hidden treasure

Another example of how many items literally hide in my wardrobe; I was looking for something else and stumbled on this Matalan dress which I had somehow forgotten all about. I had to leave off the belt that it came with (I wanted to breathe) but otherwise I am loving how it fits at the moment- changes in one’s body shape might be hard to cope with at times but it’s also quite fun and exciting to see how clothes fit and learn what truly suits you.

I teamed them with my favourite Georgia Rose boots (stocked at Sarenza) and wore this for a chilled out Saturday,
probably the last chilled out one this side of the new year which is a somewhat scary thought!

No doubt by the time anyone reads this I will have been at work for hours. Wednesdays are probably my least favourite day for their super early starts.

Happy mid-week!

free-fall

Matalan jumper, Missguided Velvet Skater Skirt, Blink boots c/o Sarenza.

I’d forgotten all about this jumper, oops…I’m not sure what that says about the tidyness of my wardrobe when I keep finding forgotten clothing. This is what I wore on Friday for my battle around town…already my week off feels like a distant memory, I always forget just how busy a doctor’s surgery gets at this time of year.

Still, it’s not all bad…party season has started with our work do coming up on Friday and a gathering of lovely bloggers on Sunday,
and then we’re kind of in free-fall until the big day itself (not forgetting Mum’s 50th) so I don’t think time will drag.

Have you had any Christmas parties yet? What is your favourite thing about them? For me it’s the excuse to get dressed up in loads of sparkly things and dance to really rubbish songs…

Sarenza Shoe of the Week

Looking back through my shoe of the week posts I seem to have a thing for studded flat boots and these Temana by Georgia Rose are no exception. They may not be a “classic” in the true sense of the word but the wearability and versatility go some way to justify the £170 price tag.

Do you have a shoe “type?” What is it?

Sunday, I’m in Love

Gina Velvet Bodycon Dress

Black Glitter Litas

Stardust Knicker Playsuit

Star Wet Look Skinny Pant

It’s been a while since I took a proper look at the Motel website- I think I’m slightly bitter about growing out of my Jordan jeans. Lately it’s been impossible to ignore though, the latest collection has excelled itself and I’m finding myself crushing on things that are so far out of my comfort zone they may as well be in another country.
Top of my list are the Star Wet Look Skinny Pants in Emerald Green; at £20 I might just have to be brave and branch out.

Have you checked out Motel lately? What’s caught your eye?

winter wonderland

An outfit made up of old favourites; New Look jumper dressed purchased a couple of years ago and mostly ignored due to it’s more fitted shape, Tesco value tights (because I’m classy and they work!) and those Sarenza boots that I really and truly will be glad to see the back of.

Those who said I was mad to face town on crutches were right, it was heaving and the concentration of getting through the shops in one piece (so many rude people about) meant my desire to browse was diminished; even in Primark I couldn’t find any enthusiasm. It wasn’t a total washout of a trip though, what I did buy were gems, if a little random- gold cat ears from topshop, a penguin knitted hat, the most beautiful Bertie velvet boots in Tk Maxx which I had wanted the second they were released last year…patience pays off as I snapped them up for a mere £22, I can’t even wear them at the moment but I had to have them, the woman who served me declared me mad; both for coming in to town AND for buying something I clearly couldn’t wear but no-one gets between me and my shoes.

It was the perfect ending to what has been an unexpectedly brilliant week off, you never expect it to be rubbish but this week has been punctuated with unexpected happenings and the very best of news- congratulations little cousin Soph and lovely Chris on your baby news
Going to make the most of it being the weekend and go back to work full of energy (or something like that). Tonight I’m going to see Peter Pan at the Bristol Old Vic with a bunch of school friends and tomorrow I will most likely nap, or maybe wrap some presents or something… once I’m back at work I’ll have no time for anything, festive madness has well and truly hit and it looks like I’ll be facing it on sticks, still…fingers crossed I hear something/the pain vanishes/my ability to walk without wanting to pass out from pain returns soon?!

What’s on your agenda for the weekend? Are you Christmas ready?
