New from Flights of Nancy

Back in July I introduced you to the wonderful website Flights of Nancy and expressed my love of my leather holdall. That holdall has been much admired on my two flights this year (it really is the perfect travel bag, even burly security guards complimented it) and is much treasured by myself; I’ll be using it for years to come and most likely handing it over to my firstborn child, that’s how well made and loved it is!

Anyway,
The hardworking Natalie has been beavering away at updating the range and has a fabulous array of new arrivals to further tempt you and I…pictured are just my favourites, below are the details of the full range:

1. Large Yellow Messenger Bag with Batik Lining, £70

Described by one happy Flights of Nancy customer as “like carrying
sunshine around with you”, the bag is ethically sourced and lined with
beautiful recycled batik. The leather is cow (we heard a rumour it was a
very mean cow if that helps…) while the innards feature an internal zip
compartment, a mobile phone pocket, and a magnet button closure. The
adjustable strap features five holes for folks of all sizes.

2. Medium Batik Lined Leather Messenger Bag in Yellow and Caramel,£60

The leather messenger bag with recycled batik lining is both handmade and
hand dyed. It features one internal zip pocket and mobile pocket.

Ethically sourced from Indonesia in partnership with small family owned
businesses, the Flights of Nancy messenger bag is the perfect iPad
accessory, trendy trend setter, or ideal for everyday use.

wearing crossbody whatever your height. As with all Flights of Nancy

You’ll also find an updated version of my large leather holdall (with Batik rather than plain lining) coming soon!

Natalie is also branching in to holding Flights of Nancy parties, currently trialling in London only but they will make it futher afield if enough interest is there; if they come to the west country your all invited to mine!

Flights of Nancy Fan? Treat yourself. You won’t regret it.

No title Tuesday

I’m quite a bit behind with outfit posts. I wore this dress from Next on Thursday or Friday I think, I lost track of the days. Worn with Georgia Rose boots c/o Sarenza and this beautiful Laura Ashley necklace which was part of my gift from the Blog Birthday Party last week.

I’m not digging this week, my foot and ankle have suddenly got quite a bit worse and the weather and general greyness of the world has got me down. Fingers crossed it’s onward and upward from here! I wanted to thank everyone from the kind and thoughtful comments on recent posts, I’ve really been so touched by them, blogging friends are fabulous!

Well, I’d best get to work, a few hours to get through, a lunchtime meeting and then I’ll most likely be heading down to A&E to get my foot checked out. In an ideal world I’d be resting with my foot up, but duty calls and I can’t bear to let work down!

How has your week started off?

Introducing Skinnydip + Giveaway

A few weeks ago I was invited along to a gathering to showcase the brand Skinnydip; a new, young fashion tech accessory brand.

The difference with their products – iPhone cases, iPad and Tablet protectors, headphones – is that the accent is very much on style and design at affordable prices.
They work with up and coming designers straight out of Central St Martins and they are the first tech accessories company to be stocked in fashion retailers (Harvey Nichols, River Island, Debenhams).
The guys behind Skinnydip are three young graduates from London – you may have even seen them on the current series of Dragons’ Den securing £120K of investment from Peter Jones.

As is often the case for me I wasn’t able to attend the event, living so far from London makes what I can get to very limited, but the folks at Skinnydip were kind enough to send over a few products so I could take a look for myself.

As you can see, they were were generous! Everything is so much fun and the earmuff headphones (£15) will be perfect for Winter! I’m loving the fun Bling bass headphones too, which cost £20 and an iPhone case will set you back between £10-£15.
As with a lot of my posts lately, I think these would make excellent Christmas gifts; how cute are these little animal speakers? What’s caught your eye?

And now for the giveaway , you see, I don’t own an iPhone 4 (or indeed any iPhone) but I know a lot of you lovely bloggers do, so I’m giving away the Leopard Bling case worth £12. All you need to do to enter is leave a comment on this post with your e-mail address. I’ll draw a winner at 7pm next Monday the 29th October. Simple as that! Giveaway open internationally for once, too!

Skincare tip for Oily and Spot Prone Skin *Guest Post*

Having oily and spot-prone skin can sometimes feel like a constant battle to hide blemishes and keep
spots under control. The good news is that there is a wide range of products on the market which are specifically targeted at this problematic skin type.

To help keep your spot prone skin under control, you may need to give it a little more TLC than those with normal skin. Most of these processes can be easily adopted as part of your daily cleansing routine and using the right products is always essential.

Cleanse twice daily

It is important that people with oily skin cleanse both in the morning and at night to ensure that their pores are kept clear. Clogged pores are one of the biggest culprits in causing spots so addressing this issue will have an immediate effect.

If you have oily skin you should also use a “soapy” or gel based cleanser as these will help strip any excess oil away from your skin and clean pores more deeply than other options.

Always use a toner

For those with oily skin, your skin care regime needs to be more thorough and comprehensive than those with normal skin. In the effort to ensure all traces of dirt and oil are removed, cleansers are not always sufficient. Applying a toner with a cotton ball after cleansing will remove any of these leftover traces of grease and dirt – giving you a clean canvas on which to moisturise.

Pay particular attention to grease prone areas such as the chin, nose and forehead, which can be especially susceptible to spots.

Use a light moisturiser

Moisturisers come in a whole range of consistencies to cater to every type of skin. Take the Johnson’s Skin Care range for example. These include moisturisers which are specifically designed to optimise the look and feel of all types of skin, from oily complexions to those with dry and flaky skin.

Whilst many people with oily skin tend to skip on using moisturiser in the belief it will only make their skin greasier, this is a huge mistake. All skin needs to be moisturised in order to replace the moisture it loses during the day. Oily skin sufferers should opt for a light moisturiser which will help give their skin the moisture it needs without clogging up the pores.

Sarenza Shoe(s) of the Week

This week I’ve managed to narrow down my two favourite pairs of shoes on Sarenza to just two; makes a change right? Believe it or not I’m finding it hard to get enthused about shoes at the moment purely because I can’t really wear any still.

Irregular Choice is a brand that divides opinion, you either seem to love and defend them, or flat out loathe them. I’m in the first camp although it took me a while to get there, and I am LOVING these two new styles:

Baby Beauty £92

Abigails Party £92

Despite how they look, Irregular Choice shoes are incredibly comfortable and these beauties will be perfect for upcoming party season!

Are you an Irregular lover? Char, Alex I’m looking at you! (these girls bought me my very first pair)
