Uptown Girl from Guess Jewellery

I think I’ve covered every release from Guess Jewellery over the last twelve months. I’ve never been quite so obsessed with a single brand before. Their Spring/Summer collection doesn’t let the side down, named Uptown Girl it’s full of covetable pieces featuring beautifully bright enamel details.
For this collection the classic Guess monogram has been given a creative twist. Each colour-way has been carefully paired with a complementing metal, think rhodium plating with turquoise accents for seaside coolness and rose gold teamed with soft white and beige for an elegant take.
As you might guess (sorry!) I wouldn’t say no to any of the collection buy my heart is well and truly set on one of the statement rings- I think the yellow gold with bright coral hues would be the perfect accessory to my Spring wardrobe.
Available from March prices range from £30 for the earrings up t0 £105 for the bangles. Available online or in retailers of Guess Jewellery- House of Fraser being the first that springs to mind.
Which piece and colour combination would you most like to welcome in Spring with?

Kicking the Habit

Smoking isn’t big or clever, we’ve all seen the warnings in the press or on the posters displayed pretty much everywhere these days. Despite knowing all the risks and wanting to be a non-smoker I’ve still failed to kick the habit. For me it has always been a way of escaping. When things get chaotic in my mind or I’ve been in a really stressful situation being able to take five minutes away from it has been invaluable. It also, ironically gets my breathing back in to a better pattern if I’ve been slightly hyper-ventilating.
These days I’m much better able to cope with these situations and my desire to smoke has been far less. Coupled with the fact I am getting back in to exercise the time really has come to make that push and get my already cut down cigarette consumption to zero. I was recently sent an e-cigarette from Intellicig and it’s been a great help. I know it’s swapping one thing for another really, but at least I’m cutting down on the toxins in a real cigarette and will only have the nicotine withdrawal to contend with.
Now I’m not advocating e-cigarettes as a healthy alternative to cigarettes, I do want to make that clear. I’d far rather I was able to do with through sheer willpower or use something like patches but fact is, for me they haven’t worked in the past and I don’t think they’ll work now.
Over the coming weeks I plan to use to e-cig more and real cigarettes much, much less. I shall post updates from time to time- I want to keep myself accountable and maybe be able to share/get advice from fellow quitters. Along with the intellicig I’ll be utilising the NHS Smokefree website and apps and trying to keep my nicotine consumption in general minimal.
I feel like this time I really want to be smokefree, perhaps in the past I haven’t and that is why I’ve failed. Time will tell and for now I just ask for some crossed fingers and any advice you may have.

Insta Feburary

This is probably one of my most boring Instagram posts yet- Feburary has been a month of post-op recovery, I haven’t been out much at all (you know, even less than usual!)
Hover over the pics to see what’s going on! Hello major kitty spam, for once Mae is actually acting like she is my cat and has barely left my side.
I hope your Feburary was wonderful, link me up to your insta-posts.

Four Eyes

I’ve gone from resenting the fact I need to wear glasses for certain things to actually really enjoying it. I’ve been really lucky over the last year or so to build up quite a striking collection and I am totally loving my latest addition from GlassesNow and their fabulous collection of frames under £50.
Dress: Vintage | Boots: Jeffrey Campbell c/o Sarenza | Glasses: c/o GlassesNow
The frames are a bolder style than I have gone for previously but I like it. I put in my order one day (with my prescription details) and it was here the next. GlassesNow is the most apt name ever, perfect for my impatient self!
The dress and boots are both favourites of mine, I bought the dress from blogger pal Terri Lowe and she won’t let me forget she regrets selling it now! The boots were via Sarenza and my first ever pair of JC shoes- it was the start of a long time love affair.
Do you have a favoured glasses frame style? I will try anything but do seem to sway toward the colour purple.
