Sarenza Shoe of the Week: Cereal Killer

It was the name of these shoes that first made me click on them whilst browsing Sarenza for my weekly pick. Browsing through a feature they had on a capsule collection by Georgia Rose the name Cereal Killer literally jumped out of my screen. Upon clicking I almost didn’t feature these due to the price tag, but look that them…just look. How could I not feature something that is so perfectly me and so wonderfully versatile? Flat enough for my poorly foot, studded enough to be badass, leather so they’ll last. Help me please, I have a serious footwear crush.

I’m loving the rest of the collection too; with fun names like Chocolate Cake and Lady Burger it is most certainly worth a browse and drool.

Which pairs are you crushin’ on?

Audrey: The 60s

I have long admired Audrey Hepburn, I can’t even explain why but her beauty and grace captivate me like it does for many others. When I was e-mailed about the release of this new book “Audrey: The 60s” from Aurum Press I didn’t hesitate in accepting the offer of a copy to add to my already substantial collection of books about Audrey’s life.

Audrey: The 60s is a glorious photographic celebration of the ultimate screen and style icon: Audrey Hepburn. Pairing over two hundred stunning images with reflections and recollections from friends, photographers, designers, close collaborators and Hepburn herself, Audrey: The 60s is an unforgettable showcase of the actress’s timeless beauty and extraordinarily influential style.

Highlights include:
– Never-before-seen on-set photography from some of Audrey Hepburn’s most cherished movies, including Breakfast at Tiffany’sMy Fair LadyHow to Steal a Million and Two for the Road;
– Outtakes and rare images from fashion shoots, some not seen since their original appearance in Vogue;
– Previously unpublished work by photographers Bert Stern, Cecil Beaton, Douglas Kirkland, William Klein, Bob Willoughby and many others.”
This book is a delight to the eyes and a must have for any Audrey Hepburn fan. It takes you through her most adored films with photos, quotes and a behind the scenes glimpse at her life.

This gorgeous hardback book by David Wills and Stephen Schmidt cost £25 and is an absolute must own for any fan. As I’ve mentioned, I have several other books about Audrey Hepburn but nothing can quite compare to this.

Are you an Audrey fan? What is it about her that makes so many people fall in love?

Dress c/o MotelRocks.com, Cardigan from New Look and Steve Madden shoes c/o Sarenza

I posted these shoes on my “shoes of the week” feature a couple of weeks back and became determined to own a pair when I next had the chance to place a Sarenza order. I had a moment of doubt once I’d clicked confirm, I wasn’t sure how they’d look in the real world or if they would be comfortable; well, they look better than on the website and are more comfortable than I could have imagined. I’m calling them my healing shoe as the supportive nature has pushed my foot back in to a natural position whilst wearing them which will help speed up the recovery process (even if it does bloody hurt). I got so many compliments on them when I wore them to work on Friday, including from a 94 year old lady…
The bright pink sole is a winner, it helped break up an otherwise rather dull outfit. As you can tell, it was rather early morning when I took these photos and the lighting was not playing ball.

You can just about see in the photos that I am wearing a necklace, too, which was sent to me via the lovely Naive Melodies, home to handsourced and handmade jewellery for all. This necklace is possibly my new favourite thing ever, the cat lady in me is in heaven. Want one for yourself? It will cost you £11 minus the 15% discount you’ll get when you use the discount code DAISY15

I hope you are all enjoying a lovely, relaxing weekend. Pub lunch with the family for me today; bring it on!

Buy shoes, do good with Yull!

Just incase you needed further reason to buy new shoes, you can make a stylish AND positive step when purchasing the “shelter” shoe from Yull as 10% of each sale (the shoes are £75) goes to the housing and homelessness charity Shelter. These really are the shoe of the season; with the festive red colour perfect for the coming festivities!

Handmade in the UK from soft, red leather these shoes are both stylish and comfortable as well as a do-good purchase.
I have a lot of love for Yull and it’s founder Sarah (who I now consider a friend) and own two pairs of her shoes and of course, my beloved Chelsea boots.
Sarah may be younger than I am but she founded the business in 2011 and has gone from strength to strength since, based at her flat on Portobello Road in London.

The fact Sarah has created a shoe that supports such a worthy cause is typical of her generous nature, if you want a pair of these shoes you can order them from the Yull website or find them stocked at several independent retailers around the country.

Follow the twitter feed or like on facebook to find out more about stockists and to see what comes next…if previous launches are anything to go by, it’s going to be good (take a peek at the stunning flats that are coming soon for starters!)
