Hair How-To with John Frieda

All I’m missing is some skill. I need a personal hairdresser, it’s a sad fact of life.

wedged in

Spy Love Buy kindly sent me these wedge heel trainers after I proclaimed my love for them on a wishlist post a couple of weeks ago. When I first saw the trend for heeled trainers I hated it but after seeing more and more people wearing it, and wearing it well I started to covet a pair for myself. The wedge on this pair is subtle; from the outside you can’t really see it, and I doubt whether many people would notice it is there. I like that- you get the added height without standing out too much, and importantly (I can tell I’m getting old) the shoes themselves are really comfortable…tried and tested with a seafront walk.

I wore these for the first time on Sunday with my trust (and cheap) Zara denim skirt and a top from New Look. The fact these are trainers with heels makes me want to push the boundaries a little more and experiment with how I wear them…this is probably the closest I will get to the sports luxe trend that seems to be taking over.

Have you worn the wedge? How would you style them? Give me ideas people…I’m so out of inspiration lately.

Daisy Chain Dreaming: High Summer from Brat & Suzie

Rumour has it that it’s summer out there, although looking out of the window the weather doesn’t seem to have twigged that it’s July not January. Still, these fabulous vests from blog favourite Brat & Suzie’s High Summer collection add a touch of sunshine and just beg to be teamed with leather sandals and faded denim cut-offs.

Priced at £30 each, the Toucan is my favourite, what about you?

by the sea

Dress c/o Jolie Moi, Ombre Cardigan, £12 from Primark, Lilac tights, gift (but via Amazon), Toms, £40 from ASOS.

This dress with it’s little sail boat design seemed to be the perfect choice to wear for Saturday’s seaside adventure. I teamed it with this ombre cardigan that I grabbed in Primark a month or so ago and then forgot all about. I never think of Primark for knitwear, if this is anything to go by then I shall be heading back soon.

I’ve hunted high and low for lilac tights and it was my Mum who found, and subsequently purchased these for me. She found them on Amazon for a reasonable price (I can find the seller if you wish) and they are impressive quality! As for the Toms, well, I’ve gone from owning no pairs, to three in the space of five weeks…they are just TOOO comfortable. I do need to reign it in though. My shoe situation is beyond crisis point (where my once famed tights one is sadly dying).

These photos from Saturday sum up the day perfectly. Especally the last one. It STILL, almost three months on doesn’t feel real.

every cloud has a pink lining

Another day and another fantastic discovery through the world of blogging…

Pink lining started off in fashion bags but when the designer had her first child she moved into changing bags. Our changing bags are sold in Harrods, 27 John Lewis retail outlets nationwide, Fenwicks, Bentalls and many independent boutiques around the country.  We also have a presence internationally with stockists such as Harvey Nichols, Riyadh.
Now the designer is launching her debut luggage collection which is available from www.pinklining.co.uk from early June 2012.
Company bio:
Pink Lining London was established in 2001 by husband and wife team; Charlotte and Rufus Pearl. Pink Lining is  the international family lifestyle label, that aims to put the smile and design into practicality by making the usually mundane covetable.
Charlotte’s debut luggage range incorporates all of the functionality required for our busy daily lifestyles, whilst her distinctively designed fabrics immediately identify the brand.

There is no ostentatious label on the outside, in fact, Pink Lining’s label is the signature shocking pink lining.

Smitten with the quirky prints and reasonable prices (Travel bags are £55, Laptop bag, £65 and Wheelie case £110) I was flattered when Pink Lining offered to send me my very own bag so I could assess the quality and quirkiness for myself,

a few days ago this gorgeous Travel Bag in the sort of girly, but also kind of nautical bow print turned up at my door, perfectly presented in shocking pink tissue paper. As you can see from the above photos, the bag is even more stunning in real life (and more stunning again when you are holding it in your hands). For those that love to travel, I really recommend checking out Pink Lining

Which will your signature print be?
