of inspirational message- “dream” perhaps, and a cute little charm to finish. What would you pick? What do you think of the idea?

Sharing the Luck giveaway

Recently I was lucky enough to win a Facebook giveaway that Liz Earle were running and the prize was two bottles of the Botanical Shine Nourishing Hair Oil which I am absolutely loving. It’s going to last me a life time though, as you only need the teeny tiniest bit each time, so being the good natured person that I am, I thought I’d give the other bottle away to one of you guys!
Seriously, my hair loves this stuff. I used to be so hesitant to add oil to my hair incase it made it feel dirty or greasy, but since I started using this a couple of weeks ago I have noticed such an improvement in the condition of my hair!
If you fancy your chances at winning a bottle then just follow the simple instructions below.

Favourites

This set of photos is from way back on Easter Monday, which feels like a life time ago now. It was a family affair that day, being the two year anniversary of my Nan’s death we took advantage of the gorgeous weather and paid a trip to the local seafront, a place where many a Summer day was spent when I was growing up and it remains a place I love to visit for the happy memories it evokes.
Top: New Look | Dress: Primark | Boots: c/o Missguided
This outfit compromises of some of my favourite pieces right now. I have serious seperation anxiety when it comes to this Primark dress, I can’t stop wearing it and for a fiver I wish I had bought a couple after spending so long searching for the perfect one. That’s exactly what I did with this top which comes in dozens of colours- I already own it in baby blue, cream and black and will most likely add in a few brights by the end of the Summer. It’s perfect for layering and is the perfect length & smart enough for work.
I’m also living in these pink cut out boots out of work at the moment. They are so seriously comfortable, it’ll take a tropical heat wave to prise me out of these.
I’m over half way through my week off work, I almost cancelled it when I went back from sick leave but actually, I’m glad I didn’t. It’s tradition for me to take the week of my birthday as holiday and it’s been a lovely chance to catch up with people and do things I couldn’t do post-op…not to mention a chance to re-charge my batteries. With no more leave planned for the forseeable, and no holiday to look forward to I’ve been making the best of this week and I’m determined to make it through to the Autumn without booking any more leave (and well in to the next decade before I have any more sick leave!)
What do you like to do with a week off work? What are you living in right now?
