check, mate.

ASOS jumper
NewLook trousers
Kate Kanzier loafers
The is one of those outfits what worked out better in my head than it did in reality. Shortly after seeing these photos I changed back in to jeans, which wasn’t much better but live and learn, this jumper makes me happy and right now I’ll take all the happy I can get.
A huge, massive, super duper thank you for everyone who was there for me yesterday during my “bad day”. I think every so often people need a good breakdown to clear out the system and appreciate what they have and yesterday was my day.
I’m not sure what else I can add to this post, it’s one of those that had potential but kind of fizzled out in to nothing, but I’m posting it regardless because I have nothing else in reserve. I’m spending so much time focusing on the negatives at the moment- of outfits, of my body, of the world around me that it’s dragging me down. This needs to change. I can’t keep blaming “winter blues” forever. It’s time to stop looking out the flaws and seek out the good instead.

I’m off to see Les Mis (finally) with my Mum tonight, perhaps not the cheeriest of films to go and see but I’m really looking forward to it despite hearing mixed reviews, who’s seen it? What did you think?

It’s PANCAKE day! Who’s participating?

P.S. I really am sorry for being so miserable. I promise normal service will resume, probably by later today, I can feel the fog lifting.

P.P.S. Congratulations to Clemmy, winner of my little giveaway!

B-eat Eating Disorder Awareness Week 2013

We all know someone, be it a friend, family or yourself. Spread the word. No more silence. For more on Eating Disorder Awareness week and what you can do spread the word and raise funds visit the B-eat Website.

As for me, I know far too many “somebodys”. Myself, some of my best friends…this will always be a cause close to my heart and I just wanted to spread the word a little. xxx

Top and Faux Fur Vest: New Look
Jeans: Oasis
Boots: Jeffrey Campbell c/o Sarenza
A massive wardrobe clear out last weekend prompted the rediscovery of this faux fur vest and these orange boots. I wonder now why they were hidden away for so long; both are much loved pieces that deserve to be worn far more, especially these boots, they might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I adore them and they are SO comfortable.
I’m not going to lie or sugarcoat anything in this post, I’m struggling a bit in how I look in these jeans now compared to say, August when I was significantly underweight. I’ve worked hard to get to the place I am now and it frustrates me no end that I can’t accept a healthier looking body when all round I feel amazing and I’m so much happier, more confident in myself and finally living life. I hope that my continued blogging will help me accept what I have, I am not going through the hell that is relapse and the inevitable weight gain again. I’m too tired of anorexia, of life being governed by numbers and routine, I am having too much fun to repeat that wretched cycle for the 43827th time.
Anyway, onwards and upwards to brighter things. It’s Monday which means a late start for me (although I’m still wide awake at a stupid hour) and this week brings Pancake day AND Valentines day which although I won’t personally be paying much attention to I know a lot of people are so I hope for those of you who are planning lovely things that it’s a wonderful and happy day.
What are you looking forward to most this week?

Sarenza Sunday- pretty prints

Demy Printed by Fornarina, £124.90

Lucie by Paul and Joe Sister, £43.90

Oddie by Rocket Dog, £45

Welcome to another shoe focused Sunday where I once again tempt you with my favourites from the latest arrivals on Sarenza. This week I’m carrying on with my “Spring IS in the air” theme and lusting after all things printed. I’m not sure you could really call the last pair of shoes printed but how could I not include them? They are going to be mine, come what may. I will own them by Spring, I can even justify it now as I can once again wear heels (much to the dismay of everyone around me as I was already the tallest).

If Daisies aren’t your thing then I hope you’ll love these beautiful Fornarina heels and Paul and Joe sister flats, both perfect for teaming with girly dresses or dressed down denim…I love finding a potentially tricky shoe and  then thinking up ways to wear it, there isn’t a lot these won’t go with if you plan carefully and if I had the budget those heels would be mine (nothing against the flats, I’m just fed up of them for now!)

Are you a print person? Have you seen any other prettily patterned shoes that I should be aware of?

Perfect Pancakes (with a little help from M&S)

Pancake day arrives early this year, it’s in fact on Tuesday meaning all intentions of healthy eating will once again be abandoned. If you want to make the perfect batch to amaze friends and family I highly suggest a trip to your nearest M&S for any essential kit you may be lacking.

Stainless steel turner, £5 because chucking pancakes towards the ceiling NEVER ends well in my personal experience.

24cm non-stick pan, £6– to help your pancake stay pancake shaped on to the plate. Scrambled heap may taste good but isn’t so visually stunning.

Get the perfect proportions with these cute little measuring cups, £5

I love this traditional large mixing bowl (£19.50). Not cheap but it will last for years and years of pancakes and cake baking.

Measure it out with this retro fabulous 5kg Mechanical Scale (£19.50) So much more satisfying than digital.

Mix it up with this Silicone Whisk, £7.50

No more Jif lemon with this Stainless Steel Juicer, £9.50

A basic pancake batter recipe couldn’t be simpler, to make around 12 traditional pancakes you’ll need:

110g/4oz sifted plain flour
pinch of salt
2 eggs
200ml/7floz milk mixed with 75ml/3floz water
50g/2oz butter.

Give it a good mix up until it’s super smooth and well combined. I’ve heard that leaving the batter to stand in the fridge overnight/during the day whilst your at work helps create the ultimate pancakes.

If you’re short of time or just a culinary disaster then M&S have the solution for that, too…

Fresh Pancake Batter- £1.99
I’d like to say my pancakes are always made from scratch but sometimes needs must.

For something a little bit different why not try waffles? This Pancake and Waffle mix is £4.49 and is good for all occasions…breakfast in bed anyone?

Will you be frying up a feast on Tuesday? What is your ultimate pancake topping? I’ll go out on a limb here and say I DO NOT LIKE LEMON AND SUGAR!
Cinnamon and sugar however…
(or peanut butter and banana, nutella, sugar and sugar, spiced cooked apple and raisins, vanilla ice cream…)

Not a sponsored post. I do love Pancakes though.
