Novelty Knitwear Addict

Asos Jumper, Really old New Look skirt, Yull Chelsea Boots.

I’ve lost track of how many jumpers I’ve bought this year, everywhere I turn there is another one I want…this one is a particular favourite; good old ASOS indulging my not so secret cat lady-isms.

How did your week start off? Did you celebrate with Sparklers or hide under a duvet? Mine could have gone better, in fact yesterday ended up being a total nightmare; you know you get those days where you have a total inability to cope with anything? That was me, a sobbing wreck, confused and sad and just pissed off with the world. There was insult to (literal) injury too as I have been signed off work for a week to give my stupid foot a chance to rest and heal whilst awaiting physio; a dream for many, I’d frankly rather be at work but having spent ten long years putting others first, it’s time to do what is right for me and this foot won’t mend itself with my insistence on carrying on as normal.

Thank you to my twitter pals for keeping me sane and making me smile. Special shout-out goes to Polly for the e-mail entertainment and un-wavering moral support.

Today is a new day, things might be changing but that doesn’t mean I have to be miserable. Onward and upwards…indeed.

Sarenza Shoe of the Week

So this week my Sarenza pick has limited itself to just one, but with that I have gone from the sensible to the “even without a poorly foot I could never wear these, but I love them anyway”

I introduce the Starry Night Super Pltfrm by Iron Fist, a brand that I’ve never really enjoyed before but lately they are coming out with some super pieces! This pair costs £91 which isn’t bad for something so damn striking, however they really would be the kind of shoe I buy and then put on display; by the time I’m back in heels I think it’ll be kitten heels and not much else.

Would you be able to walk in these? Are you an Iron Fist…which of their styles is your favourite?

Mad for Miista

Gabriela in Camel, £135

Luli in Black, £150

May in Silver, £145

Mia in Burgundy/Black, £175

I have a lot of love for shoe brand Miista and I was lucky enough to snag a pair for myself for a mere £6 a few months ago,
above are my favourite pairs from the A/W collection; these aren’t your ordinary winter boots, these are statement shoes for everyday wear…the quality, comfort and ethos of the brand makes the price tag oh so worth it, I’m saving for my next pair already…
Which ones are your favourite? My wild side loves the silver May boots, but for a more classic investment I think you can’t go wrong with the Gabriela lace ups.

Potential Party Dresses Part 2: Ax Paris

purple prom dresses

I promised a party themed weekend (despite no parties) and I’ve delivered…this is my second potential Christmas Party dress and it comes c/o Ax Paris who have THE most amazing range of dresses I’ve seen in a long time and pocket friendly prices. This particular number costs £35 and I think it wins as favourite over yesterdays dress for being so damn flattering and floaty. My purple loving friend Ellie has already fallen in love and is buying her own after I loaned her this one to wear to a wedding next weekend…it really is a dress for everyone and every occassion.

Where have you seen the best dresses lately? What style are you after? I never really know until I see it, my only rule being “no bodycon”

This may be a short lived post series as I think I’ve found “the one”…thanks Ax Paris, thank you very much! I can’t wait to be able to team it with some killer heels rather than squishing my feet in to semi flats and still being in agony!

How has your weekend been going? I had the ideal Saturday, spent shopping with my Mum and then chilling at Ellie’s…who needs bars and pubs when you have quality viewing such as Take me Out and X factor?

Phase Eight Blogger Party Outfit Challenge

This week I received an e-mail from Phase Eight inviting me to take part in their Blogger Party Outfit Challenge with the chance to win a £250 voucher to spend in store. It was quite timely really with my current obsession with the shop and also my party themed posts…you can see my entry above with the vital details below…

1. The Dress: I chose the Lorabelle Sequin Dress at £130. I’m bearing an office night out in mind for this post and I wanted something striking but not too revealing. The classic shift shape of this dress combined with killer blue sequins to make a statement makes this dress perfect. I am loving the perfect blue shade too, it reminds me of fairy lights for some reason…

2. I wanted to keep jewellery simple with such a standout dress and although Phase Eight deem this Beaded Bracelet as a perfect casual piece (and only £12) I think it works really well as a solo accompaniment to the dress. Going without jewellery is a party no-no for me but I didn’t want to overshadow the sequins.

3. Likewise with the bag, I wanted something understated but stunning. This Beaded Clutch Bag costs £55 and is just the right side of bling. I’m a fan of silver against blue and it ties in with the colour theme quite nicely! I’m usually a big bag kind of girl but I think I can manage to squish phone, keys and cash in to this quite easily (though it may take some effort not to put it down somewhere and forget it!)

4. And finally the shoes. I have no idea how my foot will be by party season so I wanted to go for something pretty but supportive. The Edina T-Bar Platforms tone in nicely with the rest of the outfit but don’t look like they’ll leave me limping. Although they cost £110 I see these as an investment because the classic style means they can easily be dressed down for day, too.

Ok,
so I’m talking like I can afford this little lot, and if I could I would buy this in a heartbeat. There is always pressure to impress at the office do, especially when you are surrounded by high flying GPs! Fingers crossed I get lucky and can at least treat myself to the dress and shoes…

What do you think of my dream outfit? What would yours be?
