Ikrushing on affordable party wear.

So Christmas Party fever has hit me hard and I’ve been tweeting links to dresses I love like a madwoman. I’ve decided to put those tweets to good use and start a series of posts on affordable (very important factor for me) party wear and I’m kicking off with the web-store ikrush who I’ve only recently discovered and have been incredibly impressed with.
Black and gold is such a classic party combination and these cost a mere £14.49. Hello bargain versatile chicness.

This floaty little number is the perfect base for loading on the accessories and at £10.99 you can afford to go a bit wild on the bling.

How sexy is this sheer panel lace dress? I’m not sure I’d be brave enough to rock it but I know a few of you lovely lot who’d look AMAZING in it. £20.99

The obsession with Rose Gold continues and I adore this sparkly little number- would it suit my complexion? Probably not, but at £26.49 I’d be tempted!

£6.99 for these glamorous sparklers? If I wear the dress I wanted to wear but don’t feel right in then I am totally getting these.

Likewise if I wear last years dress then I will probably end up making a non-needed but much wanted shoe purchase. I won’t feel too guilty when they cost £14.49

This is the dress I am truly coveting. The same as the Rose Gold one I just adore this festive red. It’s £26.49 and I’m not sure I can justify it when I have a perfectly good dress, but it would cover up my arms!

This festive red velvet skater dress would be perfect for day time parties. It’s an absolute steal at £10.49…maybe I’ll treat myself to this just because I can!

What do you think of my choices? Not a fan but still want a bargain then there is plenty more to look at on the ikrush website
Have you bought from them before anyone? Let me know if you place an order!

Babycham Shoes- with an oh so gorgeous giveaway!

I cannot even begin to explain how gutted I am to not be able to do an outfit post wearing these shoes c/o Babycham footwear. Aren’t they beautiful? I haven’t even been able to try them on yet which breaks my heart but as soon as my back allows then I will wear them non-stop, even to the most impractical of places.
I hadn’t paid Babycham’s footwear range a great deal of attention since I last owned a pair (which were trainers) when I was in sixth form. Recently I saw tweets of their AW press day and realised how much they had changed their image and upped their game. A few days later they got in touch with me asking if I’d like to pick a pair and excitingly give one of my readers the chance to own a pair too!
Entering is pretty simple.

What’s up pussy cat?

Jumper: ASOS
Skirt: Primark
Tights: Primark
Boots c/o Shoe Zone
Yeah yeah, another cat themed item of clothing…I hadn’t realised my collection was quite so vast, oops! This jumper came from ASOS last year and I had somehow forgotten I owned it. As soon as I re-discovered it I decided it needed to be worn so I popped it on with this Primark skirt which I picked up for a mere £3 a couple of weeks ago. I think it was reduced because the sizing is stupidly small, I had to go up one from my usual size and it’s not because I’ve gained almost a stone as everything else still fits!
Whatever, size is but a number and nobody really cares. I love the skirt and plan to wear it lots. I’ve also found that Primark make the best black tights…£3 for three pairs and they seem to be Laura proof in that I haven’t yet made any holes in the toes!
I’m totally in love with my new boots from Shoe Zone. Their A/W collection has some incredible value on trend styles and it was these with their gold detailing that called out to me most. Their arrival last week could not have been better timed as my sciatica got worse big time and I’ve been unable to wear anything but the flattest of flats on the few occasions I was able to leave the house. Fingers crossed it’s on the mend now. It’s been five very long and painful weeks, I have lost count of the number of times I got stuck in bed, on chairs and other various places last week and I actually cried from pain for the first time in my life.
I digress.
Shoe Zone used to be somewhere I never shopped in. Now they are one of the first places I look when I want affordable shoes and boots. They last well too, I’m still wearing a pair from last year that I’ve truly put through their paces. Value and quality, that’s what I like!
Bonus shot of Mae who will go out of her cat flap but refuses to use it to come in again. She is being so naughty lately, any taming ideas?

a little bit of winter warmth

Sorry I look a bit rough, I’m on strong pain relief for whatever is going on with my back and it’s wiping me out!

I’ve gone from not owning/wearing a hat in years to suddenly having quite the collection of them and wearing them as soon as the weather turns chilly.
And now the weather has turned extra chilly and so the arrival of this Stone Union bobble hat from soon to officially launch web store Brit Fash could not have been better timed. It’s probably the most warm and sensible hat I own (I tend to head straight for the novelty section and own one with ears, one that looks like a penguin and a faux fur trapper to name but a few) and so comfortable too. I think the last time I wore a bobble hat I was about eight but I’m ready to rock this one all winter through.

As the name would suggest, Brit Fash is the online destination for both established and emerging British designers. This really makes me happy as I’m thinking more and more about where the things I buy are produced and I think I’ll be a pretty frequent customer of the site. I’ve already got my eye on some Christmas Jumpers and this tartan number too.

What are your views on bobble hats? And what do you think of Brit Fash in general? I’m a fan already!

Sarenza Sunday- spaced out silver

I can’t really explain what has made me so attracted to these brogues by Shellys London, there is something quite alluring about them and they make me think of a sort of space age style too with their holographic silver colour.
Not only would these be fantastic for day, with just about anything and everything I think they would be a great alternative for heels on a night out with a black prom dress or ankle length suit trousers and a blazer.
Maybe it’s the pain meds talking (thanks sciatica, again) or maybe I really do have questionable taste but I’m in love and I refuse to be ashamed of it.
Also, I think it’s only fair to mention that Sarenza have some pretty fantastic offers on right now with a mid-season sale…don’t blame me if you go broke. I’m trying my hardest to resist adding to my already overflowing collection of shoes!
