Dreaming of a Dower & Hall Christmas

I’ve only really known about jewellery brand Dower & Hall for a mere six months or so but in that time they’ve impressed me hugely. I was lucky enough to win a beautiful bracelet in a Twitter giveaway and since then I have religiously stalked the website drooling over new arrivals.
Of course, with Christmas just around the corner it’s only right I share some favourite pieces in a wishlist/gift guide combined, right?
Initial necklace from the Luscious Letters collection- £120. All 26 letters of  the alphabet are available in various lengths and in gold and silver as well as the rose gold.

18ct Gold Vermeil Amethyst Ring £105

18ct Gold Vermeil Lemon Quartz Nugget Bracelet – £78

Mixed Jewel Twinkle Stack £190- along with the initial necklace this is one of my top pieces.

Rose Gold Vermeil & Labradorite Bead Charm Bracelet – £95

Sévérine Yellow Gold & White Topaz Cut Out Star Drops, £98

Sévérine Yellow Gold Vermeil & White Topaz bracelet, £65
I’m always amazed at the prices of Dower & Hall jewellery, each piece looks like it costs a lot more than it does- and yes I know it’s not exactly every day affordable but for such high quality craftsmanship I think you’re getting a bargain.
Which is your favourite piece?

Shoes as Sweet as Candy

Sorry for the overload of blog posts lately. There aren’t going to be any outfit posts for a while thanks to a  dodgy back (and a Friday night in A&E) and I just keep finding content I want to share.
The second I saw these shoes on the Selfridges website I couldn’t wait to blog about them.
Charlotte Olympia may be most coveted for her infamous kitty flats but I think these surpass those- for me at least.

The Heels will set you back £695 whilst the Flats are a bit cheaper at £425.
Liquorice Allsorts are my favourite sweets and I am wondering if I can DIY a pair for the cost of some plain black ballet pumps and a bag or two of the sweet stuff.
What are you thoughts?
I’ll forever be a cat lady, but for me these would win hands down if I had to choose between the two. How about you?

Hair Heroes

So, my hair is in a bit of a state right now. It hasn’t had a cut and colour for ages and I’m at my wits end. I’d been putting off because an iron deficiency led to a lot falling out but that’s sorted now and I need to get my act together!
In the mean time I’ve been pampering my hair with some amazing products from Kerastase that I was kindly sent some time ago now. Out of the box of goodies I couldn’t find a product I didn’t like so I’ll give you my brief thoughts on each of them…
Spray a Porter is similar to a sea salt spray I’ve used in the past. It gives a lovely tousled effect without leaving residue. I found it worked best as a booster on “second day” hair when my waves were flagging.
Boucles d’art is a strong hold aqua mousse that gave my waves amazing definition without leaving them stiff and crunchy in a way that some mousses do. Definite re-purchase when this runs out!
Mousse Bouffante is a traditional mousse which when teamed with the Boucles d’art gave amazing volume to my hair and made it look fuller despite so much having fallen out.
Touche Finale is the one product I haven’t used much as it’s a finishing serum which doesn’t really agree with my wavy hair. If I’m wearing my hair tied back I do run a bit of this through it when damp to get a smooth and shiny finish though and it doesn’t leave my hair greasy.
Laque Couture is my favourite hairspray ever. It’s pricey but so worth it for the hold and finish it gives. Wow.
Gloss Appeal does exactly what it says on the bottle, giving an amazing non-greasy glossy finish to my hair which is otherwise prone to looking quite dull and..well, dead. Love.
So, those are my thoughts. I know Kerastase isn’t an every day affordable product but there are a couple of real heros here that will be on my shopping list when they run out.
If you’ve used their products which ones would you recommend?
And what on earth should I get done to my hair.
I’m going to book in as soon as my back is better and I can sit for more than five minutes and I am open to suggestions!

a twist on monochrome

Osiris frames on loan from Specsavers
Jumper and Leggings from New Look
Boots c/o Shoe Zone
Necklace c/o Kittenish Behaviour
As a glasses wearer I like to experiment within reason with the frames I wear. My current pair are bold purple and when Specsavers sent out an e-mail featuring these white frames I was incredibly intrigued. They may not be solid white, but still I had never seen frames this colour before and I kind of loved them and wondered how they’d work. I was kindly loaned a pair to have a play around with and the result is that I’m smitten and wish they were mine to keep!
I paired them with a fairly monochrome outfit to show the contrast at it’s best. For a while this was a go to weekend outfit but now I’m having second thoughts. Call it a crisis of confidence but I’m suddenly not sure it works.
But focusing on the frames, what do you think? I’m thinking it’s love, even if they are a tad oversized for my face…that only adds to the appeal.
