Cat Lady Gone Wild

So quite a lot of my blog posts, tweets, facebook updates and instagram snaps feature cats. It seems I just can’t get enough of those cute little fluff balls and a lot of my recent purchases have had a feline theme. Despite that, this outfit was quite unintentional…it just so happened that I ended up wandering around last weekend looking like the proverbial “Crazy Cat Lady”.

Tee: Pull&Bear | Jeans: Oasis | Vans: ASOS

I was so excited when Pull&Bear opened up in Cabot Circus as I fell in love with their clothes when I was in Spain both years. The prices aren’t as cheap as when you’re abroad but still really very reasonable and the quality is fabulous. This cat print tee was a little gift from Mum and cost £7.99…we saw it when we were shopping a couple of weeks ago and she apparently couldn’t resist.
The ASPCA cat Vans have featured before on the blog in many forms but not on me. These were a birthday present and dear lord I love them. It was probably overkill to pair them with the t-shirt but the jeans kind of break it up. I’ve just discovered there is a hat, too which despite not being my style at all, I want! Oh, and the backpack! The shoes are out of stock in a lot of places but the VANS website, ASOS and Sarenza have all had them in latelyq
I’ve been slacking on getting photos taken recently, I really need to get over my “oh my god I feel so chubby” phase and get on with dressing nice and keeping the outfit posts coming, right? I mean, my style isn’t ground breaking or indeed anything special, but it’s fine to try new things and get feedback from fellow minded people.
TGIF, that’s all I’m saying! Also saying I don’t know why the pics came out blurred, blaming the weather.

Meet Marie Belle

Oh I do love a new shop launch, I appear to spend half my free time window browsing online so having something fresh to look at is always an exciting moment. This week I’m introducing new kind on the block Marie Belle who only went live last week! Stocking a whole host of gorgeous accessories at fantastic prices, they are currently constantly updating their stock so there is always something new to look at and lust after.
Above are just a few of my favourite pieces available on the website right now, from the gorgeous Daisy pink trim bag, £19.99 (clearly I’d be attracted to it given the name!) to the Lucy earrings in Periwinkle, £5, there is something for all tastes and all budgets. Right now my eye is on the Victoria necklace in Pink as well as most of the current stock of bags!
Marie Belle are kindly offering my readers 10% off your purchases with no minimum spend, valid until the 31st of May, what further excuse do you need to get browsing? Just use the code MBDAISYCHAIN10 at the checkout.
Have you found any new online shopping haunts lately? Share the love in the comments.

Happy Birthday to Crew!

So we all know that turning 21 is a big deal right? My 21st feels like a lifetime ago now, the last six years have bought about so much change in my life that I feel like an entirely different person. I wouldn’t change it for the world though, and now it’s time to celebrate another 21st Birthday; Crew Clothing turn the big 2-1 this month!
To help spread the word about the occasion Crew selected 21 bloggers to style up a piece of their clothing, one every day for the first 21 days of May. I was one of those chosen bloggers and my look is below.
This nautical look beauty of a maxi dress was my item from Crew and I just love it. It’s the most beautiful quality fabric with a good weight to it so the drape is perfect. I love the detailing in the straps too, and it’s a brilliant fit. I kept things simple, I wanted to let the dress make the real statement but I couldn’t resist the lure of my gold glittery sandals from Sarenza and a gold bangle by Jamie London as I think a nautical style piece lends itself to gold accessories wonderfully.
The pictures don’t really do the dress justice if I’m honest and I hope I haven’t let Crew down! This is the second set that we got of the dress and I just don’t know how I feel about seeing myself wearing it at the moment. That being said, I did feel good whilst wearing the dress, it’s just seeing the final result I’m having an issue with it would seem.
It’s been a crazy week and a bit and hopefully life is going to start to calm down. I feel a bit like I have a 21st Birthday Party worthy hangover and haven’t been near any alcohol lately…oh to be young again!
Huge thank you to Crew for choosing me to participate in this, and a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! How did you celebrate your 21st/plan to celebrate? And yes, that is a new tattoo you spy.

Play Time with Long Tall Sally

Just recently I’ve become enamoured with the idea of owning jumpsuits and playsuits. This isn’t something that had ever previously appealed, partly I believe due to my height. Having tried numerous ones on from various shops on the high street I resigned myself to the fact that it wasn’t going to work; playsuits that cut you in half are not a good look, and neither is a jumpsuit that gives you camel toe.
I did recently manage to buy my first ever jumpsuit, from New Look and I got round the problem by going up a size, which works for the style I got but isn’t the ideal solution- nor great for one’s ego. Around the same time I also received an e-mail with Long Tall Sally’s new look book attached and I was delighted to see that they have several gorgeous jump suits and dungarees (my other current craving) in store right now.
From L-R
Price wise, these aren’t the cheapest pieces out there, but I’ve had clothes from Long Tall Sally before and you get what you pay for- that and there will be no indecency and the comfort of something fitting you properly. Long Tall Sally is designed for Women 5’8” and over and also caters for shoe sizes 7-11. As well as stocking it’s own brand you’ll find clothes from Ruby Rocks and shoes from the likes of French Sole and Converse. Brilliant!
I’m seriously needing those dungarees in my life, and the floral jumpsuit too…I need to put myself on a window shopping ban! Which one would you pick?

Crazy for Daisy

Despite the name of my blog and my many online handles, my name isn’t actually Daisy. Not that you’d know it- my Granddad and some other friends/family members rarely call me by my real name (Laura) any more and it can get a bit confusing from time to time- not least for me, who has to remember what I’m supposed to be answering to at any given moment!
I think because of this I do have a bit of an affection, or obsession with anything and everything Daisy related; this season has been heaven as there are so many Daisy themed bits and bobs on the high street and it went without saying that when I saw this jumper on the Topshop website I would find a way to make it mine. A shopping trip with Mum the weekend before last, when I had some birthday money to spend on myself was the perfect excuse and I’ve worn it with everything and anything ever since! A lot of the time I tend to skip Topshop, it’s mostly out of my budget and a lot of what they come out with is too short or doesn’t fit my frame very well, but there are exceptions and this was most certainly one of them.

Jumper: Topshop | Skirt: Primark | Boots: Miista @ Sarenza

You can see how I really have embraced the trend for all things pastel right now, perhaps a tad overly so? I couldn’t resist this chiffon skirt in Primark, a mere £10 and so girly and floaty and the most beautiful shade of blue. I couldn’t find any clean nude tights among my collection so opted for some shimmery pale pink ones instead and then finished the look with my very colour co-ordinated Miista boots which I love so much. It’s a shame I don’t get to wear them more really, the satin nature of them makes them not that practical for the British weather!
I’ve done rather a lot of shopping lately, thanks to my Birthday money so there will probably be several new things on the blog in up-coming posts. I’m totally loving the high street at the moment, I’m super happy with all my purchases (rare for me, queen of buyers remorse!) and could easily have spent a LOT more money if I’d had it available to spend!
Any one else feeling the high street love right now? I’m especially loving European brands like Zara and Pull & Bear for lots of clean cut, pastel goodness.
