Morning Light

Jumper: TK Maxx, Skirt c/o Phase Eight, Tights and Boots New Look.

Sorry for the terrible lighting here, although it kind of looks deliberate in a way. I think a new year resolution for me should be to learn to take better photos!

I’m so in love with this jumper, a TK Maxx find back in Autumn. It’s so soft and fluffy and the colour is just perfect; at the time they also had navy and I regret not buying both.
The skirt, sent by the folks at Phase Eight is my new perfect work skirt, the fit and quality is just amazing and I had some many compliments on it’s slight metallic finish. I’ve been wanting to wear it for ages but didn’t have any brown boots I could get my foot in to…New Look came to my rescue though when I popped in last week with my Grandad.

As you can see Mae is becoming a bit of an attention seeker (like me?!) and can’t resist getting in the way. I can’t really imagine home without her now, she’s not Flash but I love her just as much for her quirky ways and batty behaviour.

FINALLY apologies for the vast amount of rubbish that appeared on my twitter yesterday. I am so humbled by the replies I got, but I promise not to get so carried away next time 😉
Onwards and upwards.

Happy Tuesday; I hope your week is going well, it’s so nice to not be in work. I’m off for lunch with my favourite people today and then an attempt at a shopping centre on crutches- not sure whether to wish ME luck or the people around me.

Festive foodie gifts from Sous Chef

Everybody knows at least one foodie and finding a gift for them can be a bit of a nightmare; for those not already aware, Sous Chef is a one stop shop for sourcing hard to find ingredients and quirky gifts that you won’t find stagnating on supermarket shelves.
This Christmas they have an impressive array of presents for all, ranging from stocking fillers under a fiver to hampers with a twist…

Japanese Ramen Bowl Set

The Sous Chef Classic Hamper

Sushi Starter Kit Box

I got in touch with the lovely people at Sous Chef to see what they would recommend asking Santa for this year (or what to buy for the culinary genius in your life)…

Jerusalem Ingredient kit, £39.50: A really thoughtful present for keen cooks – not only because it contains a hardback copy of Ottolenghi’s latest book, but because the kit also contains seven carefully-chosen ingredients which means that they can start cooking straight away without having to trawl around specialist shops to buy all the hard-to-find ingredients featured in the recipes. http://www.souschef.co.uk/cookbook-ingredients-jerusalem-727.html
Rose-infused truffle kit, £15: The kit contains enough to make 60 rose-infused chocolates. All you need is some sugar and cream to create beautiful presents of after dinner treats any chocolatier would be proud of.

Fruit Vinegar Selection, £40: The best way to introduce new flavours into salad dressings is through exciting vinegars. Or if you’re not the salad type, these rich fruity flavours are also delicious drizzled over vanilla ice cream and meringues! A little of these Huilerie Beaujolaise vinegars (used by Raymond Blanc and Alain Ducasse), goes a long way, so there’s plenty to keep you going well into 2013. http://www.souschef.co.uk/fruit-vinegar-selection.html
Deluxe Sushi Kit, £25: Already aware of Christmas excesses? Sushi is a great way to detox while avoiding torturous and boring diets. Teach yourself the art of sushi-making and enjoy a healthy January with this deluxe kit.http://www.souschef.co.uk/sushi-starter-kit-714.html
Japanese Ramen Bowl Set, £34: Make the most of winter nights in by boiling up a big broth and treating yourself to a bowl of ramen. The kit contains two bowls and ladles, as well as four packs of these hard-to-find noodles which really make the dish something a bit special.

The Sous Chef Classic Hamper, £48: There’s little point buying Christmas puddings and jams for the kind of people who made their own Christmas pudding months ago, and whose larder is already packed with homemade jams.  This hamper contains ingredients – perfect for adventurous cooks who appreciate new and exciting ingredients.

Anyone keen in the kitchen should be heading to the website right now. I’d love to hear if you’ve shopped with them before and what you think of the gift ideas.

Big thank you to the lovely Jessica for providing the information and images for the guide, too.

Sarenza Shoe of the Week

Meet this week’s object of desire from Sarenza; the Jennell by Guess shoe boot; a luxury love at £192, but the sleek and studded design has me weak at the knees. It might be just as well I’m not up to heels yet as I’m dangerously close to purchasing these babies…I’d never really considered Guess as a brand for shoes up until a few months ago but they make some absolutle beauties.

Take a look at Sarenza for yourself, what would your shoe of the week be?

Have sparkly Christmas with Astley Clarke

Modern Love Bracelet with Amethyst, £125

Shine Stud Earrings, £75

Lucky Cat Friendship Bracelet, £145

Small Bunny Love Ring by Hillier, £395

Wild Rose Cosmos Bolsena Bracelet, £150

Aided and abetted by the gorgeous Polly my magpie tendencies have gone in to over-drive lately and I’ve found myself spending a frankly insane amount of time browsing the Astley Clarke website. If and when I win the lottery I will be treating myself to this little lot…well, a girl can dream right?! I’ve earmarked the cat bracelet as a little treat for myself when I reach my target weight; health and well being are the main rewards but a little self bribery doesn’t go amiss…
I’m also crazy for the Bolsena bracelets, especially the wild rose one; pastel arm candy perfection.

Take a little peek at Astley Clarke for yourself and let me know what you’re coveting (but don’t blame me if you get hooked too…)
