Jumper: George at Asda
Jeans: Next via Mum’s Wardrobe
Vans: via Sarenza
The second I saw this jumper* on the lovely Char’s blog I knew I’d own it at some point, I can’t resist anything with an animal print on it and it seemed very fitting for the Easter season. I wore this for the most pefectly chilled out Bank Holiday Monday although I changed the Vans for fur lined boots at the last minute as it’s still SO cold out despite the sunshine.
Today is my super, super busy day with my 7:15am start at my usual workplace plus an extra clinic at another surgery this afternoon. Bad planning on my part as I’ve left myself with about ten minutes to get changed and eat lunch between the two by the time I’ve got home and I’m already exhausted and a bit under the weather. I’ll cope though, I’m happy and smiley and that makes all the difference!
How’s your week going so far? I could get used to a four day working week faaaar too easily!

Dress: Lavish Alice
Tee: Peacocks
Shoes: New Look
Cat: one off
I can barely string a sentence together right now but this is what I wore for Easter Sunday. The shoes are a recent (as in Saturday) purchase, justified because they are ideal for work- but who really needs an excuse to buy new shoes?
This weekend has turned out to be the best ever and I can’t stop grinning. Even the busy week ahead can’t daunt me right now. Bring it on life, bring.it.on.

flash of light

Jumper: George at Asda
Skirt: Glamorous
Boots c/o Shoe Zone
I am a little bit in love with this neon pink skater skirt from Glamourous, better yet that it only cost £5. It’s not one for the faint hearted, I wore it in to town on Saturday and it attracted a lot of attention but it makes me happy so I didn’t really mind!
I’m also really enjoying these studded boots sent via Shoe Zone, another bargain at only £12.99. To be honest I’ve never really looked there for shoes before but after being invited to have a peek at their website I was pretty impressed at some of the offerings and of course the amazing prices. These will happily replace my long worn out studded biker boots and I’ll be wearing them until it gets too warm to do so (that’ll be a while then!)
Did everyone have a good Easter? It was so nice to have the sun shining in the South West. My brother is home for a few days so we had a family roast lunch with the addition of my Grandad and Uncle and then I got to spend time with Ellie, getting way over-excited for our August holiday. Is there a fast forward button for time?
Today will be all about the chilling out before going back to work tomorrow, I have a hectic couple of days ahead (um, 7:15am-5pm day on Wednesday anyone? I was mad enough to think this was a good idea!) but I’m so, so happy at the moment that life can throw pretty much what it wants at me in terms of stress and I’ll just shrug it off.
What are you up to on this Bank Holiday Monday? I can’t believe we’re now in April, a bittersweet month but it’ll be what it is and we’ll all just make the best of that.

Converse- the history behind the shoe

I can’t think of anyone who hasn’t heard of Converse, I bet most people own a pair or have owned a pair in the past. They are the type of shoe that carries memories, worn on adventures and improving with age. I have quite the attatchment to my pair to the point that even though they really have seen better days I can’t bring myself to part with them or replace them with a newer pair.
The brand has history, Converse was born in 1908 from the brain of a man called Marquis Mills Converse. He vowed it would be a company that would be independent enough not to follow every other company out there in what they did. It worked. Over 100 years on and Converse have survived where other brands have failed.
Over the years that followed Converse took on many different forms and purposes. From the arrival of Chuck Taylor on the scene to designing apparel for service men during World War II.
During the era of Rock n Roll the hi-top shoe that we wear and love today really took off, teamed with blue jeans and leather you can see some trends don’t fade with time.
In the years following this Converse took on many different forms. Colour was introduced- we can now own the shoe in any colour and any pattern the heart desires (I myself covet a glittery pair).
This is a story that has no ending. The brand continues to grow and I can’t even beging to imagine what the next century will bring. I’ll leave you with this video as an ending to my ramblings. I hope you enjoyed this post though, it was good to write something a little bit different.
What’s your Converse story? I’d love to hear all about them.

sarenza shoe of the week: pearly queen

I first saw these Kat Maconie shoes on Sarenza’s pintrest page in the week and I quite literally fell head over heels in love with them. At £230 it does seem like my taste has become somewhat extravagent over the last few weeks (last week’s hi-top love for example) but how can you not adore these shoes?
They come in both grey leather and nude leather and I love that the neutral shades make these a really versatile shoe and therefore goes someway to justify a cheeky purchase (in my dreams, if I had the money I would though!)
Happy Easter folks,
I hope it’s a wonderfully chocolate filled day for all
