daisy chain dreaming; dresses at jigsaw

The new year has seen me vow to browse in less obvious places, there is nothing wrong with the high street old faithfuls but the time has come to broaden my sartorial horizons and pursue pastures new. My first wish list of 2013 comes via Jigsaw and their gorgeous array of dresses; they may not be Primark prices but you’ll soon see why I love them so.

I figured I’d start with a show stopper, at £325 this is way out of my budget but I LOVE all things flapper and this dress makes a statement and a half. Swoon.

I don’t think I’ll ever lose my love of florals, even when they cost £99 (in the sale)

I vote sequins are for life, not just for Christmas. I’d love to try wearing this to work!

This lace jersey dress costs £129 but looks like the perfect versatile piece…suitable for work and play it’ll soon earn it’s keep.

I think this might be my absolute favourite. Simple, clean cut and chic- everything I wish I was.

I think I’ll be keeping a closer eye on jigsaw, especially the dresses. I kind of feel like I’ve grown up a lot in the last year and I want my wardrobe to reflect that. Are you finding the same as you get older? Of course there will ALWAYS be space in my life for novelty knits and a rainbow of tights but a few investment pieces here and there wouldn’t hurt.

What are your style resolutions and where will you be browsing this year?

Wow, I can’t remember the last time I dug out this Asda George dress (who happen to have a cracking sale right now), to be honest I had forgotten about it and wasn’t sure it’d fit…plus the fact the length borders on indecent but I love it anyway.
Teamed with tights and boots from New Look I wore this to go shopping with my parents on Sunday; we ventured to the designer outlet at Swindon for a browse and I picked up a couple of gems there at really good prices. I experienced a cosmetics outlet for the first time and nabbed a MAC palette from a collection that somehow passed me by at the time as well as some bargain undies from Calvin Klein. I do find outlets quite hit or miss but this time was a hit for sure.

Did we all survive the first day back in the “real world”? As someone who thrives on routine I found it quite refreshing if I’m honest..work was mad though, but the kind of mad that is actually really good fun when you have enough coffee in your system and good colleagues to work with.

And now we’re almost at the weekend, I wish every week was this short!

back to it

So, that’s it then folks; the festive season is done and dusted and for most of us it is back to the working world today…for me this includes by 7:15am start which makes me die a little inside.

I can’t even remember which day this outfit was from, they all seem to have merged in to one over the break…potentially it was Saturday though, not that it matters. The dress was a sales steal from Zara well over a year ago, the tights and boots are both from New Look.

How was NYE for everyone? I can’t remember the last time I actually felt like celebrating, but in the company of two of my most favourite people with wine, prosecco, smoked venison (posh!), scrabble and err..grapes I had an amazing time welcoming in the new year. 2013 got off to wonderful start too with an epic roast dinner and a chilled out day doing pretty much nothing.

Well, by the time you read this I shall be at work (hurrah for scheduling posts the night before) but I’m wishing you a wonderful day…try not to dread it…it’s a short week to ease us back in if nothing else!
